It's hard to know a God we don't understand, and it's hard to love a God we don't know.
But our God wants to be known and loved, and He’s told us a lot about Himself in the pages of His Word.
Join Tara-Leigh Cobble in this 7-session study as she breaks down the intimidating doctrine of the Trinity. You'll discover a beautiful, foundational view of our Triune God that will transform how you relate to Him. Understanding God's three-in-oneness and each of the Persons of God individually—Father, Son, and Spirit—will lead you to deeper intimacy with God and greater joy in knowing Him!
This Bible study is jam-packed. You need commitment to read the daily chapters of the Bible, to memorize the verses, and to complete the study pages. It’s dense, but it is worth it. And there are other tools a student can access, for free or paid. The podcast is free. An audiobook of the study is available for purchase.
I guess that in my years of following Jesus, I have completed at least a hundred “official” Bible studies. Probably lots more than that. But I have never done one that is focused on the Trinity. I’m so glad I was introduced to Tara-Leigh Cobble and appreciated this study. I plan to use her Bible Recap for my every-odd-numbered-year read through the Bible in 2025.
Robin’s Ratings 5🌟 = Out of this world. Amazing. Unforgettable. A personal favorite. 4🌟 = Loved it. Will recommend to others. 3🌟 = Liked it. Glad I read it. 2🌟 = The book was okay, but I’ve enjoyed others so much more. 1🌟 = I didn’t like it and can’t recommend it.
This isn't a lightweight, Pinterest-board sort of study. It's a lot of work and some people (me) might not get around to doing the weekly challenges, prayer walks or memorization. But there's so much meat to chew on, and if you commit to listening to the weekly Scriptures and reading the weekly studies, at a slow pace if necessary, your investment will pay off. It's a relief and an encouragement to find accessible yet challenging Bible studies like this one.
this was a study book that I was doing with D Group & I really really loved it. we got to study the Trinity in ways that I’ve never studied it before and I definitely feel as though I get to know God more and love him more.
Great study! This book goes REALLY in-depth using Scripture to point back to the theology of the Trinity. At times, the “study” portion can seem dense. However, if you actually do it, it is packed full of great content. There were a few things that I didn’t necessarily agree with—I love that! I love being able to read through a study like this and actually THINK about what I believe. It’s challenging—and good. I would definitely recommend this study to do on your own or in a group setting! :)
The homework in this Bible study is very unattainable for people who have work and have children. Once you can get past that with grace for yourself, the content is great. It has changed the way I pray. It allowed me a better view of God as three individual people who all make up God. I feel like I know each of them so much more intimately. The podcasts that go with the book (on Spotify) were great too!
First, and most important: the study content and videos are excellent. Although I was initially intimidated by the amount of homework required, it turned out to not be so bad (to be fair, we did all but the last two sessions of the study over two weeks instead of one so the homework load was spread out more). I didn't mind reading the daily bible chapter, although I do wish the questions would have been either more specific to each day's reading or that we would have just been given a blank space to take notes. The weekly challenge and prayer walk were both nice additions, although I cut the prayer walks to 15 minutes as I had trouble focusing for 30 minutes.
Overall, this is a great study. I learned A LOT. The content was engaging and the study portions were well-written and loaded with scripture. I have a few quibbles with the way the study is set up, but that isn't a dealbreaker at all.
Goodness, what an amazing Bible study! Our ladies ministry at church chose this for our ladies Bible study, and even though I had heard of Tara Leigh Cobble and her Daily Bible recap, I had not participated nor listened to any of her podcasts. I feel like I know her (definitely her voice) really well now, LOL! This study was bordering on overwhelming in its content - with 7 daily readings plus podcasts, scripture memory, prayer walks, weekly challenges, as well as the requisite "homework" or study sections that we are accustomed to with Lifeway studies. Personally, and most in our small group, felt that this study was so jam-packed, it likely would have been better to have been a 10 or even 14 week study, rather than crammed into 7 short weeks. Still, it was great to dive into so much Scripture and learn so much about the three distinct but co-equal, co-relational, and co-eternal aspects of the triune God. I feel like I learned so much!
Great Bible study on the Trinity, really enjoyed going through this with a group of women from my church. It’s quite a lot of work each week, but a different format than other studies I’ve done (eg, similar work volume to a beth Moore study, but very different)… it could probably benefit from being 12 or so weeks in order to give 2 weeks for each study and discussion- SO many good discussion and so much meaty content and spiritual disciplines/practices included. I appreciated that the videos accompanying the sessions were 15-20 mins, which left a good amount of time on our group for discussion and prayer.
This Bible study was very helpful in expanding my understanding of the God we worship as Christians.
Three Foundations of the Trinity - There is only one God - There are three divine persons of the one true God - The three Persons are coequal, co-eternal, and co-relational
After reading this book I better understand the character of God and what motivates Him in His interaction with the world. I love Him more and want to be like Him.
I enjoyed the many reference to Bible passages to support the teaching in this book. I would recommend it to those who are interested in better understanding the concept of the Trinity.
Did this study with my D Group. I felt like I was in a seminary class that was ACTUALLY in the English language.
I know Tara-Leigh would want me to write something about what I learned: to see the Trinity come together and form perfect love and community before the start of the world was the first I had ever seen Our God in action as a God of 3 persons distinct in unity glorifying one another. The Dance as was a great discussion point and analogy. Just further proving that no Man could have ever invented Our God.
A fantastic resource, but I can't in good conscience recommend this book because the publisher is the Southern Baptist Convention. I found this out in the last week of the study, when I was looking for the next step. I refuse to give any more money to an organization that segregates their female teachers in women's only sections, hates queer ppl like me and my kids, and is literally founded to uphold white supremacy. Tara Leigh is a wonderful teacher, gifted by the Holy Spirit, but until she changes publishers I can't support her ministry.
Such a powerful study on the Trinity. Tara Leigh took such care to examine each aspect of the relationship between God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit revealing the ultimate purpose for creating us. It all comes back to love — a deep, mind-bending love that is reflected in each aspect of the Trinity. This study gave me a new understanding, pursuit, and shift in my faith to see that He’s (truly) Where The Joy Is!
This small group Bible study was a lot of work, but well worth it. Cobble leads you through learning more about each person of the Trinity to better understand the joy God has for us. This was one of those studies that left me feeling better about the divine plan of the God of the universe and like I understood how the Bible lays that out better.
Tara-Leigh Cobble focuses on the doctrine of the Trinity and it is amazing to try to understand and learn about it more. I knew of it, but did not fully understand until this study. I did this 7 week session at bible study and I loved how she really helped you to understand and find joy in all things. With a stressful life it can be hard to find joy sometimes.
i loved this study!! i learned so much about the Trinity through scripture and this study. the only thing i would change is the the setup of it, i think it could flow much easier with it sectioned out by days instead of parts.
This was a good study on the trinity. As with most topical studies, I felt like covered so much and left me spinning when I wanted to dove deep. I’ve never studied the trinity and learned a lot through this study.
This is a challenging and in depth study of knowing God. This book has helped deepen my faith and strengthen my relationship with God. I highly recommend diving into this beautiful and thoughtful study of finding joy and understanding the Trinity.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 A wonderful, very in depth look at the Trinity! @taraleighcobble does an amazing job breaking down each peace of the Trinity in a real way. A must read for anyone who wants to understand greatly The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit!
formational. i did not know how much i did not know. i did not know how much an understanding of the trinity would impact how i see God. well done & digestible. you will learn. you will love God more. and you will see how to be more like Him.
I started reading this book believing I was going to gain head knowledge about the Trinity. I ended it realizing I had gained heart knowledge about our God’s great love for us. ❤️
This is an excellent study about the trinity. It’s written by the organizer behind The Bible Recap (Bible reading plan with accompanying podcast). This is a rich study.
This Bible study really gave me a fresh perspective on studying God’s word. I will definitely be going back to this book to reread everything I learned about the Trinity.
It took me a while to get into the format of the study...so much so that it took about 4 months to complete. However, once I got used to the format, I devoured it.
