The Beachside Home is a delightful read that will warm your heart and send you away on a picturesque adventure about one woman’s journey to love again.
What a great start to this new series which I read in one sitting. The storyline and characters are introduced with hints of mystery. After the death of her beloved husband and buying a beach house from an online auction, Olivia with her teenage son and daughter. relocate to Pebble Beach. Her reception in the small tourist supported coastal town is mixed and there appears to be a mystery regarding the home she has purchased which is in need of a lot of repair. The realtor, Patrick Dillon, who sold the house, stops by to introduce himself and then invites Olivia and her kids to meet his children who are of a similar age. The beginning of a friendship ensues. We find that Patrick has some remorse for not sharing something about the home prior to Olivia's purchasing it that the whole town seems to know about. The story ends with a cliffhanger and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the next sequel to the book.
I received an ARC of the book and I am leaving my review without influence from the author.
UGH! I hate when I’m nearly done writing a review and I have to type it all over again because the app decided to crash. So, here we go again.

Olivia is striving for a fresh start with her children after the death of her husband. He’s been gone a year, and she decided to buy a beach house in Pebble Beach, NC. Upon their arrival, they begin renovating their home, and they are loving it.
Patrick lost his wife to cancer several years ago, and he also has two kids around the same ages as Olivia’s. He is a real estate agent, and he decides to pop over and introduce himself. He proposes a get-together with her and their kids so they can make new friends.
Olivia is grateful for meeting Patrick and his children, because the locals haven’t been very welcoming. All is going smoothly until Olivia is at the bank, the bank teller keeps asking her if she is sleeping well in the house, and suddenly, Olivia isn’t feeling so comfortable. What is wrong with the house? Could this explain the cold shoulders from the locals?
Olivia is a widow with 2 children. She works as a gemologist and jeweler. She's intrigued by an online auction bidding on some things for herself and her children. She comes across a beach house in Pebble Beach, NC and places a bid. She thought this would be the perfect start for their future. Her bid is accepted and sight unseen she and the kids move to NC for their new beginning. She meets the realtor, Patrick and his 2 children. They arrange an outing and share their life stories. While Olivia was asleep one night she hears a loud bang. Everything seemed ok but what was that noise? We'll have to wait for Book 2 to get some answers. I don’t know why they go through all the trouble to make a book only 50 pages…it was good and I enjoyed it but why? After the death of her husband Joe, Olivia buys a house on a auction web site. Sight unseen. She wins the bid, her kids are all excited. They move to pebble beach North Carolina. The realtor Patrick Mets her and he has 2 kids the same age as Olivia. They meet up and have dinner the kids get along great, Olivia is happy to see her kids forming friendships. She goes to the bank and the teller is questioning her ho is she sleep….Olivia can’t figure out what’s happening. The teller tells her the house is haunted. She calls Patrick asks why he did tell her. He didn’t believe the stories.
Olivia's husband was killed in an auto accident a year ago. She and her children, Ashley (17), and Kevin (15) were emotional wrecks. The kids were doing home schooling. Something was going to have to change. As Olivia was checking the on-line auction site she had found, she came across houses and property. A Beach House in Pebble Beach, NC came up on the site. She asked the kids the next day and they liked the idea.
So, Will she bid????
Where is Hayley going with this one???? To the beach, I hope.

I love these quick reads and look forward to Olivia's adventure in Pebble Beach. I received an advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.
A short story in a series of 6 short books- a life changing move for a widow and her 2 children. Buying a beach house site unseen on an online auction in the town of Pebble Beach. The house holds secrets that are just starting to come to life within the story.
I look forward to reading the next part to see the story unfold.
Hayley Summers' new series is here and off to a good start. It's about second chances after the deaths of their spouses, New locations, new friends for adults and their children. Stay tune to see what happens in book 2.
Hayley grabs your attention with this one. It is sad, loving and already full of hope. I picked up on an underlying secret almost to the end and can't wait to see if I am correct. Great beach read and once you start you will not put it down.
I love books like this that takes you in right away. Olivia lost her husband a year ago in a car accident & she & the kids are having a very difficult time getting through it. She decides they need a change so she is on line looking & she finds a beach house for sale & starts bidding on it. She was so afraid she wouldn’t get it & she didn’t want to disappoint the kids if she didn’t get it. So she wouldn’t look at it until they went to bed. She was ecstatic when she found out she had won it! She couldn’t believe it. She wanted to tell the kids but they were sound asleep. When she told the them the next morning they were ready to start packing right then. She was afraid of what the house was going to look like, but it wasn’t as bad as she was afraid. But here is we’re all the secrets start & it really gets interesting. I’m sure you are going to be hooked, especially if you like mystery with your romance. This one leaves you with a big cliffhanger.
I received this ARCbook for free & I am giving my review for free in my own words. What a book!
A recent death brings new choices. However, those choices have unknown consequences that are about to be revealed. On the other side of things her husband had a secret that is still to come out soon a year after his death maybe?
This is a very interesting book with the death of her husband and the move to Pebble Beach. The mystery of what is wrong with the house. I am looking forward to the next book.
I am not going to continue reading this series. Book was too short, the story did not grab me. The characters had no personality, and the way book ended with an incomplete sentence to drive you to book #2 was ridiculous.
1st book is an easy, engaging read. Simple, yet realistic. It flows well. So far, there's no real drama. It clearly starts setting the base for the next book. Of course, it ends on a bit of a cliffhanger to get you to buy book 2.
I was really surprised at how short this “book” was, and all of the remaining books in the series were essentially the same length. It was annoying to have to go download the next one just to get resolution on the cliffhanger. Ugh. I did end up reading the entire series because the story was pleasant and easy to read. However, I probably won’t read anything else from the author if all her books are this short. I feel like I’m cheating on my Reading Challenge count by counting this series as 6 books.
