Muy recomendable a pesar de que ya tiene sus años. Me agrada saber que su autor se haya interesado y dedicado tantos años de investigación y sobre todo siendo extranjero. Pero eso implica un doble desafío de entender la idiosincrasia y la historia de un país como Argentina.
De este libro lo que más me gusta es cómo explica el proceso de la "libertad de vientres" y como desmiente esté mito de que las familias esclavistas eran benévolas por estas tierras.
Muy agradecida de la visibilidad que está obra da a nuestra comunidad de afroargentinxs y afrodescendientes. Sepan que hay mucho más por conocer esto es solo un pedacito. Hay muchísimos investigadores y investigadoras argentinas también. ¡Viva la diáspora!

This author attempts to answer what happened to the Afro-argentine population in Argentina, he does this by examining census records while exploring critically the long held belief's that were used to explain what caused the Afro-argentines to "disappear".

Additionally, he explored the life's of Afro-argentines, and the racial dynamics in Argentina throughout the book. Exploration of the racial dynamics is writ large in the epilogue section where he promulgates the ugly aspects of the country like socially acceptable antisemitism.
