Review of "The Dog of War #1" by Mike Chen

Disclaimer: I was graciously provided with an advanced copy of "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine-The Dog of War #1" in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

Prepare for an exhilarating ride in this graphic novel where Sisko's encounter with the Borg takes canter stage. The addition of Section 31 and the charming corgi, Quark, add layers of intrigue and whimsy. With jaw-dropping artwork and a gripping narrative, this series earns a solid five stars. It's a must-read for fans of compelling characters and unexpected twists.

Fans of Star Trek will enjoy this light-hearted comic featuring the crew of Deep Space 9. Quark's attempt to make a profit off a purebred corgi go astray when Borg technology is found. Overall, the story is sweet and light-hearted, but it also shows the lingering consequences of previous events. Even though I haven't watched all of DS9 yet, I found the story easy to follow and the characters well-written.
I received a free copy through NetGalley but was not obligated to write a positive review.

Corgis are cute, and it was fun seeing Odo turn into one. I don’t recall the TV series dealing much with Sisko’s hatred of the Borg, but I like how this issue is kind of touching upon that by asking whether he can be objective about using a Borg device to win the Dominion War.

Super fun story. Amazing art and coloring. Adorable corgi. It's Star Trek heaven. What more could you want? I went into this with zero knowledge of DS9 (but plenty of Star Trek knowledge) and faired perfectly well. As long as you have some basic knowledge of Star Trek and Starfleet, you'll be good.
