A very readable work of military history which goes into meticulous detail of the experiences of all the regiments in Pickett's division of the Army of Northern Virginia on 3 July, 1863. It's possibly not for everyone who has no interest in the subject. As that's not me, I found it very enlightening. The title comes from a quote from a soldier who lived through the disaster, and summed it up by saying that the soldiers won nothing but glory and lost most of their best men.
