Skyler grew up in Southern California, under the best weather that state has to offer. So, he's shown a little of his insanity over the years in moving to colder, wetter places: New York City; Provo, Utah; Bainbridge Island, WA. He now resides with his family in Texas, which (apart from the humidity) gives him that great weather once again.
Skyler has been and continues to be a leader and executive with multiple Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 companies, working across a variety of functions, both technical and non-technical. In other words, he's very much a jack-of-all-trades but master of none. Maybe that's why he has now decided to be an author as well. In it, he’s finally found the thing he loves to do most.
Mr. Ramirez currently resides in Texas with his wife, Lindsey, and their four children.
The Four Worlds: Subversion” by Skyler Ramirez is the second installment in The Saga of The Four Worlds trilogy. It is a highly exciting and mind-bending text that presents well-scripted themes of perfidy, susceptibility, and risk. The read follows the journey of Jinny Ambrosa and Tyrus Tyne after their adrenalizing escape from the Council space to Earth.
Tyrus has been tasked by the joint chiefs of the Free Colonies Navy to issue a brief regarding an upcoming Council Navy forces’ invasion. The brief includes demonstrating some proposed upgrades to the navy’s ships and tactics, which he strongly believed would mitigate the advantages in tonnage and weaponry that the adversary had over theirs. Tyrus is, however, internally certain that there is a decent chance that all the warships the Four Worlds can field wouldn’t equal the numbers and tonnage that the Council can send. Readers may find themselves sympathizing with the government leaders’ insensitivity towards the threat level, particularly when it’s revealed that the villains plan to send an over-strength task force that will spy on exactly what the Four Worlds’ military forces look like, as well as the political situation.
This is a text that delves into the deepest corners of readers’ imaginations, by shifting their perspectives and thought processes through the creation of new settings and ideas. The riveting storyline, phenomenal writing, and story progression have been ably mixed to offer a thrilling ride, as readers get transported into fantastical universes. This sci-fi beautifully probes everything from the human experience to the future of humanity, particularly with the reporting of possible invasions by mainstream media, regarding aliens and other extraterrestrial beings.
“The Four Worlds: Subversion” by Skyler Ramirez is undoubtedly a sizeable book that displays an incredible portfolio of the author’s wit and careful thought. He has pulled true-to-life details and employed mastery to describe an exciting and perilous mission, which fans of ”The Four Worlds” series will love following. The read stands highly recommended for young minds who love space operas and adventures, as well as futuristic worlds.
I don't like dystopian novels because our own society is one right now. I don't want to read, when I relax, about a society that is like the one I live in. Having said this, I have just finished reading all of volume two and will read volume three when it comes out in paperback form. I do appreciate the way the author has handled this subject and his insights into our society here in the United States. Don't be fooled by this novels setting in the far future. Our own society may not be quite yet to genetic engineering, but our leaders achieve by the daily propaganda messaging we get constantly the same effect. We, at the moment, at just a shade freer, but that will soon end. The UE President is as foolish and crooked as the current U.S. President. Our enemies hopefully have the weaknesses as the enemies in the book. I think the author is right about how easily all our freedoms slip away as people are fooled by the media and political types. Hopefully plenty of people resist in the future.
If you thought the first book was good, wait until you read this one. There are so many twists and turns in this story that my head is spinning. This book is action-packed and very entertaining. The characters are fleshed out very well, and they left you thinking about what would happen to the next. I think Mr. Ramirez's writing quality has gone up a notch with this book. I can't wait to read the next one. I highly recommend this book and the rest of the series.
I enjoyed the journey that this book took me on. It follows the storey line of the 1st book and builds on it keeping it interesting. At some points if felt like there were too much repetition in the writing, but then the repetition reveals a different aspect of the story making for a intriguing writing style. The story is not done, so I will read book 3. Thanks Skyler Ramirez!
