A helpful book for me because of some people I know with abuse in their past--which isn't exactly in the past, as it lingers in their heart and hurts all over again, especially if we are not careful and sensitive to their feelings. I don't agree with all Joyce Meyer's theology or, perhaps, methods of recovery, though it has helped her and may, indeed, help others. Most of it in this book aligns quite with Scripture, though, I think.
The author speaks from experience, which helps me to understand the deep and long-lasting effects of abuse, to work on relationships, and to pray when I can't help, for the ultimate help comes from God and His Word.
