Book Mate: A Time Travel Story for Men

Rate this book
I’d had a hard start in life, but now things were finally going my way. That is until the front doors of my hallowed Library where thrown back as the government stormed into my personal space insisting on having their way as usual. I’m not sure how it all fell apart then, but before I knew it - there I was being worked over like I was public enemy number one. They thought I knew some secret about the Library, but I didn’t. Even if I had…..I would never have told them.

This is the story of D’Asia, though fortunate to be the head librarian of one of the most prestigious and privately held collections in the world, she soon finds out that all is not what it seems. Indeed the very library that she knows like the back of her hand is so much more than she ever imagined.

If exciting action, suspense, erotic romance, time travel (quantum jumping actually) and stories that have a deeper more personal meaning are your cup of tea, well then sit down and enjoy, Book Mate. It checks off all the above and more.

Author of Erotic Christian Fiction

Up till now only half the story has been written and so now it's time to read everything and not just what many have found acceptable. The truth and love itself are not bound by man, but are timeless and should be shared in full and so I write the whole story.

Sincerely, Aedan Sayla

"Book Mate" by Aedan Sayla is a complex and provocative novella that blends elements of erotic romance, time travel, dystopian fiction, and suspense. The story centers on D'Asia, a librarian whose world is turned upside down when she discovers the hidden secrets of her prestigious library.

The book's strength lies in its ambition to tackle multiple genres and themes. The blend of erotic content with dystopian and time travel elements creates a unique and intriguing narrative. D'Asia's journey from a seemingly ordinary librarian to a key figure in a world-altering mission is compelling.

The author does not shy away from explicit content, as clearly stated in the content warning. The erotic scenes are vividly portrayed, and the inclusion of non-consensual elements may be a trigger for some readers. However, these elements are integral to the story and contribute to the overall sense of danger and urgency.

The time travel aspect, described as "quantum jumping," adds a layer of complexity to the narrative. D'Asia's transportation to an ark filled with books and items to rebuild a collapsed world is a fascinating concept that invites reflection on the power of knowledge and culture.

The novella's brevity is both a strength and a weakness. While it allows for a fast-paced and engaging read, it also leaves the reader wanting more. The story could have been expanded into a longer novel or a series, which would have allowed for greater exploration of the characters and the world-building.

Overall, "Book Mate" is a provocative and thought-provoking novella that blends multiple genres effectively. It is a compelling read for those who enjoy erotic romance with a touch of dystopian suspense and time travel.

Rating: 3.5/5 stars. The book's ambitious blend of genres and its thought-provoking themes are commendable, but the explicit content and non-consensual elements may not be for everyone. The novella's brevity also leaves some aspects of the story underdeveloped.

My Rating System:
1⭐️: The book didn’t hold my interest and/or had significant issues that overshadowed any redeeming qualities for me, but generally not my cup of tea. Most likely did not finish the book.
2⭐️: The book didn’t quite resonate with me, and while my experience wasn’t remarkable, I did finish it. It had some redeeming qualities and potential but fell short in execution. Recommendable, though with some reservations.
3⭐️: Good read, but didn’t quite stand out. Still worth recommending to others.
4⭐️: Really enjoyed it and stayed engaged throughout. Would read book again. Definitely recommendable.
5⭐️: Incredible writing that made me deeply connect with the characters. I was completely absorbed in the world and didn’t want it to end. This book stayed with me even when I wasn’t reading it. I'd gladly reread it and highly recommend it to everyone!.

A leap of faith.

D'asia, twenty-six year old modern woman, beautiful, caring and chosen.
She's been through a lot in her life and now her entire existence has changed. Saved and protected by her employer, chosen by him for extremely important task and transported in an ark full of books and items ready to rebuild a world that broke down and collapsed in on itself.

Book mate is compelling and highly erotic. Not for young readers due to the sexual details but definitely food for thought with the rest of the story. D'asia has to navigate situations that more mature people would struggle with and to be honest, I think she handles it really well. Her world is turned upside down but she works her way though the fear and uncertainty.

A standalone book that could easily have been made longer or part of a series. An absolute must for a book club as there's a multitude of topics for discussion but if you're getting cosy at home grab some snacks and enjoy.
