My aunt who sent me the Get Real series told me I'm already too old to appreciate these "younger" stories but ZOMBIES!!! IN CASEY SMITH'S WORLD!! Horror-some!! How can anybody be too old for that? Mixed with creepy graveyard visits and Internet research on dead 12-year-old girls, this is a story on appreciation of identity, ancestry, history, and even race. Although very much set in the "Americas," I could still relate to the curiosity of each one of them - Casey, Toni, Gary, Ringo, Megan - towards their assigned "deads" and respective issues revolving around The Day of the Dead. Casey never fails with her insights, adventures, and fun sarcasm so "hiding out in the bushes to catch the real story" was lots of fea--fun. Read this at night to for fatter goosebumps!
