This is a really tremendously interesting book.
One bulls-eye thing you get immediately after reading the book is the ease with which beginners, perhaps who are not yet initiated into meditation have the possibility to experience a trance like state called the "alpha mind state"
Though the system has its own disadvantages, it is still a vital tool to improve your creativity, calming your nerves and your body.

DNF - I started reading this book, thinking that somehow it would be better than the original 1977 book by Jose Silva. Boy was I wrong. This book is full of unsubstantiated mysticism, making constant mentions to a "higher power", to the point that it is distracting and subtracts value from the message.

The Silva Mind Control System, which seems basically a method for self-hypnosis and programming oneself via mindful visualizations in Alpha states, is secular. It works regardless of any religion or spirituality conflated as hidden baggage because it is based on meditation, which has in fact been proven to work for business folks military and of course the traditional realms of Buddhism and Zen.

I understand that Jose Silva, was a believer, I respect that, which may have led Bernd to write this book, but IMO, the way the techniques are taught is better in the 1977 book.

The Silva mind control system was big many years ago. I did not really have much of an interest then, but I did see something about it recently and tried to take the book out of the library. It was unavailable but this book was available, so I took this one out. The first half of the book is about the technique, and the second half is short accounts of people who used the technique and how it worked for them. All about getting to the Alpha state.
