I should have known once I picked this up, there would be no stopping. No breaks from the world that Cecy so meticulously and lovingly created, nor break from the onslaught of emotions it would bring with it.
Cecy's books never cease to bring out an array of emotions and feels in me. It just is something I have come to expect from her but I don't think any of her past books have quite brought out the emotions in me that this one did.
While I still smiled and laughed throughout this story, for the most part, this installment was darker than ever before and more often than not I was sad or angry at what was going on and wanted so much more for my beloved characters.
As this series has progressed and the danger along with it, so have the characters. They have grown stronger and more sure of what has to be done than ever before. But along with that growth comes the certainty that their life is hard and at most times, unfair and with that realization, on both the characters and us the readers part, I think it brings a hint of despair to the story line. A hint of almost a depressed feeling, a hint of anger for all of us. Will they ever catch a break?
And while I felt that way through most of the story, I still devoured it. Still loved it and still flipped the pages and read as fast as I possible could because darkness or not, this story, this series, is still one of my top ten favorite UF series out there. I love everything about it and am always eager to get the next installment.
I truly hope things get better for this beloved bunch, but either way, I will be there every step of the way with them, good or bad.

Of Flame and Fate is one wild ride. The battle between good and evil continues and the fate of the Weird Girls children are at stake.
You can read this as a stand-a-lone, but I recommend at least reading Taran's story in order or the full series in order.
Their’s an ongoing struggle against the Dark group and now a new situation has arisen that will affect the future in particular the Weird Sisters future children.
The writing is engaging and wonderful. Taran’s life is crazy, but for her it’s as stable as things get. Her and Gemini are solid, but the world around them is going up in flames. Their was no putting this one down. The book is full of Taran getting into insane situations and driving Gemini crazy and then having them share a tender moment. We get to see all five sisters and watch as they fight for their and their unborn children’s future. I like that the sister stick together even when things get dicey.
Man o’ man this one was so much fun! I was surprised with the direction things went and loved having all my favorite characters back together. We get a little more insight into Misha and Emme’s maybe romance to Bren is hinted at. Their was loads of action and two very powerful witches that shouldn’t exist at the sometime affecting the world and future.
Urban Fantasy fans will enjoy the action, emotion, enthusiasm, and humor in this high octane adventure.

Of Flame and Fate is the eighth book in Cecy Robson's Weird Girls series and it's another action packed adventure that is full of humorous moments but can also be quite dark at times. Taran is in a much better place now that she's getting to grips with her new abilities and her relationship with Gemini is back on an even keel, things still aren't perfect between them (he's a little too overprotective and Taran hides things from him because she doesn't want to get into an argument which means she ends up putting herself into dangerous situations without backup) but it's a definite improvement from where they were at in the last book.
This story focuses on the larger role that the Weird sisters, and their future children, have in protecting the universe. There are a few different prophecies at play and the sisters are now stuck between the living embodiments of both Destiny and Fate waiting to see which one will come out on top. Nothing has ever been easy for these sisters and even when Celia in particular should be enjoying her happily ever after their future safety is far from certain. Celia and her unborn child are both major targets for the forces of evil and there is nothing Taran won't put herself through to protect them both.
I've always loved the relationship between the sisters, growing up they never had anyone to rely on but each other so they are a very tight unit. They all have different strengths and weaknesses but they balance each other out and as a team they're pretty unstoppable. Their family has slowly grown to include Aric, Gemini, Koda and a few others but they still find it difficult to trust most of Aric's pack considering everything Celia was put through previously. It's interesting to see how the dynamics are slowly changing though and I'm very excited to see what happens between Emme and a certain werewolf she's falling hard for. It's about time for her to find some happiness!
I always look forward to new books in this series so now I've finished reading this I'll go back to impatiently waiting for the next one.

Ms. Robson kept Of Flame and Fate action-packed, hilariously filled with funny banters, and overall fast paced just like the other books in the series. This installment is the 8th book of the Weird Girls Series and third book of Taran’s story, though it’s the second book the Weird Girls Flame series. A bit confusing but the first book, Of Flame and Promise, has an overlap to Celia's story. Whereas Of Flame and Light (book 2) and Of Flame and Fate (book2) do not overlap in the time frame. Nevertheless, the title is fitting for Taran’s characterTaran’s is definitely the fiery sister. Not only she has the power to go with that name, but she also has the attitude to match it. Taran, along with her extraordinary sisters are assigned to take care of Destiny. She has predicted that Celia and her unborn children will have the power to ultimately defeat evil. Unfortunately, bumping into Fate, Destiny’s counterpart, will alter everything she had predicted.
It’s nice to see that Taran and Gemini’s relationship is at its strongest. Though there were a few times, Gemini had to deal with Taran’s dangerous streak. He so protective, but he should know better and accept what a bad ass his mate can be. Taran is one powerful witch, and she will do everything she can to protect her own. I can’t blame her, the future babies in her family are at risk and with all that power... I would protect my family too. I love her character!
Emme and Bren’s mystery relationship is definitely mentioned a few times. Unfortunately, whatever is happening there is not looking good. Emme has been through a lot, so I hope Ms. Robson doesn’t prolong her HEA for too long. She certainly deserves to be happy. Misha, the sisters’ vampire friend has a good amount of page time in this book. Super happy to read about him. He’s another character that deserves to get his HEA and I’m dying to read his full story. Very excited to read more of the sisters.

Flame and Fate by Cecy Robson proved to be an exciting, exhilarating and an unputdownable read. I had a great time revisiting the world the author created.
Once again Cecy Robson weaved her magical pen and created a story that took me on an emotional and action-packed adventure. The fate of the Wird’s unborn children are at stake and Taran is determined to protect their destiny.
This installment while laced with humour proved to be a darker read than the other books I read so far. The fate of the world hung in a balance. Tara and Gemini’s relationship was stable. However, amidst their stability, the world around them was in chaos. Evil wanted control, but this would prove a difficult task under the Taran and her sister’s watch. They had each other’s backs, no matter how dangerous the situation became. Danger abound, but Taran faced it head on, much to Gemini’s despair.
Taran has grown since I last saw her in Of Flame and Light. She no longer struggled with self-doubt and she had control of her arm.
The author introduced new characters into the mix which made for some interesting moments. Johnny Fate was one such character. I didn’t trust him, but I couldn’t help but feel empathy towards him.
The build up to the end was fast paced, action packed, suspenseful and mind blowing. Thank goodness there was no cliff-hanger, however the events at the end indicated that there would be more in store for the sisters.
It took me awhile to get into the story, but I gained my footing and became totally engrossed in the story and the lives of the characters.
Conclusion/Recommendation.
Of Flame and Fate is a great addition to what I consider to be an exciting and thrilling series. This is a must read for fans of Urban Fantasy.

Taran and Gemini are solid, but the world around them has gone up in flames as Destiny and Fate are at war over the lives of Celia, her unborn babies, and the rest of the gang. There was no resisting this one or putting it down once I got started.
Of Flame and Fate is the eighth in the Weird Girls and second of the Flames (Taran's story) series. They are a hybrid urban fantasy series that focuses on the four Wird sisters and reads best in order.
Taran's life is crazy with killer danger and insane events, but for Taran this is as stable as it gets. This book was rife with Taran's trouble magnet issues and her laugh-snort sense of humor. I enjoyed seeing her driving Gemini insane and then the pair turn around and share a tender moment Taran continues to narrate this latest book in the series yet as before when it was Celia, the sisters all have a prominent place.
There is the ongoing struggle against the Dark group and now there is a new situation brought on by the fact that the female Destiny and a newly emerged male Fate now exist at the same time affecting the present and the future particularly when it comes to Celia and her sisters.
I enjoy the balance between deep character development and plotting with action-packed scenes with the strong paranormal elements. It took me a bit to get into this one (Taran really can jump in stir it all up without much thought and it drove me as nuts as Gemini, her mate), but not much before I was viscerally connected with the story and characters, rooting Taran on to get to the heart of matters.
Speaking of characters, I love the whole ball of them wadded together whether its the sisters, their interests, the witches, the vamps, or the others. They interconnect so well and even minor character backstories and threads are not to be missed. I grow more intrigued by that story line with Emme and I confess to getting emotional over the tragic situation that developed for a pair of the characters.
Not happy to shut the last page and settle back into the anxious wait, but as problems go, I'm thrilled that this series continues to dazzle me and leave me well satisfied with all the sparkling elements within each installment. Urban fantasy fans who enjoy action, passion, humor, and suspense packing an emotional wallop should give this series a try.

The battle of good versus evil is the theme that runs through the Weird Girls Series. Four sisters are super human but unique to the paranormal world of witches, were's and vampires. This series just continues to get more intense as the characters involved become a part of your heart and soul. Celia, Shayne, and Taran have wolf mates that try to protect them. Emme's romance to Bren is hinted at but is only a tidbit in this installment. Taran has the power of fire that has only intensified with her ancient arm replacement she calls "Sparky". Loved that Misha a powerful vampire was on the scene and that a vision into his past was shared. Lots of action and world destruction occur when Destiny and Fate meet. These two are rare powerful witches that should never exist during the same time. World leaders must dictate the protection of Fate when Destiny lies on her death bed. I can't get enough of the Weird Girls! Of Flame and Fate is another fantastic installment in their world. Cecy Robson has created a great cast of characters and a storyline that sucks me in. Every time! Taran is smart, sexy, and oh so sassy! Each book makes me crave more and more. I'm ready for the next!

As always, I was very curious to discover the continuation of the adventures of our three sisters! Once again, we find Taran for a new adventure.
Now that Geminy and Taran have reconciled, other problems arise. The young woman is ready to do anything to help Celia, and even to put herself in compromising and dangerous situations. Alas, the enemies are getting closer and closer, and everyone will have to be on the alert to thwart their plans. In addition, another problem presents itself in the form of Johnny Fate. It would seem that there is a man version of Destiny and now that they have met, they can not coexist together. Unfortunately, it is Destiny’s turn to sink little by little and with them the prophecies about the Celia’s children.
I had a good time with the story and it is true that I was very curious to see how the enemies were going to act, as well as their identity. Conflicts and tensions are swelling and the danger is becoming increasingly closer. Taran and Geminy try to make their relationship work and to make compromises and move forward, while Celia tries hard to get her pregnancy to term. Meanwhile, there is also an evolution of character of Emme and I confess that I can not wait to read a novel from her point of view!
It was a very nice new volume mainly focused on Destiny and Fate and it was interesting to learn more about them. I’m curious to see what the author will do for the rest of us!

The Weird Girls series has been a huge favorite of mine ever since I start reading it waaaaaay back in December 2012. Almost five years later we're now into Taran's story, her second book, and the overall eighth book in the entire series. Celia and Aric's story is still being told, Shayna and Koda are still working the kinks out of their relationship, and don't even get me started on Emme, Bren, and Misha and what their respective love lives have turned into.
AND if you have no clue what the heck I'm talking about, let me recommend a little book called Sealed with a Curse by Cecy Robson. It's only $2.99 on the Kindle and I highly recommend you read this series in order (see paragraph above). Check out my review of Sealed with a Curse by clicking on the book title (man, my reviews have changed over the years!).
As for the current state of the Wird sisters, everybody's job right now is to protect Celia. With the bad guys gathering their troops, they've turned to hiring "assassins" to do their dirty work, attacking the highest level supernatural leaders. Taran is focused on protecting Celia but the leaders have other plans for her.
Charged with protecting Destiny, the most powerful soothsayer/witch, Taran has her otherworldly arm full with Destiny's quirkiness and unusual ways. When Destiny wants to go to a rock concert, Taran, Shayna, and Emme all accompany her. When Destiny gets a gander of Johnny Fate, the rock star, all hell breaks loose, literally. Everyone is left scrambling to figure out the mystery of Destiny and Johnny Fate.
In my opinion, this book is very different than the other full length novels Ms. Robson has written in this series in that her other books were 50% paranormal romance and 50% urban fantasy. Of Flame and Fate takes a departure from that formula towards straight up urban fantasy. It has about the same amount of romance that a typical urban fantasy may have. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this... just thought it should be pointed out.
If you're into the series as much as I am, you MUST read this one. The mystery of "what the heck is going on" goes on for a bit and leaves no clues for the reader, or at least dumb me. BUT the big, huge ass reveal at the end makes it all worth the read! I'm always blown away by Ms. Robson's ability to write a great, action-packed fight scene in a way that I can clearly picture what is going on, especially when supernatural, preternatural, or whatever is involved.
And even if the ending was a bit too abrupt for my taste, I know someday Taran will get the respect and thanks she deserves. I can't wait for that to happen!!! Soon, please?
AND if you have no clue what the heck I'm talking about, let me recommend a little book called Sealed with a Curse by Cecy Robson. It's only $2.99 on the Kindle and I highly recommend you read this series in order (see paragraph above). As for the current state of the Wird sisters, everybody's job right now is to protect Celia. With the bad guys gathering their troops, they've turned to hiring "assassins" to do their dirty work, attacking the highest level supernatural leaders. Taran is focused on protecting Celia but the leaders have other plans for her.
Charged with protecting Destiny, the most powerful soothsayer/witch, Taran has her otherworldly arm full with Destiny's quirkiness and unusual ways. When Destiny wants to go to a rock concert, Taran, Shayna, and Emme all accompany her. When Destiny gets a gander of Johnny Fate, the rock star, all hell breaks loose, literally. Everyone is left scrambling to figure out the mystery of Destiny and Johnny Fate.

The adventure continues. The intrigue of the next calamity to hit the world had been released. There’s a deeper sense of danger, intrigue, growth, mischief. There’s something here that was not so prevalent in the previous installment of this Flame series to the Weird Girls. I feel a shadow has come over things. I had a gambit of raw, sad emotions overwhelming me throughout the read. There was much to get involved in in this Urban Fantasy and this group of women that had strength, balance, each other.
I believe that anyone could pick this up and read this and enjoy if for what it is a very good Urban Fantasy with very strong leading ladies, but to get the most of the read. I would recommend that you start from the very beginning of the Weird Girls series. If you can begin with the novellas and work your way up to the present release. This way you are there for the journey at the beginning. You can see how the world changes and becomes more, deeper, darker, more evolved. You have the chance to grow to love all the character and their quirks, insecurities, strengths, weaknesses, and more.
The Wird sisters have their own challenges to moving forward. We get to see a new phase in their ongoing drama with the dark side. The secondary characters are full of witches, vamps and more of the paranormal world that adds more flavor to the series. Keeping tabs on the others from the previous reads in the series was an added bonus. We are more or less seeing thing from Tarans’ view point.
I find myself in need of a Weird Girls weekend or two to get reacquainted with the girls and the series. This sounds like a plan for the new month coming.

I have truly enjoyed reading this book, it was fast paced and kept me on the edge the whole time I was reading. I just couldn't put this one down. Taran was an amazing character and being able to watch her open up and accept that she was worthy of being loved was an awesome sight to see. I can't wait for more.

I read Cecy Robson's first book in this series a couple of years ago. I read the next two as fast as I could. Then every time the next book released, I ordered it and read it within a day. If I could pick a WG character I’d love to be, oh yeah that would be Taran without a doubt. The girl says what she wants, whenever she wants and doesn’t give a flying ‘f’ what anyone else thinks…especially Mrs. Mancuso!
Taran is given the responsibility of protecting Destiny from the evil that stalks the Alliance members. The first big test of her bodyguard skills are at a concert held in Santa Barbara, where rock star Johnny Fate is performing. Of course, that means chaos ensues during which Taran finds out that Johnny is a Fate. Among the supernaturals, a Destiny and a Fate cannot exist at the same time without causing an imbalance, thus leading to the rise of evil.
Thus begins a wild ride of an adventure from California to South Carolina, battles among good and evil and of course, some comic humor provided by the Catholic schoolgirls! This book pleasantly surprised me! I haven't read any of the other books in the series and had no problems picking up this one and following the plot, so no worries if you haven't read any of them either, this is still a great book! It's one of those books that plops you down right into the plot and takes off, which I do love.
The book centers on a group of four sisters who are human but with some extra powers that makes them unique, and they stand out (and don't quite fit in) with the rest of the paranormal world. One of the sisters, Taran, is the main focus on the novel and she gets stuck with the job of babysitting Destiny, a prophet with some major magic mojo. Destiny ends up meeting Jonny Fate, a male version of herself, and all hell starts to break lose. Now it's up to Taran and her sisters to protect the world from what may come next.
Overall, the plot was stellar and never really let up. Taran has an amazing voice and I loved seeing the world from her point of view. There are little bits of romance that help break up all the action (because in a world of good vs. evil, there is a lot of fighting). This is a (relatively) quick read, as I finished it in a few days, but it's packed full of action if you like paranormal novels (think the Mercedes Thompson Series by Patricia Briggs).

Taran Wird will do anything to protect her sister and her unborn baby, even if it means sacrificing her own life. When one dangerous mission after another ends with her having a demon crawling in her body, her mate Gemini has had enough of her actions. But before they can fix their tiff, all the leaders of the supernatural world are attacked and Taran has been assigned guard duty to Destiny, a Fate, and the scariest person that Taran has ever met. After a week of babysitting Destiny, Taran feels like this will be a cakewalk, becuase really who would attack the crazy powerful and unpredictable Fate? Well, nothing ever goes as planned for the Wird girls and Fate takes a turn.
So full disclaimer here, I have only read book 1, Sealed With A Curse, which was good, but just staring the building of the characters and the urban fantasy world, slowly revealing details of the supernatural and the origins of the Wird sisters. I have wanted to read the rest of the books but just never got the time to pick any up. Well, when I saw this book, I was interested in it from the synopsis and when I was told this was a standalone I was game to read more. TO be fair, this book could potentially be a standalone, with a new adventure set up and enough backstory tidbits to make me feel like I was not left out. But, I really, really, really want the filler! Based on the snippets I received here, I have missed a TON of stuff that I would love to catch up on (for example, Taran lost her arm and has a kinda-sorta sentient all powerful arm replacement- yeah, that is kind of a big deal!). So not only is this the 8th Weird Girls book, but the 3rd in the Taran Flame spinoff series.
I loved that the story started right in the middle of the action, with Taran being stripped and drenched with alcohol to keep a demon from entering her heart. That was literally just the beginning of the mess she finds herself in in this story and the danger and action grew as the book progressed. Taran was such a complex character, not expecting happiness for herself, but willing to do anything she can to protect her sisters. She was so powerful and usually surrounded by people, yet you could feel her loneliness and sorrow over what she felt needed to happen. I fully appreciated her sarcasm and her usually inappropriately placed sense of humor. I heart her interaction with her sisters, especially the protection she feels for Emme, but her moments with Gemini were the best- whether he agrees with her or not, he has her back and will stop at nothing to see her prevail. The fact he applauds her humanity and praises her strength just makes me love him more (for her of course, but I may have a little crush...).
I loved the first book and I really enjoyed this story, I just need to get my hands on the 6 books in between to fill in the gaps in the crazy complicated world building that has happened since I first started this journey. Instead of feeling like I was left out, jumping into this story makes me want more, and the ending shows that this is really just the start for what is coming for Taran and company. I always on the prowl for good Urban Fantasy and I am pretty sure I struck the jackpot here. I have read lots of books by Cecy (mainly her romance stories) but she really knows how to create complicated characters and pace her writing perfectly to keep me engaged. Cecy has built such a great Urban Fantasy series here, which just so happens to be my favorite genre of books, and I highly recommend any UF fans pick up the first book. Expect an edge of your seat ride that you will never want to end.

Four stars: Another thrilling adventure in a dynamite series. This one is darker with more action and danger than ever.
Taran is finally getting more comfortable with her supernatural arm and her abilities, and things are back on track with her mate, Gemini. However, darkness still surrounds Taran and her sisters as they battle to fight back the evil that threatens to kill Celia and her unborn baby and destroy the world. Danger is coming at the alliance from all sides. Thus, Taran is assigned body guard duty to Destiny, the witch who prophesied that Celia’s baby would save the world. While on guard duty, Taran is hauled to a concert where they meet Johnny Fate, a rock star. Johnny’s and Destiny’s powers clash, threatening Destiny’s life. It is up to Taran and her sisters along with the wolves to try and save Destiny and Celia’s baby. Will they succeed?
What I Liked:
*This is now the eighth book in the Weird Girl Series, a series that I can always count on for humor, thrilling action, sizzling romance and outstanding characters. This latest book doesn’t disappoint. It delivers all that you know and love in the series.
*This is the second book in Taran’s journey, and I liked the new direction. In Taran’s first book, she is a miserable wreck as she is trying to master her powers and fix her relationship with Gemini. In this book, Taran is, for the most part, back in control. I liked that she had rid herself of the doubt and that she was finally comfortable in her skin again and that she was mastering her arm. It was nice to see the old Taran, especially when she storms around in her hot pink heels blowing things up!
*I was most intrigued by the story line involving Bren and Emme. I am most eager to see how it all plays out. More Emme and Bren please.
*This book has a darker tone. Yes, there is still the humor and snark I love in the series, but it felt more urgent as the fate of the world is hanging in the balance. There were some new characters, some exciting twists and plenty of action.
*The romance took a back seat in this one, which was fine by me. I liked that Gemini and Taran were back on track and that this one was without relationship drama.
*Johnny Fate was such an interesting character. I can’t say that I really liked him, but like Taran, I felt some empathy toward him. I liked the whole thing with his tattoos as well. I am waiting to see what happens with him. I really want to know who exactly Johnny Fate is?
*The ending was crazy. Lots of things happen rapid fire, that had my head spinning. There are some more big revelations that set the tone for the next book. I am waiting on the edge of my seat. I was also happy that this one doesn’t end on a cliffhanger.
And The Not So Much:
*The opening scene was a bit disorienting. It throws you right into the action, and I struggled a bit to get my footing. I couldn’t recall how the last book ended so I was a lost for a few pages.
*Even though I love the wolves and the sisters together, I have to admit that I am getting tired of the male posturing and over protectiveness. I want the girls to be able to stand on their own and not to have to worry about what their mate thinks all the time.
*This was just a personal preference, but I wanted more of Shayna and Koda.
Of Flame and Fate is another thrilling book in an excellent series. This one sets the table for a big show down between good and evil that I can’t wait to see play out. I liked that this one was more focused on the main story and that it didn’t have relationship drama. If you have not read this series, what are you waiting for?

"Of Flame and Fate" is Taran Wird's story and to be honest, it is my least favorite in this series to date. Celia is bursting with child (ren) and everyone is bound and determined to keep her and the baby safe. Taran is working for the vampires trying to recover artifacts and Gemini is none too pleased with her constantly putting herself in danger.
As the various magical creatures convene at the den, Taran is assigned guard duty to Destiny, a quirky and unusually dressed supernatural. She is dead set on adding to her already crazy wardrobe as well as attending a Johnny Fate concert in Santa Barbara. What she doesn't know is that that very act of attending this concert will set about events that will change everyone's world and not necessarily in a good way.
It seems Johnny is Fate's complement. He is her opposite. It was never meant for the both of them to exist in the same point in time. Now, that they meet, cataclysmic events are taking place including Destiny slowly dying. Even though Taran keeps Destiny and Johnny apart, it is not enough. What makes things worse is the realization that Destiny will die if he is not stopped.
Taran only sees the good in Johnny. However, Gemini realizes something is wrong. On the personal side of things, Gemini wants to take things a step further in a way that Taran has never ever dreamed of. The fate of the world is on the brink of anihilation and the Weird sisters are right in the middle of its future. While I love this series this book wasn't one of my favorites because it didn't have much of the normal humor that usually is pervasive. It had one funny moment and the rest felt more like doom and gloom. I've read all of the 4 stars reviews but I just was not feeling this installment as much as the others. Oh well, every series has hits and misses. This was a miss for me.
As the various magical creatures convene at the den, Taran is assigned guard duty to Destiny, a quirky and unusually dressed supernatural. She is dead set on adding to her already crazy wardrobe as well as attending a Johnny Fate concert in Santa Barbara. What she doesn't know is that that very act of attending this concert will set about events that will change everyone's world and not necessarily in a good way.
It seems Johnny is Fate's complement. He is her opposite. It was never meant for the both of them to exist in the same point in time. Now, that they meet, cataclysmic events are taking place including Destiny slowly dying. Even though Taran keeps Destiny and Johnny apart, it is not enough. What makes things worse is the realization that Destiny will die if he is not stopped.
Taran only sees the good in Johnny. However, Gemini realizes something is wrong. On the personal side of things, Gemini wants to take things a step further in a way that Taran has never ever dreamed of. The fate of the world is on the brink of anihilation and the Weird sisters are right in the middle of its future. While I love this series this book wasn't one of my favorites because it didn't have much of the normal humor that usually is pervasive. Holy freaking God's! This freaking series just gets better in
better. This is the 8th books the series. If you haven't
read the others I just you do. It's an ongoing story-line they
could possibly get lost if you don't know what's going on.
This book is extremely well written like the others in the series.
This is Taran, Destiny, Johnny Fate, and Gemini her mate's
story. It’s the continuing story for T and her sisters. In this
book T and their allies must determine if it’s Fate who will
decide what will become of all their kids, or if their will die
with Destiny. Destiny feels Johnny calling to her. He is a
rockstar and she wants to go see his concert not knowing
who he really is. But bad things happen when Destiny meets
Johnny. See literally or classes against one each other. And
is up to Taran to fix things even though Gemini doesn't want
her to. So the senseless but he's become particularly
protective of her. It’s nice to see he finally came around and
accepted who they are too want another. Too bad it just a
catastrophe for them to find out. Now before I ruin this I could
her stuff by could go on and on about this book. I am so
ready for the next one to come out.

first off I have to mention that I A) Have not read any of the weird girls series and B) I did not know that this was a series getting into this book. Thusly I will be assesing this book to the best of my ability without prior knowledge of the storyline.
First off the characters in this book are hilarious! I adored the main character and her sassy bull headed ways and all of the characters that where around her. you could tell each character was extraordinary well developed and would continue to progress throughout the story.
This commitment to characters has made me determined to find and read the rest of the series which, along with the fact that I was able to still comprehend the world and magic system regardless of it being the 8th book, speaks wonders about the author and series itself.
The author also manages to speak volumes about certain characters with few words due to the main characters voice, which leads to an intense fantasy story that can be both plot and character driven.
That being said, I still found the overall arc of the book went a bit too fast for my likeing leaving me feeling underwhelmed and disappointed that I didn't get the satisfaction of watching the characters struggle to "solve the mystery" so to speak.
Overall I highly enjoyed the book and characters and, if the rest of the books are half as good, look forward to diving into this new and fascinating series.

For Taaran Wird and her sisters, Wird isn’t just their last name, the are weird. They’re not human, but they don’t really fit in the paranormal world either. When Taran is given the task of guarding Destiny, she’s not thrilled. When she’s told that when Destiny dies, her sister’s childrens’ destiny dies with them, she will do what she can to prevent that from happening.
Once I started this book, I couldn’t put it down. I absolutely love this story, this series, and everything this author writes. Of the four sisters, Taran is fast becoming my favorite, which says a lot considering all of the emotions I went through reading Celia’s story. After her first book, I was very happy that she and Gemini were on the right path together. The only thing I didn’t like about this story was that it was over before I knew it and now I’ll have to wait for the next one.

Taran is back in style in Cecy Robson’s Of Flame and Fate! The Weird Girls continues the story with the future of all paranormal kind resting on the shoulders of Celia’s children. Taran charges herself of helping to protect her sister and is also out to protect Destiny, who is the one who can See Celia’s children’s future.
Things get kind of thrown through a loop when suddenly Fate makes an appearance into the exosphere. Johnny Fate is a young musician trying to make a name for himself, but when he and Destiny collide, things happen! Nothing good comes from this as Destiny suddenly becomes very ill. Things then get very dicey as a lot hangs on Destiny so they can know what’s in store for Celia and her children. If Destiny dies, things might change and at the moment, change isn’t a good thing.
Worried that something might happen to Johnny as well, Taran decides to protect him while Destiny is being looked after. Johnny’s powers as Fate are a little unclear but protecting him is vital. And this is where the vampires and Misha come in! Misha has his own set of things happening as well, but those details are very clear just yet. Perhaps in the next book or so we might see more expanding on that.
I’ve pretty much loves this series since it began with Celia and her journey/story. And I love that she and Aric are still involved even though this is Taran’s turn to shine! Though I will say I am DYING for Emme to take the spotlight! Ever since that THING happened in Of Flame and Light I have been wanting to know more! Thankfully Taran does notice little details and we get a few more teases, but I’m really anxious to see more from it! I guess since Emme’s the little sister and I’m the younger sister, I feel a connection to her! Plus everything that’s happened in her cycle of things in romance makes me ache for her! Hence the reason why I NEED her book asap!!
But back to Taran, because she was always a favorite as well because of her fiery attitude (no pun intended…okay, a little intended!)! I’ve loved watching Taran grow as well! She and Gemini have worked out the bulk of their issues and now it seems they have the usual couple issues that tend to pop up regarding futures, safety and the like! I love that Taran still remains the strong and independent young woman that she’s been since the beginning!
The story starts off at a slightly slower pace, we’re thrust in the middle of an adventure that Taran is on and it was a smidge discombobulating at first. As it can be when you’re returning to a series after a year and lot of books in between since you last joined the characters. After that initial disorientation things get on track to the story at large and then things are smooth sailing! I’d say pacing wise at this point was spot on. It’s not all action packed and fast paced, but truly a perfect rate where we have moments of action, tension builders, romantic interludes and other story-building moments! Cecy’s got pacing down to an art!
The ending to this one was pretty exciting too! Nothing too cliffhangery. More like OMG moments and you’re just ready for the next Weird Girls book to come! Hopefully maybe with Emme at the helm, unless we still have one more Taran book! I can’t remember what Cecy said was going to happen in that realm of things! But anyway, The Weird Girls series is definitely one fans of Urban Fantasy should check out! It’s what I’d likely consider classic UF as you have an incredible plot coupled with romance! Plus, since this is Taran we’re talking about, you can bet on there being more than a few laughs! Of Flame and Fate was yet another amazingly GREAT read by Cecy Robson!

Oh Cecy. You had me smiling with these crazy characters. And you had me tearing up. I should know by now that when I read one of these books, I'll feel an array of emotions with the characters. I love it!

Taran will do all she can to make sure her sister, Celia, and her baby will be safe. Even tracking down powerful relics at her own harm. Gemini, Taran's mate, is upset because she goes off without telling him. Though, she knows he would do all he can to stop her from what she feels she must do - protect her sister and baby.
Things are getting tense in the Alliance. Each group had a powerful leader attacked. Some group is acting to take out the powerful in order to get to Celia and her baby. The baby destined to do great things. All are assigned to protect the leaders, leaving Taran to protect Destiny. Destiny has fun plans for them, but when they go to a concert of rock star Johnny Fate things take a turn no one ever saw coming.
This beginning was a grabber! Wow, that's a way to start a book. And this scene is totally a Taran moment. lol. I loved it!
Taran is one of the most amusing characters to follow. Her colorful phrases and comparisons make me wonder what she'll say or think next. I love reading them. She makes me smile with each unique phrasing. Taran is a fighter. Dang girl. She may not fist fight in her pink heels but she won't stop going on and she'll fight if she has to. She's strong in her personality and determination.
Taran does what Taran does best...blow stuff up. Taran's arm... Yep. If you've read the previous books, you know her arm is rather special. Even seems to have a mind of it's own. But there is more to it. Totally awesome. I love how Taran has her own major spot in the way things will go in the future. These Wird girls are rather special, you can't deny that.
I get some view of Em here through Taran's interactions with her. This is interesting. I had questions regarding her at the end of Celia's last book. I'm glad to get some outsider view of Em and her interactions with others. I still have questions, but I feel like I'm getting pieces I am wanting.
As a whole the story gives us more tidbits on Taran and her sisters impact in the future. There's even talk of the girls children. Yes, girls, plural. This leaves us knowing there are more books to come to get to those moments. Also, the new enemy is known. So we'll have to deal with them as well.
