Short story about Angela and Caleb, former employees of Jess’s at Phoenix Inc. It gives us the story of what was happening at Phoenix while the events of ‘Shadowlight’ were going on from Angela and Caleb’s POV. In fact some of it is directly quoted from ‘Shadowlight’. This is a supplemental short story that really adds something to the series.

I really like this couple together. It’s the old story of two people both liking each other, but tiptoeing around the attraction until some major event throws them together, them BAM! Love!

Angela can see auras which was very helpful in Jess’s business. The events leading up to her joining the company are different but a little freaky. I wonder if that has anything to do with her ‘stalker’ tendency.

Caleb, although on the outside he’s the perfect gentleman and employee, really has a kinkier side though. And he’s a bit of a stalker too, but I guess that just a result of the business they’re in.

Quick Thoughts: 1)I wish I knew what it is about these ‘adopted’ moms that makes them go insane and reject their child before they die.

2)I like how they are able to resurrect the company in another form under their direction.

3)Though Angela is a computer expert, I can see another expert hand in things. Either Riodan or Vulcan.

4) love the way the abilities of the four (Jess, Gaven, Angela & Caleb) are intermeshed in the story.

Fave Scenes: Jess and Angela’s lunch meeting, the staff providing lunch and Jess’s final instructions to Angela.

This should probably be considered a prequel to Lynn Viehl's Shadowlight. The growth of a relationship between the two protagonists is cheered along by all their coworkers; they must overcome their insecurities in order to get together. I found the plot good, the characters likable and well drawn, but the paranormal elements were not explained well. The document also needed better editing and proofreading.

This was an interesting story, I wish that I would have read it closer to when I read the first Kyndred book as it gave some insight into Jessa. I did like the couple in this book, loved how they found each other and in the end protected Jessa.

Angela and Caleb are the main characters in this story. She goes through a lot and finally realizes quite a few things about herself and a few about her adoptive mom by the end of the story. She also finds that Caleb is more in tune with her than she thought.

The way of writing wasn't very impressive, not enough description. But i love romance novels and i love the psychic idea. Interesting. :)

Short and sweet - clearly not a fully worked-through or edited piece, but entertaining enough for a fan of the existing series.

Really enjoyed this one. Only problem is now I have to reread the rest of the series.
