From USA Today & Wall Street Journal bestselling author Michelle Heard, is a new STANDALONE, full-length MAFIA ROMANCE novel.
Our first meeting was at a nightclub, and it was something straight out of my most romantic fantasies. My ovaries exploded at the sight of the Russian God. And by God, I mean he was ripped, tall, dark, and deadly attractive. There were enough sparks between us to light up a city. Then an explosion blasted through the nightclub, and we got trapped together for three hours, sharing our most personal details... everything but our names.
Two years later, our second meeting is the complete opposite of the first. It's clear Misha Petrov, a Russian enforcer for the bratva, despises me. The emotional night we shared meant nothing to him. You see, my family is sworn enemies with the bratva and Italian mafia, which means Misha considers me a threat. I wish I could hate him the way he hates me. But nooo, my stupid heart wants what it wants. Every rough touch from Misha makes my skin tingle. Every low-rumbling threat growled through his clenched teeth has my breath speeding up. We might be sworn enemies, but I can't stop myself from wanting this dangerous man.
Then there's the other problem. If I can, by some miracle, get Misha to fall in love with me, we'll only have to face the entire bratva and my family. What could possibly go wrong?

Michelle Heard took us back to Monarch Academy. The place for killers/criminals all over the world to train and a neutral zone with no killing.
Misha and Aurora meet at a nightclub when Aurora sneaks out. She is a mafia princess and he is a Bratva enforcer but there is an instant attraction between them but they do not know they are enemies. In fact he should kill her. Then they both end up together at the Academy and the adventure begins.
Very well written and entertaining read. I always enjoy this author’s mafia books. Highly recommend.

First, this book reads like a YA novel posing as grown-up mafia romance. The dialogue, the setting, the awkward "conflict". It just didn't work for me.
Oh and warning, overly descriptive, unnecessary details, and flowery language used throughout.
Brand names are dropped like it matters to the plot, but it only serves to distract from the story. No one cares that she’s wearing “Dolce & Gabbana napa leather pants” or “a silver, sequined crop top. Paired with my favorite Jimmy Choo silver shimmer,” but the author seems to want us to associate brand names with class (they must have missed the memo that this is tasteless).
Also, no one cares that it takes a keycard to open a door, but it’s mentioned like 6 times in two chapters. A keycard is not interesting!!! What a waste of ink.
Then the plot. The H works for the Bratva AND Italian mafia?! How does that even work, they are two separate entities. “which stokes my temper because I should only be loyal to the bratva and mafia.” 🤔 Mafia girls, I'm curious about your thoughts on this.
The maturity level of the h leaves a lot to be desired. For someone raised in the life, she is very naïve to the world she lives in. Also she has the personality of a wet mop. “'I knew you were always vanilla.' Vanilla? What’s that supposed to mean?"
girl. really, you are 21 and don't know what vanilla means? get real.
The book is written in passive voice, which I have such a hard time with. I want active, alive writing, pulling me in and holding me in a choke hold. Internal dialogue is fine, but make it interesting. This dialogue felt so stilted and awkward with hardened criminals using words like “freaking” and “sucks”. Are these PG-13 killers??
I feel like I’m judging this book harshly, but it just doesn't work for me. It was not at all what I want in a mafia romance and I've discovered that this author probably isn’t for me.
''How do I remain loyal without letting you go?'' ''I don't know''
Safety warnings: - No cheating - No OW/OM drama - Descriptive torture/Violence/D*ath - Kidnapping - Blood play - HEA
Honestly this was so good. It again had the charm that I love in Michelle's mafia books and writing. It had the perfect mixture of plot and spice. The plot in this was not what I expected, and I really enjoyed seeing them go from strangers to something to enemies to lovers.
I loved their first encounter and the mystery between the two of them. Misha is OTT and really intense, but you won't see Aurora or me complaining about it.
She grew up pretty sheltered from the world her family is a part of and that actually goes against her when she enters St. Monarchs academy. She (nor her best friend) are both naive and definitely not prepared for what they have to do to survive the next 4 years.
Misha and Aurora come from two rival families and there is a lot of bad blood between the two. He has no choice but to step away and not allow himself to feel anything for his enemies daughter while Aurora is desperate (not in a bad way) to try to make it work. She sees him as her ''prince'', and it is justified since he saves her time and time again. His nickname for her? ''Little deer'' (in Russian) because of how skittish he found her when he met her lol
I should add that there were two descriptive torture scenes that had me wincing the entire time.
There are a few side characters that I am pretty sure will be getting their own books within this series and I honestly am excited for each one of them. I don’t want to spoil the two plots that I believe will happen as it's more fun to find them out once you finish the book but I am hoping the next book is about two individuals who sort of almost stole the whole show with their massive angst.
We also see some previous characters from the St. Monarchs world so if you haven't read that series or The Sinners but read this one and loved it - definitely give those two series a chance you will not be disappointed!
This satisfied my mafia (super-lite) craving well enough and the characters had decent chemistry.
I did think it was a little too insta-lovey...but again, at least there was chemistry. I will say that I think the whole St. Monarch's school thing is stupid (although I think I remember reading another book by this author set there too). I thought it was kind of dumb then too...It's very neutral ground a la John Wick's Continental, but I just don't see warring mafia/gang factions training together and teaching each other how to kill and torture...each other. Just seems stupid. I do enjoy the forced proximity elements this forces, but again...eh.
When Michelle writes this type of books my heart just exploes with emotion!!
Aurora and Misha were at the right place wrong time. They got to know one another on a deeper level when the club was bombed until Misha found out his little deer was really his little snake since she's the enemy. And made a vow to hate her that sorta works few years later when they both end up at the training facility and it's tension and love/hate between them I'm glad Aurora didn't back down even when her heart was breaking. I loved she had support from her bestie Abbie and the friendship they had.
Misha tried to stick to the hate but when his girl is bleeding and he was the one who didnt do it. All bets are off. I also loved that he was training her. But things did get messy with the family. And since her and Abbie still have a hot on their lives it's pretty hard.
And when things get more messy when the girls get taken.
Low angst, no cheating, secondary character, Drama, sexy times, virgin gal no manwhore

omg omg MishaAurora gave me everything EVERYTHING. They had communication, MAFFIA, rival families, forbidden love, such an interesting book and I’m HOOKED on this series like this is just book one and I enjoyed it so much ?? They made me feel everything. I loved Misha, he did everything so that his relationship with Aurora would get accepted. This book is so so 🤌🏻🤌🏻🕺🕺
AURORA is such a QUEEN?? the way she doesn’t take no one’s shit??? 🤟🏻🤟🏻
A fast paced Romeo and Juliet inspired mafia romance.
Two years ago Misha and Aurora met at a nightclub. Neither one knew who the other was. They have an instant connection. But when their identities come to light, the relationship is cut off before it can even truly begin.
Now, two years later their at St. Monarch’s together. A school where crime leaders send their children to train and learn how to survive in their world.
Can these two star crossed lovers figure out a way to be together?
Tropes: Enemies to lovers “Touch her and you die” Protector vibes Possessive/ jealous Virgin heroine Forbidden romance
A solid plot, fluid writing, action and intrigue, and SPICY SPICE!!
I was hooked by this story. Aurora had some great character growth throughout her story. She starts off as a somewhat meek and spoiled mafia princess but throughout her time at St. Monarchs she learns how to step up and becomes more mature.
The chemistry between Misha and Aurora is explosive. They’re perfect for each other. Their quiet moments together are some of my favorites.
I would have liked for some of the events at the end to be a little more fleshed out as they felt a little rushed, but overall this was a great read and I definitely recommend it!
I dunno, this started off really well as I loved the hate-vibes and angst, but things just dropped off for me the last 30% or so. It probably has to do with knowing Abbie's story as I read her story prior to this. I got (admittedly irrationally) annoyed with Aurora towards the end because she essentially dropped her bff like yesterday's news to fully prioritize Misha. I think a lot of shit could have been prevented if she disclosed some info to Abbie, but no, she didn't. That just made me so mad. I understand this is Aurora and Misha's story, but I think even if I read it in order, I'd be annoyed.
Anyway, I'm still looking forward to Armani and Alek's story.
This was a tough read until the H stopped pushing away. Once he gave in, he was all in. I can’t believe how much fluff there was in here, I loved every single moment after that breakthrough. 🥰
This was a 5 star rating because I felt satisfied and soothed by the ending. I love cheese and the ending was very cheesy. 😊
Im off to read Abbie’s book as soon as my heart calms down from all the drama that took place around 90% 😵💫
The spice is *chefs kiss * No cheating / no sharing
this was far too cringy for me. the dialogue was cringy and the FMC was annoying and naive and i honestly just couldn’t stand her. i skipped ahead to the spicy bit but i wasn’t intrigued enough to try to continue reading.
I love how Michelle Heard has continued to expand and fill out her mafia world. And going back to Monarch Academy is always going to be a winner for me.
Aurora & Misha meet on the best and worst night of their lives when a night club they go to gets attacked. When they meet beforehand and have amazing chemistry, they have no idea they they are from enemy families and they are doomed before they ever begin.
But neither of them forget and when Aurora goes to Monarch Academy 2 years later, she is stunned to see her dark prince there. And devastated to learn he is her enemy and wants nothing to do with her. What a set up and the adventure is just getting started.
This has the classic fast pace of a Michelle Heard romance and it kept me pushing through and flipping the pages ferociously. The characters had great chemistry and watching them fight their feelings kept the tension high.
I really look forward to the next entry and I have my eye on some couples I'm hoping for.

First Impressions Destroy Me is the first book in the "Corrupted Royals" series and in this one here we have Misha's book. I first met Misha in "Brutalize Me" with his sister's book and I was really intrigued about Misha and there were hints about his romance with Aurora, and I was very intrigued and I just couldn't wait to jump into this one. This author is really hard not to just binge all the time. Destroy Me was everything I could have hoped for and more. And especially once you read the blurb you know its going to be crazy and wild and forbidden in all that delicious angst. It has a Romeo and Juliet type of feel to the story and seeing our couple find their way to a HEA was epic. You are instantly pulled into this story and its easy to not be able to put this one down so you just know that Michelle Heard will really captivate your attention pretty quickly.
First Line "Abbie, wait for me," I whisper-hiss as I grab hold of my best friend's arm just as we're about to enter the popular nightclub she's dragged me to.
The Main Protagonists The Hero: Misha Petrov -Mafia Enforcer for the Bratva -Training at the Monarch Academy--2 Years left
The Heroine: Aurora D'Angelo -Shy and Reserved -Virgin -Mafia Princess
Summary Misha and Aurora first meet at a nightclub. There is an instant chemistry between them, and when there is an explosion, and they are stuck in a elevator, they build a connection to each other. But then its revealed to Misha that her father was behind it to kill him and his two other friends also enforcers for the Bratva and he releases that she is the daughter of his enemy and he has to force himself to close himself off from her as she is now his enemy and not the woman he was starting to fall for. Skip ahead two years, and Aurora's father is forcing her and her best friend Abbie, to enter into the Monarch Academy. Neither of them know exactly what they are getting into, but what Aurora doesn't expect is that the man that she loves to hate her and she is shocked to the core since she had no clue who he was. Aurora wonders if she can have that hate turn to love again and make Misha want to fight for them and find a way to be together...
What I Loved This has all the forbidden angst that I love so much to read in a romance. It was just utterly delightful to read how this one was implemented. Michelle Heard instantly grabs your attention with the beginning scene and I just love how she writes intimacy. And I am not talked about the sexual scenes, I am talked about the chemistry and the emotional bond that forms between Misha and Aurora. Seeing these two having to be in situations to deal with their issues and realize that they aren't really enemies and seeing the connection that they formed originally still just as strong as ever. I adored Aurora. We see so much character growth from her. We see her go from this shy skittish woman, to someone that learns how to defend herself and overcome her fears. Then we have Misha who is a badass mafia enforcer, he is bound by duty. I respected the way that he goes about fighting for Aurora and the ways in which he goes through the correct channels to have her as his wife. Its not easy of course, but he is so determined to keep Aurora in his life or die. I mean that devotion to Aurora was so sexy and appealing. We also see connections that are hinted at for the next couple which I am really intrigued by.
There is something in how Michelle Heard writes a romance. I am not sure why I slept on this series, I think it was the Monarch Academy as I know she has a previous series about this academy. But this book was so different from what I was expecting it to be and seeing all the forbidden chemistry building throughout this story was so beautiful and had such a epic feeling to the story.
What I Struggled With I didn't struggle with anything on this one, I loved everything about it.
Overall View Destroy Me is a thrilling installment that captures the attention, portraying such beautiful chemistry that gives you "in the moment" vibes that deliver deep emotion and well balanced chemistry.
Favorite Quote(s) Our bodies find a rhythm that’s uniquely ours. It’s both filthy and sweet, brutal and tender, addictive and obsessive. We become one in a way I never thought was possible, and it feels as if we claim a piece of each other's souls.
She becomes the reason life on this fucked up planet exists. She’s my big bang, my religion, my total obsession. My heart fucking beats only for Aurora D’Angelo.
“I love you. I know it’s not enough, but it’s all I have that’s mine to give. I love you.”

Steam/Spice Explanations
Steamin' up the room -the sexual content is more explicit in the language and tone, heavier amount of sexual scenes.
Fast-paced and intriguing mafia romance. These two are opposite sides of the war and are supposed to hate each other. but the Spark between them doesn't keep them away.
✨ 𝐀𝐑𝐂 𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐄𝐖 ✨ is there anything to say when it's written by Michelle! I mean it felt like I was home with this Mafia Romance.

𝙈𝙮 𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙬: 3 things i realised: a. I need a love life just like Misha and Aurora b. A best friend like Abbie c. A teasing funny friendship like them
Where do I start... the angst throughout the whole story was amazing. I loved how Misha cared bout her, like every single second. Not to mention, Abbie being the best book bff!! I'm rooting for Abbie and Nikolai's next or idk maybe Abbie and Alek but whoever it is ik it's again gonna be my fav
The Blood play scenes omg top tier for me! Every training session he and Aurora were constantly bickering with hot moments!!
𝙌𝙪𝙤𝙩𝙚: • If only you knew the blood that stained my hands. You’d run fast and hard to escape me. Only, you’d never escape me, malen'kiy olen'.

• I give her the boy who had dreams that never came true. I give her the man who dared to fall in love with the enemy. I give her all the darkness in my soul, the screams of the thirty-eight people I’ve killed. I lay my past , present, and my future at her feet because without her, there’s no point in living.
Another one beautiful, intense and fast paced journey by Mrs. Heard's pen!!! This story ticked many boxes with the enemies to lovers trope at the very top!!! I liked the setting and the development of this new story!!! I liked that we returned back to Saint Monarch's academy and I liked seeing old characters making an appearance... Don't you worry!!! This is a complete standalone, but for those that have read the sinners and the saints series, it will be a beautiful surprise to meet old friends!!!
"God help me. I'm in love with the enemy."
Misha and Aurora's first encounter was at a club and their instant attraction knocked them out on their butts... An unexpected fact made them come closer until they were ripped apart without even exchanging their names... Their second encounter was under different circumstances two years later... Aurora's smile froze when she saw the hatred in the man's, that she was dreaming off for so long, eyes... It appears that Misha is part of the Bratva and Bratva and her family are sworn enemies... Now, Aurora have to stay away from Misha if she wants to survive!!!
"The man I've built every fantasy on hates me. He's no longer my prince charming, but instead, my bully."
I liked very much the concept of this story!!! Misha and Aurora had an explosive beginning. Unfortunately, there were standing too many things between them, but I liked how these two came closer and stopped acting like mortal enemies, even though in the reality, they were exactly that.... Their love wasn't something acceptable from their families and they had too many obstacles to fight if they wanted a chance to be together and to freely love each other...
"I'm torn in two -the soldier who swore his loyalty to the bratva and the man who just wants to love a woman."
I really liked Misha... I liked his possessiveness and protectiveness for Aurora and his friends... Yep, he wasn't always kind to his little deer, but everyone could see how hard he was fighting himself to stay away from her... Aurora grow up throughout this book... She wasn't like Misha that he knew his place on this world from early... She was thrown to the wolves to fight for her life and god, she was very weak in the beginning... But with Misha's help, she became a strong woman. A woman capable to fight for anything she wanted... These two were just perfect for each other!!!
"How long will I keep lying to myself? Yes, we're enemies, but I can't make my heart stop caring about her."
And now, I can not wait for the next book... The agony is killing me for who will be next... I am really craving Abbie's book!!! If her man will be whom I think will be, then the result will be explosive!!! I just adore this mafia world that Michelle has created and I am kind of obsessed with every mafia story that they are coming for her...
"Haven't you heard? Love makes a person do crazy things."
**I received an ARC for the exchange of an honest review**
Plot Summary : What was supposed to be a fun night for Aurora turned into a nightmare when the club she was in was bombed. But she met the man of her dreams that night. They were stuck together in the chaos and shared the most beautiful moments together. And then he disappeared. Only to meet years later at the most prestigious university for Mafia Kids. Only this time he was not her knight in shining armor. He was her villain. The man who hated her and would ruin her.
Life was never easy for Misha.but it was amazing for one night when he got to meet an angel only to know that she was nothing but a snake in disguise. She was everything he was supposed to hate , then why did his heart beat so fast over her? Why did he feel everything but hate for her?
Overall Opinion : I don't think I can ever have enough of Michelle's tormented heroes lmao. They are just 🤌🫠🥹
Misha is one such example and reading about these two was everything. We are back at the academy with some new tales this time! This book was more like a contemporary romance for me with traces of darkness in it and that's the way I liked it. It was cute but so hot at the same time. Misha was something else 🫠
We also got to meet some of the upcoming heroes and their heroines and it was everything! The next book is going to be so freaking amazing and I can't wait.
Definitely recommending this one to all the dark romance loving people out there.
And we are back at St. Monarch’s!!!!!!!!! I really do enjoy Michelle Heard’s mafia romances. They are so good. Destroy Me is action packed, perfectly angsty and sizzling with the chemistry between Misha and Aurora. There are so many mafia romance books in the market but what I love about Michelle Heard’s mafia romance is that she doesn’t skim through explosive, violent ,dangerous scenes..it’s graphic and I am here for it!
I could not stop reading Destroy Me. As cringey as it sounds, Destroy Me destroyed me with a an absolute page turner of a book. The storyline was addictive, the characters were pleasant and the secondary characters were intriguing. Michelle Heard has once again given us a brilliant mafia/Bratva/organised crime romance. I don’t say this lightly..I cannot wait to read more from this series.
"I might push you away, moy malen'kiy olen', but I won't let a man hurt you and get away with it."
Well, this was certainly an interesting setting that Michelle Heard has come up with. I loved Misha & Aurora's story. It was definitely filled with some challenges but having an amazing set of friends by their side helped a lot. I loved all the side characters especially Abbie, Alek, Armani and Nikolai, also Viktor's appearance had me squealing! The plot was solid but the conflict was resolved so fast in the last chapters, which was unexpected. The book was low on angst but still, I am looking forward to continue this series because of the particular set of characters that are going to have their book come out next! 👀
"You can’t keep her alive if you’re dead.” My eyes snap to his, my heartbeat instantly speeding up
