SIZZLING HOT EROTICA!!!
Fantastic writing, I couldn't put the book down. Even though the book is a short read it was full of lots of erotica action that will surely satisfy your minds sexual hunger.
Sydney is just an ordinary woman who has had her share of bad picks for relationships that always turn out bad. So she makes her mind up to become like most men and turn her heart off and gain the attitue of fuck em and leave em with no strings attached.
Sydney's stragedy gets thrown out the window when she meets Raimond (Black Panther) and he spices things up. She gets more than she bargain for. I loved the ending where Raimond is Sydney's hero and becomes her eternal soul mate.

A hot erotic read with a paranormal twist.
Sydney, having been burned so many times in the romance department, had decided that having one-night stands is a much better way to keep her heart untouched. Out to get laid for the evening at the trendy club The Panther's Lair, she got picked up by it's owner, tall, dark and handsome Raimond Decoudreau . They had wild hot set in his office, and then she decided to ditch him.
However the mysterious Raimond is not that easy to get rid of, and when Sydney's life was threatened, Raimond was there to protect her, and unwittingly revealed his own secrets. Now its up to Sydney to decide whether she is willing to risk her heart again to forge a bond with Raimond.
The storyline is pretty predictable, and for those who are into paranormal romance, the instant attraction, 'you're my soulmate', now let's get down and dirty premise, might no longer have its appeal.
Still, for a short read, The Panther's Lair is a pretty straightforward romance with very, very hot scenes.

THE PANTHER'S LAIR by Esmerelda Bishop was truly a romantic and carnal shape-shifter erotic romance! The hero, Raimond Decoudreau, is a shape-shifter, a panther, who owns a bar/club called The Panther's Lair. He is one alpha hero! He acts strong on his animalism instincts in both his human and panther form. His draw to the heroine was strong magnetic pull that he knew that he found his mate in her after many years.
Heroine, Sydney Chase, is recently out of a domestic violence relationship, and has always been in a romantic relationship. She vows that with her failure rate in them and always suffering the broken heart, her focus would be on her physical needs, with one night stands. Sydney heads to The Panther's Lair to search out in her one night physical affair and meets the owner, Raimond and she reacts immediately to him with his first words, strong of a French accent along with using some French endearments, his sexy body, his scent and his eyes, that often change to yellow. Sydney reminds herself often to enjoy the sex and make nothing more of it. As she takes more charge in their sexual activity, she makes some independent moves that gives her a feeling of control and strength.
Unknowingly, Raimond bonds Sydney to him, with their first lovemaking, with a mating custom. The session was very erotic, carnal, raw and intense with their sexual reactions. Concerned she may be taking on feelings in from their session, she leads him in different directions so that he would not be able to find her again. Sydney's past catches up to her and Raimond is there to assist but things move too fast for Sydney to comprehend who and Raimond really is. Yet Raimond can't give her up on his soul mate, but too he can't force Sydney to love him.
THE PANTHER'S LAIR by Esmerelda Bishop is over too soon! Its that kind of book that you don't want to end and hate to say goodbye to the hero and heroine (here's begging for more stories from this author!) Raimond's endearments, especially, 'Mon âme soeur', My soul mate could be felt just as much by the reader as the character! I could feel and see the goosebumps throughout reading this book. The mating called, archaic human custom, was so unique and sensual to read! Even-though not much more is given regarding any other panthers or shape shifter characters or its world, it gave all it needed to tell their story. Sydney's friend has a part in the story with little background who could be one to possibly have her own story and a HEA as well (Happily Ever After) (Just saying) The author did super in bringing about the mating custom smoothly right at the time it occurred. When the ending did come for this book, it was adventurous, gripping as well as so moving to read. Raimond is one special hero that said so much with his actions as well as his beautiful words. Sydney was a strong heroine that fought some difficulties both physically and emotionally in her life but could see and feel when it was love and didn't fight it long. It was great to see this not dragged on but confronted between them in resolving. It made it smooth reading as well as bringing out all the parts that made this book. This author Esmerelda Bishop made it so special with Sydney and Raimond in THE PANTHER'S LAIR. A first read of this author but here's hoping for more from Esmerelda Bishop!

This book is mostly familiar and predictable: girl, Sydney, meets guy, Raimond. They go up to his office and enjoy each other ecstatically for the evening. Sydney is not looking for a commitment but Raimond is because he has recognized his soul mate
When Sydney’s ex gets in the way Raimond’s secret is revealed. She is furious and then not so and is irresistibly,…, I have to leave some mystery.
So, not much surprise here. Good! There is a little bit of social commentary about domestic abuse – always a good thing. I read this in about an hour-and-a-half and the love scenes were very, very hot. If I were comparing it to peppers it would probably be a Scotch Bonnet. I could imagine how Raimond’s hands would feel. Of course these male characters should feel sorry for men who are merely mortal, flesh and blood.
If this kind of sex were real, I think lots and lots of couples would have smiles on their faces all the time!
Bottom line, you are going to get exactly what you expect from this novel, if your expectations are searing hot!

This is a super fast and sexy read with a nice taste of erotica with a dash of the paranormal. Sydney Chase has had it with relationships where her heart ends up hurt so she decides to have a one-night stand with bar owner Raimond Decoudreau. For a creature like him though, one night is not enough and Sydney soon discovers that man and beast can sometimes be one and the same.
This is a straightforward story where the emphasis is on the sexual interludes. The interludes are hot and varied and are a large part of the story compared to the action and the formation of the couple's relationship. This doesn't necessarily make for a bad story as long as you go in knowing that. The sexual interludes definitely keep you entertained.
Both Sydney and Raimond are likable characters with a strong inner strength. Raimond is sexy and goes after what he wants. Sydney's a bit more timid because of past relationships but accepts what he's offering when she realizes what life is like without him.
The villain in this story, an ex-boyfriend, is pretty stereotypical and is there just to bring Sydney and Raimond together. He floats in and out quickly with not much talk about his and Sydney's past relationship.
This is a fun story to read when you're looking for a fun way to spend the afternoon. It's a super short story that doesn't require much thought. It's the kind of story where you just go with the flow and enjoy the read.

This was a quick, hot erotic short story by Esmerelda Bishop. I enjoyed the pace of the one-night stand that turned into an unwanted bonding experience Sydney was not planning with mission ‘Get Laid’. All she wanted was to be like a guy a think with her vajayjay and not her heart for a night of sex with a random guy she picked up at a Local club, The Panther’s Lair.
What is her lucky but to get picked up by the hot, young owner of the club, Raimond who most likely picks up a girl every night? Sydney does not know Raimond does not mix business with pleasure but he must have her. Raimond has a French accent so when things get hot and heavy he speaks in French which drives Syndey wild but it also keeps things mysterious. Raimond calls her Mon ame soeur which sounds extremely sex however Sydney does not know that from the beginning he is calling her His Soul Mate.
Every story needs trouble and that comes in the form of John, Syndey’s dangerous ex who hit her once and that was all it took for her to leave but he is not letting her go. Raimond will not let what is HIS be hurt. He protects Sydney with his life but will he lose her in the process.

This novella is packed with a lot of very hot sex. Sydney has had a string of bad luck when it comes to men. She has decided that she wants sex and only sex with no strings attached. She ventures out to the Panther’s Lair with her best friend looking for a one night stand but instead she finds Raimond.
She enjoys spending the night with him but doesn’t want to leave him with any part of herself; little does she know she is taking his soul with her when she leaves. Raimond has a secret and wants to tell Sydney but fears it’s too early to reveal that she is his mate.
Sydney has recently broken off a relationship with an abusive boyfriend but he can’t take n for an answer. When he threatens Sydney, Raimond’s protective side comes out to protect her from harm. He fears that she will be unable to accept his true self and he will lose her forever. Does she accept him and become his mate? You will have to pick this book up and read it for yourself, you won’t be disappointed.
I enjoyed this novella and would definitely recommend it. I give this book 3 ½ flaming hearts.

So the main character, Sydney, has a stalker ex-boyfriend and wants to forget about him and her other failed relationships by going to a club to find a one night stand. Meet Raimond. Unbelievable hot sex. Best orgasm of her life. She leaves and gives him a fake number. He manages to track her down and decides to punish her by cuffing and spanking her. AND SHE LIKES IT. SHE FINDS IT EXCITING. Because every woman with a brain gets excited by that with a man she met less than 24 hours. She lets him cuff her. CUFF HER. A total stranger. Oh and he grabs a scissor to cut off her top. He could very well kill her with no second thoughts but, hey, it turns her on. Is that exciting? I don't find it exciting. Then he makes her promise to never leave him again. Is that romantic? Personally I find it incredibly creepy and amazingly stupid on her part. Her ex-boyfriend hit her and stalked her and she lets a total stranger to have completely control over her? Are you dumb girl? Then, of course, to complete this amazing novel...her ex, John, tries to kill her two times. She finds out Raimond's a panther shifter but it doesn't matter because he saves her and so she admits falling in love. In, what, three/four days? Lovely. My dream come true.

This book had so much potential! Loved the name, loved the description was thrilled to read it and when I did... plop!
Disappointment to the third degree.
The main character, Sydney, the reader couldn't connect with her in the least bit. If you read this little story you will understand.
The only thing in this book was sex, sex, and some more sex. That was this book. No love, no connection, no talking, just straight up sex. Which, hey that's all fun and whatnot but a better crafted plot and actual seduction would be nice. All Raimond did was throw her down or cuff her and did dirty things to her and she accepted it.
Also, the use of the big L word with only sex is not unexpected in an erotica but still nerve grating. Love is not what was in this story it was lust, sex and... another third thing that I know is there but haven't pinpointed. It's probably more sex.
(Sigh) I get it, it's erotica but that doesn't mean it needs to be soaked with repetitive sex scenes. I gave it a one stars only because the sex scenes were well done (if not a bit too much), nevertheless it was a fast, drenched in sex read.

THE PANTHER'S LAIR by Esmerelda Bishop is an erotic paranormal. It is a short story, its fast paced, full of steamy sex, shape shifter meets human soul mate,full of passion, and did I mention sexy love scenes. A sexy hero who is also a shape shifter looking for his soul mate. A heroine who is human, quick witted, only looking for sex and has a stalker. A boyfriend who hit her, she left him, he is stalking her now. She meets our sexy hero, who just happens to be a shape shifter looking for his soul mate. He finds her in our heroine, marks her but does not bond her to him yet. This is a quick read full of sex and passion but it also has a tender story of finding your soul mate, your mate for life and making them yours. Esta portada me encanta.. mirar a este hombre con su camisa desabrochada enseñando sus perfectamente esculpidos musculos XD.. y bueno.. me gustan mucho los felinos asi que el hecho de que integraran a la pantera en la misma portada fue genial :p..
La historia en general no es nada sorprendente.. aunque si lo es como piensa Sydney despues de sus rompimientos.. pobre chica que se enamora facilmente aunque los chicos con los que ande no tengan tan profundos sentimientos..
Y bueno.. Raymond con su voz baja y acento frances son una delicia.. sumandole lo cariñosamente posesivo que puede llegar a ser..en pocas palabras.. hombre perfecto :p..

You know, I've read erotica novels before, but this book is so sexually charged, it's ridiculous! (In a good way, lol)
You know, there are so many ways that erotica can go wrong. I've read some horrible books that just fall flat, and some so-so ones that didn't really keep you interested. But this book: it might be a short read, but the scenes are written SO well. There are actually times that you might want to go back and re-read scenes, cause you're thinking to yourself "wait, did that just happen? did he just do that!"
This will be a short review for a short novel. But I would highly recommend it. It's hot, hot, hot!!

The short length of The Panther's Lair impeded my enjoyment of this story. There wasn't enough time for the characters to properly fall for one another and read as "love at first sight" which I'm not a real fan of. Also the plot involving the ex would have gone a lot smoother if the book had been longer. Other than that the writing was good and humorous in places. If you're a fan of Moira Rogers or Shelly Laurenston then you might enjoy this.

The Panther’s Lair is an excellent short story full of eroticism and strong sexy characters. This story is sure to delight the reader with decadence all the while building a fast-paced plot that leaves you ready for a cool dip in some water to control the sizzle left in its wake. Not many short stories can give you great characters with enough emotional commitment to pull off a well-rounded story. Esmerelda Bishop has penned an excellent novella that I would recommend to anyone who would like a quick entertaining read. Enjoy!!

I was not terribly impressed with this book. As far as smut goes, it was okay, but the story line seemed to be somewhat lacking for me. I really enjoy smut, but it has to have a great plot to go with it.
Sydney seemed to really give in too much to Raimond for my liking, and although she has "sworn off relationships" she seems pretty eager to get into one with Raimond. I think if Bishop would have had more time to grow the suspense of who is stalking Sydney, it would have been much better.

I love shifter stories! This one is sexy from the start. Heroine is looking for something different and she finds more than she bargained for in the hero. What was supposed to be a one night stand turns into way more! For a novella, it packs a punch. I thought that it didn't quite carry the reader through the emotional points for the heroine, so there were some moments of disconnect.

79 pages of pure enjoyment and I wished that it had keeped going every page drew me in more and more

One of the best short erotic stories I have read. Still not really a big fan of the short story format because if it is really good I want more, if it isn't that great it's usually flat and doesn't give the story time to develop but this one was well worth it.

A quick hot steamy book that contains a sexy shifter, passionate woman and a crazy ex. Sydney and Raimond have chemistry and an instant connection that Sydney doesn't understand since Raimond is suppose to be only a one night stand. (Little did she know). Loved it.
