Rachel Coleman and her sister Emilie Brown have created a to help children learn sign language. This book teaches signs that a child can practice at home. Some of the signs are cookie, boy, girl, hot and cold. The video that is sold goes right along with the book and adds a lot of movement to the signs. I have several of these books and videos.
These books are great. It's difficult to find ASL in a board book! The signs are clearly illustrated. There's a picture, the written word of the sign, and hands making the sign, which arrows for a directional guide, in addition to an explanation of how to make the sign.
We watch the videos and practice signing. My daughter spent hours reading these books to herself, and signing with each page. I want them to make more!
