Not that I have ever claimed to be an expert on both, but I am aware of my chart and my top three especially and I know the basics of witchcraft. It was really interesting seeing how the two can blend together and I am intrigued to try some of the rituals and spells. Some of the information I am already aware of, but this is a nice beginner book.

I thought I would blow right through this book. I was very excited to get it and read it in Leo season. Unfortunately, it kind of dragged for me because it read like a series of disconnected blog posts rather than a cohesive system. Some of the “chapters” were likely coped from previously published versions of this book for other signs, because there were a few instances where the wrong planet or sigil was referenced. That turned me off for a lot of the book.

However, there are definitely nuggets of information that can be very useful, and interesting rituals that I’d like to test out. The book is obviously beautiful, and it’s helpful to have so much information about the sign collected into one small volume. It is a nicely condensed reference book. If I find myself using it in the future, I might pick up other editions for the other signs. Maybe not to read through thoroughly, but to use as easy references.

Discovering The Leo Witch Within

The authors, Ivo Dominguez and Coby Michael, has done an outstanding job in developing this series of books, based on your astrological sun sign. They discuss and advise you on what information you will need in order to fully enjoy the benefits of this book, such as knowing your Sun sign, the information pertinent in order to chart your birth chart to verify your Moon sign and rising sign, and the location and the time of your birth as exactly as possible.

In this book, the fifth in the The Witch's Sun Sign Series, the authors discuss the characteristics and traits of your zodiac sign, such as your tendencies, drives, and affinities. Additionally, information on the zodiac wheel is provided.

I am, particularly, interested in the zodiac correspondence that is provided for your individual zodiac sign. Because this is the Gemini Witch book, only the Gemini information is provided, such as:
• Power: To Will
• Keyword: Courage
• Roles: Executive, Artist, Politician
• Ruling Planet: The Sun
• Element: Fixed Fire
• Colors: Gold, Bright Yellow, Orang
• Shape: Hexagon
• Metals: Gold
• Body Part Ruled: The Heart
• Day of the Week: Sunday
• Affirmation: I bring the light, but I am not the light.

The authors provide detailed information on what you can expect when the moon is in of your planetary houses. Very thorough information is provided so that beginners can easily comprehend.

As with most great books, the authors discuss the tools, deities, herbs, incense, crystals, stones, and one of my most favorite topics, rituals and spells.

I truly enjoyed reading this book, and I thank the authors very much. Highly recommend.

This one was a fun read. It really felt like going under the hood of one of the most exciting signs to me. Leo is an easy sign for me to understand because I have a lot of Leos in my life, and I also have Leo rising.

Something I felt that this book really got across was how Leos have stronger, louder shadows than many other signs. Every sign has a shadow side to it, but Leo’s were theirs on their sleeve.

I think that’s why they get a bad rap compared to Aquarius or Virgo: they are beacons, bright lights drawing attention, whether they’re doing well or not. And that can be challenging when you feel like you are under the spotlight. Leo’s are hard to ignore, and that can be difficult for introverts.

They also have an independence streak that can come across quite negatively, especially in unhealed Leos. I felt like this book did a great job of explaining why you feel the way you do as Leo: you are under the spotlight, and Leo’s are hard to ignore. That can be difficult for introverts.

Leos also have an independence streak that can come across quite negatively, especially in unhealed Leos. I felt like this book did a fantastic job of gently explaining and exploring angles towards improvement for people who struggle with pride or selfishness.

Leos were championed beautifully by the contributors. Coby Michael’s voice was strongly readable and inviting, and I felt like his techniques, especially for shielding and cleansing, were very applicable for anyone who likes to work with fire energy. I also really enjoyed Gwendolyn Reece’s “Awakening the Three Light and Invoking the God Self” meditation.

I really enjoyed the portions of the book written by Ivo Dominguez Jr. It's very apparent how knowledgeable he is about astrology. As someone who only knows the basics of astrology, his chapters gave me so much insight into the system and how to utilize astrology in everyday life.

I was not as big a fan of the chapters written by the co-author. The writing was much more amateur. They definitely didn't hold my interest in the same way Dominguez Jr.'s chapters did.

I absolutely got useful information from this book and can't wait to incorporate some of these ideas into my practice.

I originally got this book because I have a planet in Leo and I wanted to understand it better. I was blown away by the depth of the descriptions of what it means to be a Leo (sun sign). The two authors, Coby and Ivo, are a great team. There was a lively balance and exchange of ideas. What I really loved was how invigorated I felt after reading it. Even though it didn't go into the other planets (i.e. Jupiter in Leo, I understood Leo much better, and with that knowledge, I understand my placement much more.

How does your Sun Sign fit into the way you practice? This book will guide Leo witches in just how to do this. It even includes exercises and rituals to guide you and strengthen your practice. This is well done and I can wait to read them all!

This is the fourth book in the series with Aries, Taurus, and Gemini being the first three. I can’t wait to get to my sign, Sagittarius. I plan to buy these as gifts for friends in their signs once they are all available.

This book is a collaboration between Ivo Dominguez and Coby Michael. Both have a lot of interest and background in the witch world. I am a newbie. I was a little lost at parts of the book. The spells and different sections were well laid out and it was interesting for me to read. I learned more about becoming a Leo Witch.

I think the concepts of this book were really cool and while I’m not a Leo I found some interesting ways to incorporate that energy into my life. My one this is that I think the authors should be careful about using terms from closed practices. Smudging is a native term only for them, and they also used chakras and other things that have been whitewashed by a lot of spiritualists.

I’ve recently started delving into the metaphysical space, learning more about astrology, spiritualism, and the like. This book was an interesting way to explore my sun sign, learn some rituals and practices, and harness the power that comes with it. It’s one that will remain on my bookshelf and be revisited time and time again. 🦁☀️

This is PHENOMENAL. I got so much out of this to use in my Pagan practice, and I'm not even a Leo sun. (Aquarius sun Leo rising here). The only problem is that now I want to read all of Dominguez's books...

While I didn’t find this information groundbreaking, I did really enjoy the astrological insights into my rising and moon signs as well as the rituals and recipes included. I loved the personal insight from Coby as well.

Series combines astrology and witchcraft. Should be popular with patrons but libraries would need to get the entire series which may strain budgets

Thank you to NetGalley and Llewellyn Publications for the ARC!

Leo Witch is an informative and engaging book that explores the intersection of magic and astrology from the perspective of a practicing witch. This book provides readers with a detailed overview of the Leo zodiac sign and offers practical advice for incorporating this astrology sign into your witchcraft practice. The book focuses on the Leo zodiac sign and its associated traits and characteristics and how to draw more of that Leo energy into your magic.

Despite being a seasoned witch, I found that there was quite a bit of information that I learned within this book. I especially loved the chapter that dove into how your moon and rising sign affect your sun sign magically and the chapter that dove into the deeper explanation of each Leo correspondence.

This book dives into a lot of different realms of witchcraft such as manifestation, tarot, glamour magic, deities, and magical timing, all with a Leo twist. I found it fascinating to learn about how manifestation comes easier to Leo sun signs and what deities Leo often finds best to work with!

I also appreciated all the spells within the book. While I wish there had been more (I'm always greedy for spells), I loved that most of the spells used accessible ingredients and were great for both beginners and seasoned practitioners alike.

While I felt that the core of this book was very informational and a great resource for any witch looking to mix astrology with magic, I wish there had been a bit less text surrounding the author's personal experiences and stories. While the copy I read was an uncorrected proof, it did seem like there was a bit more filler than I would typically expect in a witchcraft book.

Overall, I found this book to be a fun and informational read for any Leo witch who wants to bring more astrology into their practice or learn how their sun sign affects them spiritually and magically. Whether you're new to witchcraft or an experienced practitioner looking to deepen your understanding of astrology, this book is sure to provide valuable insights and practical advice.

TL;DR
- Great information about incorporating your sun sign and astrology into your witchcraft practice.
- Practical spells and deeper explanations of the Leo correspondences.
- A broad range of topics from tarot to glamour magic to deities.
- A bit more filler and personal stories within the book than other metaphysical books I've read.
