He thought becoming a Vampire was life-altering – then he met her…

As the only turned human in the Fallen Cross Legion, Tas struggles to find his place among the Vampire Warriors. However, the Kurai Senshi are different. Though rumored to be demons, Tas finds a sense of peace and belonging among the Dark Warriors. His work with the young Senshi would be reward enough, but one in particular has caught his eye and captured his heart. Jun Senshi was the dark to his light, the earth to his sky, the yin to his yang. If only she saw him as something more than a sparring partner.

Jun, however, is in Ohio on a mission of her own. Determined to avenge the death of her lover, she will move heaven and earth to destroy the Senshi responsible for his death. Blood runs cold through her veins, her heart a bitter stone. Then Tas walks into her life, and his light is as bright as the sun she has only heard stories about. Until him, the stars were the brightest light her dark soul had ever consumed. But in his eyes, she feels the warmth of a fallen sun.

Could his love be enough to turn her from her deadly path? Or is the power of the Shade so strong within her that she is destined to be consumed by its darkness?

A tale both exciting and illuminating.

Fallen Sun is a novel best enjoyed by following the entire Fallen Cross series but is satisfying as a stand-alone reading experience as a paranormal romance. Innovative approach to the vampire legend bypasses the undead to describe in exciting detail human emotions and desires without omitting special powers. Readers arrive in Fallen Cross, Ohio, starting as a haven for the supernatural then becomes a magnet for the battle between good and evil.

Ancient traditions conducted in a contemporary world, in the form of a brutal punishment, opens the heart to compassion. Hidden affection leads to the offer of place to recuperate giving an opportunity to make an emotional connection.

Alongside is the parallel backstory of a convict enduring the penal colony of Australia in the 18th century, including a detailed transformation from human to vampire. Characters benefit from immortality through collected years of wisdom along with an abundance of painful memories.

The parallel stories begin as developing relationships. Being familiar with Ms. DalRae writings, expectations are high – and she delivers. Intricate story lines touch on multiple centuries, cultures, lifestyles, locations, dangers, and eventual understandings. The confrontation been light and darkness is both exciting and illuminating.

I recommend a trip to Fallen Cross.

Light meets Dark
Jun appeared in Fallen Cross bent on vengeance against her lover’s killer. When she meets Tas, she also needs to guard her heart. She wants nothing to stand in her way as she plans to deliver retribution. But none of them have the full story as we follow bits and pieces of ancient history come to light. Tas is the Legion’s only turned vampire and he has always felt lacking, even though they depend on his unique talents.
The storyline is compelling, the characters well-drawn and relatable. The ending left me completely intrigued about what is coming next. Highly recommended for all paranormal or urban fantasy romance readers.
