Kirillian Harmony Knox was one of the most successful bounty hunters in the galaxy--until a brain-eater named Prime became her only failure and escaped, landing her in jail. Now free, she'll stop at nothing to catch him and stop his murderous rampage.
Unfortunately for Harmony, fellow hunter Bart Tanner has the only available transport. Arrogant and ruthless, Tanner is known for killing most of his bounties. Harmony can't stand him--yet she can't deny the deep sexual desire sparking between them.
Once enslaved as a cage fighter by a cruel Kirillian, Tanner harbors a deep hatred for the alien race--though he's drawn to Harmony's luscious sensuality, and they soon indulge in erotic encounters.
When Prime puts out a hit on Harmony, things intensify, and Tanner realizes their lust has turned into something deeper--but if he and Harmony aren't careful, more than just their lives will be at stake...

Okay, I really enjoyed listening to this book. There were some issues with likability with the h early on, however, the ending really redeemed her. There was a ton of sex (and I love sex in a book,) yet I felt it was a tad overdone and repetitious. Overall though, a good, exciting read!
This is a sexy and rip roarin' fun sci-fi story about rival bounty hunters forced to work together to catch a deadly predator. Along the way they learn new things about each other and soon find that the thing they've been missing in their lives has been in front of them all along.
Harmony Knox is the galaxy's best bounty hunter, with the exception of one alien who got away who saw to it that she ended up in prison for the last year. After being released her first task is to hunt down Prime, the alien who ruined her perfect record. Before she can do that though, she needs to get her ship back. To do that she has to rely on fellow bounty hunter Bart Tanner. As a woman who's used to doing things on her own, Bart is a serious irritant to her way of doing things. She soon finds out how useful he can be though as he saves her from assassins hired by Prime while keeping her entertained with his sexual prowess. It soon becomes apparent how good they are together and when tragedy strikes will Harmony put aside momentary revenge for something extraordinary and long-term.
I really enjoyed this book! Exciting action sequences flow nicely into steamy romantic interludes. The sex scenes employ a bit of humor as well as some sweat inducing moment. Their connection starts in the bedroom but soon moves to the outside world where they become an unstoppable team.
Harmony is a strong female character who likes to do things her own way. She's a Kirillian, who by nature are known for their intellectual abilities, with a family who don't express their emotions. She was easily bored by her staid life and purposely chose a career the exact opposite to what she was expected to do. She's always felt a hole in her life and it's so romantic watching Tanner work his way into her heart When it matters most she casts aside her past and shows strong human emotion to choose love over reputation. She decides the future is more important than the past.
Bart Tanner is a character I swooned over the minute he came on the scene. Tattooed and full of emotional scars due to being imprisoned by the Kirillians years ago and forced to fight in the cage to stay alive, Tanner at first despises Harmony and plans to hurt her emotionally as payback. I ached for all that Tanner went through at the hands of the Kirillians and could understand why he wanted payback and I applaud that he quickly threw away his plan for vengeance the minute he realized how he felt about Harmony. Other books would have drawn that out to create tension and I'm thrilled that wasn't the case here. Tanner is sexy and funny and has no problem admitting his feelings. He's the perfect hero and he was a big reason as to why I loved this book.
I can't say enough good things about this book. Great action, great romance, and a fun couple with hardly any annoying melodrama along the way. Definitely take a chance on this book, it will leave a smile on your face.
Harmony has spent the last year in prison after being caught with illegal weapons when she was going after a dangerous target. Before that she was one of the most successful bounty hunters with a 100% capture rate so the first thing she plans to do when she is released is go after the one that got away. Unfortunately for her the only person available to give her a lift to collect her ship is another bounty hunter Tanner and the two of them really don't get along. When their boss insists that they work together to catch another skip there are sure to be fireworks, both in and out of the bedroom.
Harmony and Tanner are both tough, capable of looking after themselves and they like working alone so sparks are bound to fly when they are forced to partner up for their latest job. They both have very different ways of working and it isn't going to be easy for them to find common ground. Harmony is obsessed with capturing Prime (the brain eating alien who escaped from her a year ago) and she will do whatever it takes to bring him in even if that means ignoring her current mission. Her obsessive behaviour is enough to drive Tanner insane but he has a long standing hatred for her race and has decided to use her to extract his revenge. This doesn't go quite to planned though when he ends up starting to develop feelings for her but can he get her to open up to him?
Michelle Marquis and Lindsey Bayer have created an interesting world full of strange alien creatures that jump off the page as you are reading and Hunters is a great erotic read. I wasn't too sure about Harmony at first but as I got to know her she really grew on me. Tanner on the other hand I liked from the beginning, he was a real alpha male who wanted to be in charge but he also had some really sweet moments when he starts to have feelings for Harmony. I liked the fact that he was willing to tell her how he felt and didn't try to hide his feelings. Put the two of them together in a room and they couldn't resist each other which lead to some great steamy moments that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. I'll definitely be looking out for more by these authors in the future.
Hunters is one of the first ebooks to be released under the new Carina Press publishing. Bayer and Marquis create a Science Fiction Romance that is to be released on June 21st.
I am a huge advocate of the Sci Fi Romance genre, and absolutely love the fusion of inter-galactic travel, various alien races, and of course a happily ever after. Although this was not the best Sci Fri Romance I’ve ever read (and really, IMO who can top Sherrilyn Kenyon’s League Series?!), but it also wasn’t the worst.
Harmony is a Kirillian bounty hunter, and we first meet up with her as she is finishing up a one year prison sentence on illegal weapons charges. Fellow agency hunter Tanner is sent to pick her up from jail, take her back to her own ship, and see her back to the agency safely.
The two get sent out together on a mission to track down a new skip, and have to find ways to overcome Tanner’s hatred of the Kirillian race, Harmony’s inability to express emotions, and a burning passion that ignites a fire between them. As Harmony ventures out on her own to go after the one who got away, and caused her year long stint in prison, the two will have to try to work together, if they want a chance to fight for each other.
There were parts of the book where I felt as if the story kinda veered off the beaten path. Tanner, with his burning desire for revenge, and intense hatred toward the Kirillian people; didn’t seem to really work out his anger and hatred before falling for Harmony and forgoing all his plans to take it out on her. Harmony, with all her rough and gruff attitude, seemed to be too nice and sweet at times. Although the inconsistencies were little and far between, they still just had my teeth on edge.
However, the world building was fabulous and the descriptions of the different kinds of alien races, and planets created vivid images in my mind. The passion between Harmony and Tanner was smoking. The plot was inventive and great. And PS, how great is that cover? LOVE IT!
All in all, I give Hunters 2.5 out of 5 bounty hunters.
Harmony is a tough ass chick who is determined to get the one who got away. The one probably isn't who you think though. The Prime is an alien who has been out killing the peaceful people of the universe. You see, Harmony is a bounty hunter. When she gets released from prison (don't ask, she's already pissed enough about it) her ride wasn't exactly who she hoped it would be.
Tanner doesn't exactly like Harmony - they have a bit of a competition going on -and he despises her race, cause they forced him to compete in tournaments. But the two of them sizzle and can't help themselves.
Together, unwillingly (thanks to their boss Edna - who I keep imagining as Edna from the Incredibles), they have to work together to go capture the skips -those doofuses who skip out on their bail?
There were definitely some amazing scenes - sizzling, edge of your seat, suspenseful - just to name a few descriptors!
This book reminded me of a cross between Firefly and Star Trek. If you liked those, you will most likely enjoy this book!
Inconsistent characterizations were my biggest problem with this, starting almost from the very beginning (first glimpse into Harmony's feelings on the hero are violent and vehement, yet two pages later, she's thinking how she really doesn't dislike him). The fact that I really didn't care for the authors' voice only exacerbated an already difficult to enjoy read.
Love the characters and their attitude toward each other was wonderfully written. How the hated each other but yet depended one each other. Really good read.
