Martial arts lore tells of masters who possessed a mysterious ability to defeat an opponent with a single perfectly placed blow. The Secret Art of Pressure Point Fighting transforms the ancient legend into a modern reality—an anatomically based fighting and self-defense system that allows a smaller defender to defeat a larger attacker by striking at the key points on his body. Straightforward and easy to understand, The Secret Art of Pressure Point Fighting provides a complete overview of the body’s vulnerable points and teaches how to stop an attacker as quickly as possible using a minimal amount of physical strength.

This author tried too hard to make his writing sound sophisticated, using big words & complicated sentence structure. He also consistently used the passive voice, which further complicated his sentences.

That pet peeve aside, there were numerous typographical & reference errors that I had to keep asking myself if I had missed something. After reviewing the errors a few times, I had to admit that I hadn't made an error finally. The author made references to meridian points that ... just didn't exist.

I really wanted to like this book; unfortunately, I almost didn't finish it due to the labored, complicated sentences & errors. It would have been the first book I haven't finished in almost 10 years. I'm glad I finished it, if only for that reason.

Fantastic book about the fighting origins of martial arts. Author does a great job of seperating out fighting from sports oriented movements without showing a great deal of bias towards either. This was a great find at a book sale for me.
