The Author: She is a prolific writer. She writes as though she is actually talking to a live audience, as though her audience is before her. You can’t help but laugh along with her. Her exclamations such as Pulhzeeeee, girlfriend e.t.c she is a captivating, fun loving and full of life author, she’s got so much energy in her, you feel it while reading the book.
The Book: There is a diva attitude that should be cultivated, which she calls diva-tude The book is divided into 3 Parts: Get your head together, get your life together lady. Discussing the bible characters such as the Shulamite woman, Queen of Sheba, Mary, Lydia.
What I learnt: The importance of having a relationship with the creator is emphasized. Afterwards the importance of knowing who you really are. A diva isn’t self centered, she knows it’s not about her. It is about the greater good for all. It is not the severity of the storm that you should be concerned about, but rather how you weather it. A diva is a diva whether broken or thriving, wealthy or poor. A diva is not humiliated by her needs, but rather is profoundly in touch with them. There is no excuse for bad behavior because she chose not to bow to temptation. She knows that life isn’t about her, but rather about the contribution she makes to others around her and the legacy she will leave behind. She does not associate with others who are competitive, those who entertain constant drama in their lives or harbor negativity. They set fashion trends they don’t follow them. She keeps her eye on the big picture, choosing her battles wisely and remains cognizant of what is truly important in the long run.
Some Tit-Bits: • Practice the art of silence • Cultivate a life of prayer and consistent spiritual devotion • A wise woman lives on the principles of prudence, knowledge, discretion, counsel sound judgment, understanding and power. • If your trust and respect must be earned, so also your love • Plan your work and work your plan • The diva knows how to win her battles quietly
This book has given me a whole new view of what and who a diva is. I feel empowered and prepared for the journey ahead of me now. I must admit, there were some "ouch" moments because I must improve. What I thought soon was corrected, and I am the better for it. Thank you, Ms. Hammond for impressing upon my life that God requires excellence and I am worthy to be called "Diva" without the negative connotations. Awesome, awesome, awesome read!!! The book club I joined is now filled with ladies who are ready to proudly own the description...Diva!
I'm a Divine Inspiration Victorious Attitude having DIVA. I am spiritual and embraced by my lord and savior. I have struggled with my past and made the best of my current life and not concerned about my future because I know who holds my future in their hands. I don't concern myself with the resistance I feel from others or there opinions because I have caused myself more harm than they can come up with. I have learned to forgive myself and forgive those who have caused me harm.
I know that in the future I will be able to teach others and have a lasting impression about the word of the lord and savior. Great book and to be used for future reference.
I received my book Tuesday of this week. I'm already half way through it. With the examples of the women in the bible that she has used to prove the diva and not so diva point of view for each. I am able to relate. It is a goodread for sure.
