As kids, we had an unexplainable bond. One I don’t think we even understood back then.
Over time, the pull between us developed into something we could no longer ignore.
We were reckless, we were impulsive, we were… everything.
Until it all came shattering down.
Now, he’s a single father and I’m the estranged best friend who’s still hopelessly in love with him—Eli Barton, America's favorite baseball pitcher and the man I walked away from.
What was supposed to be self-preservation may have turned out to be the biggest regret of my life.
Reckless Impulse is book two in the Reckless hearts series of interconnected stand-alones.
A New Yorker and a Southern Belle. Two Book Obsessed Babes that became lifelong best friends over their love for a good romance novel.
When they're not writing, they're devouring a good book, or spending time with their family and friends. Total opposites in some ways and exactly the same in others, making them a dynamic author duo.
Single dad stories are a hard sell to me. But this one really hit the low bar. Spoiler (but not really since it’s outed as single dad in blurb lol) He knocks up a cheat chaser with twin girls just when mmc/fmc solidify their relationship after years of casual sleeping together and being best friends. She is pregnant at same time but miscarries same day/same Dr office she sees him go to Dr. Visit with the cleat chaser. (Really? Same day same place author???) He does really try to involve her in the twins journey, she even visits them in hospital. She steps back and gives space for months as he settles into being a dad. He is never with the cleat chaser, she was just a one night stand Money child support chaser (she even admits/ says so in book ugh). He weirdly build a “two family house” where they live jointly yet separately (Ick again). The baby mama eventually ends up letting fmc adopt the girls (cause she’s is a party girl) and fmc becomes their mama. Ugh. Way to go author, writing a birth mother out of a story to conveniently make it easy for fmc to scoop the babies up. 🙄 But even finishing the story with an epilogue where she gets a baby of her own 5 years later just feels Ick Ick Ick. Its one of those stories where the nasty cold feeling in the pit of your stomach never goes away no matter how he says he is sorry how much he shows he loves her and he wishes she was the twins mother or even when she finally gets pregnant at the end. The Ick stayed and they shouldn’t have stayed together. It just felt convenient for him to have her step in ages mommy everyone. This is one of those situations where she should have walked away. She ended up basically being the kids nanny mom. Those reviews that said “oh my, Quinn is so strong for being able to get over it” even worse……….. she isn’t strong. Strong would have been walking away from a toxic man And a toxic sexual history with him and finding one without the history and emotional baggage. She settled. And that’s sad.
Eli and Quinn 💜 Best friend4ever to Forever?! Or not?! Maybe?! Hopefully?! 😏
I loved their story so much, and I love them so much. Both characters were written so beautifully, while Quinn was made to unapologetically be a badass, Eli was written by women who knew what the eff they were doing. They were everything and more. Their heartbreak became my heartbreak, their love was so, so unconditional, and the road to an eventual life contentment was so well worth…the wait (or is it?!). No spoilers here. I promise that going in blind is the way to go. 🫶🏼
I already knew I’d love every single character from when I read “Reckless Abandon.” The family, the bond, and the love & care they all have for one another. All the parents crack me up every time they’re in the scenes. They’re chefs kiss 💋
The family members are literally all so amazing and something I wish everyone had in their life. But despite everyone being so fucking amazing, Eli and Quinn tops them all for me - no doubt. 🙆🏻♀️ They spoke to me in a different, more personal level. 🤧 I was sobbing one second, while cackling out loud the next. Their story, to me, is definitely an unforgettable one, not only cause it’s made me feel all the emotions the characters were feeling but I’m also grateful for the life lessons that came with reading their journey.
Ugh. I just love them so much. I’d totally read this over and over again. 🥹🥺 I can’t wait to get my physical copy and annotate the heck out of that book. There’s so many great, swoon worthy quotes, and even more spicy scenes you can highlight and refer to later LOL. 🫣 I just cannot wait for everyone to read E & Q’s journey. Prepare your tissues 🫣
The bookbabes duo of L.A. Shaw really outdid themselves with this one and gave E & Q’s story justice, even with the tears and sobs along the way. 🫡👏🏻
Nothing compares to a love between friends. To know that no matter what life throws at you, there will always be someone there to catch you or fall with you. Quinn and Eli's story made my heart hurt in the worst ways. To find someone in life who loves you unconditionally is the best feeling, but to find it at such a young age may be the worst heartbreak. Life throws the most unexpected *curve balls 😉* Will a love as reckless as Quinn and Eli's be able to withstand the obstacles? You'll have to read this book to find out, I promise you won't be disappointed.
Laughter, love and long breaks of crying is expected.
These authors have come a long way since their debut. Every book, you can see the growth they've made in their writing and ability to create something magical that will leave a lasting impression.
I was actually given the chance to beta read this book & to say I was blown away would be an understatement. This book will take you on an emotional rollercoaster but trust me when I tell you, IT’S WORTH IT 👏🏼
This is book #2 in the Reckless Hearts Series, following Eli & Quinn. They have been best friends since they were kids. Until one day their relationship takes a turn & they decide to add some ✨benefits✨ to their relationship, agreeing to keep things casual between them but always remembering their friendship comes first. Of course over time feelings get involved & after years of casually hooking up, they decide to they’re it for each other. Until one phone call changes everything…
You could FEEL the love these two have for each other. When I tell you I cried for probably 60% of this book, I’m not kidding. There were happy tears, sad tears, & everything in between. Eli & Quinn are just one of those couples who truly are soulmates. A love that some people can only dream of. While their story wasn’t easy, it sure was beautiful! Their chemistry is unmatched. One thing L.A. Shaw absolutely knows how to do is write some damn good smut.
Thank you L.A. Shaw for allowing me to beta read for y’all. I truly love Eli & Quinn’s story. One of my absolute favorites. I can’t wait for Ava & Parker’s book next after seeing them interact in this book!
Tropes: - Sports Romance - Childhood Friends to Lovers - Single Dad - Forced Proximity - Best Friend’s Brother - “It’s always been you”
“He may not have been my first best friend, but he was the first and only person to own every part of me.”
“No one else’s loyalty and dedication compare to Quinn’s for the people she loved.”
“I promise I will still be here when you need me. I’ll always be your best friend over anything else.”
I literally stayed up til 3AM to finish this amazing book. The amounts of quotes and scenes I have highlighted is crazy. You two ladies did a fantastic job with this masterpiece of a book, if I could give it infinity stars I would. This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster, I’m truly having a book hangover after finishing this last night.
I love that we get the whole timeline of how they met and the progression of their friendship/relationship, how these two were always there for one another, always there to support, and willing to put each other’s happiness first.
Quinn “Queenie” and Eli “Hotshot” have been best friends since they were young. Their parents and siblings are very close, which led them to also having a close friendship, basically being inseparable. They’re more of best friends to lovers to being soulmates, it’s always been the two of them despite all the curveballs thrown their way, they always find their way back to each other.
I love every single moment in this book from the supportive friendship and family dynamics, to the it’s always been you, and seeing the growth of the characters especially when E & Q took care of A & S. The freaking eskimo kisses makes me heart melt, the sweetest thing ever. Seeing E as a dad, warmed my heart and made me swoon so hard.
I can go on and on about this book, soooo freaking good. HIGHLY recommend.
Tropes: ❥ Baseball romance ❥ Single dad ❥ Best friends to lovers ❥ Second chance romance ❥ Forced proximity ❥ It’s always been you “soulmates”
Thank you L.A. Shaw for the opportunity to read this!
This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster from start to end. I stayed up waaaay too late binging this! I felt so many emotions throughout this book that I can't even put into words.
Watching Quinn and Eli's relationship grow from start to finish was inspiring. Childhood besties turned lovers was a new one for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. You get to see snippets from their childhood to early adulthood to the present time.
There were so many obstacles they had to endure and that they did! Please read content warnings because there are touchy subjects.
I loved this one so much! This was one of my highly anticipated reads and it was so good. This is Eli and Quinn's story, they were introduced in Reckless Abandon. They're best friends of Wes and Sloan.
Tropes include: childhood best friends to friends with benefits to lovers, second chance, right person wrong time, sports romance and force proximity.
I love Eli!! I love Quinn!! Eli had dreams of becoming a professional baseball player. I loved how supportive Quinn was in his dreams. She believed in his aspirations. I loved seeing them from their childhood to when they become adults. They went through so much stuff during their friendship. I really liked how close knit they were and the long distance didn't prevent them from seeing eachother.
There's so much heartache and longing between these two throughout the entire story and I was here for it. Chapter 14 wrecked me. The dialogue in that entire chapter was so heartbreaking and emotional. It gave me all the feels. My heart hurt for both of them. I understood Quinn's apprehension with the news that just rocked their world. The struggles she faced was so hard. I thought she was brave and was very real about the whole situation. I condemn her for her strength and loved how Eli was patient with Quinn during this time. I loved how they eventually made their way back to eachother. They fell back in love slowly, all at once and never turned back.
Reckless Impulse is an emotional, real, heartwrenching story that makes you believe in second chances and finding your person in the same lifetime. This story was so beautiful! Truly the best. Highly recommend!
Release date: 8/3/23
Thank you to the authors for an early copy in exchange for an honest review.
My heart was not prepared for this. I think if i’d of had been given every spoiler going, id still of ugly cried.. numerous times. My emotions were all over the place.
L.A Shaw are new to me authors (theyre a duo) and they blew me away! This book was beautiful. I didnt know any of the characters going in, I kinda went in blind having not yet read Reckless Abandon (this can be read as standalone).. but ill def be going back and reading it because wow!
Eli & Quinn are childhood best friends and have grown up together. This story follows them through being kids to falling in love, making difficult decisions, heartbreak and then to second chances. The timing never seems to be right for them and conditions forced them apart at times but regardless their feelings always remained the same. Eli is Quinns person. And her his. His Queenie 🤍
Quinns heart (and mine) went through the grinder in this. Eli is what dreams are made of. Loyal to a fault and his love for her was unconditional, but the curveballs life through at them. She was a strong FMC though, sassy & confidently held her own. Even when she was in pain she wore a smile. These two were destined for each other, the journey hurt & was emotional but I promise the HEA is worth it.
The side characters - including the inappropriate parents, the group chat, the banter.. this is an easy 5star read. And the spice 😮💨 damn girls. Eli Bartons mouth is deliciously filthy.
this book started off well but after the first few chapters it rapidly went downhill… there were just so many things wrong with this book and the way the author left a couple plot holes, or the way no other relationship except for eli’s and quinn’s was really discussed?? I kinda hated how the book didn’t really focus much on anything else except for the romance like the characters were so shallow, the mc was literally a pro basketball player yet it wasn’t something that was really focused on? I did love the friends to lovers trope ofc but yeah there was just a lot of random plots/scenes that were just not needed.. also wasn’t a fan of the whole friends with benefits thing they had for a while like they’re literally in love it was not gonna work like😭 but anyway yeah the kids were cute ig but I do not understand how this has an average rating of 4 stars like what is going on there!
“You really do know the way to a girl’s heart, don’t you, Eli Barton?”
I’m pretty sure he doesn’t just know the way to my heart… he’s embedded himself there. My best friend… my person.
⚾️‘Reckless. Impulsive. Explosive.’ Eli’s combustible feelings that are created with Quinn whenever they touch and also the perfect wording that explains the ins and outs of this whole story. I’m sure, like me, everyone that read ‘Reckless Abandon’ couldn’t wait to read Eli and Quinn’s story. And what an epic best friends-to-lovers tale between Eli and Quinn that Shaw gives us in ‘Reckless Impulse’. The wait was definitely worth the outcome when it came to these two characters. I love that Shaw gave us the complete back story of these two and how their love came to fruition. Like any other love story there are bumps along the way but isn’t that what makes a good story a great story?! As one of their beta readers I am entirely blown away by how their story was told and with this being their fifth book I’m overjoyed to have been there from the beginning. Reckless Impulse is book two in the Reckless hearts series of interconnected stand-alones and a must read that needs to be added to your TBR, ASAP.
⚾️As kids, Eli and Quinn had an unexplainable bond. One they didn’t think they even understood back then. Over time, the pull between them developed into something they could no longer ignore. They were reckless, they were impulsive, they were… everything. Until it all came shattering down. Now, Eli’s a single father and Quinn is the estranged best friend who’s still hopelessly in love with him—Eli Barton, America's favorite baseball pitcher and the man she walked away from. What was supposed to be self-preservation may have turned out to be the biggest regret of her life.
“No matter what. No matter when. No matter where… cross my heart.”
One phone call. That’s all it takes.. to change everything. Childhood best friends. Always challenging each other, from day one. And the biggest support system/cheerleader the other could ask for. I think Quinn and Eli are my favorite. Watching them grow up together and their incredible connection. It was a given. Natural. Destined. To share so many memories, moments and experiences. The unconditional love and support. To see it bloom into something more. The unparalleled chemistry and passion. Super. Flipping. Hot. I really enjoyed the way this book was written. To open with our hopes high, dropping a bomb, then jumping back to see how everything began when they were kids all the way up to present day and continuing forward. It added so much. Nothing is perfect and it’s not always going to be easy. There are hurdle and they are big. But it’s how we handle the challenges that come our way that make the difference. Putting others first but not losing yourself in the process. And also not giving up on what truly calls to you. This story pulled all my emotions. I smiled so much and I cried. I could feel their love and I just want them to have it all. Quinn is my hero. So selfless and strong. And Eli, yeah, definitely the one. Eli and Quinn have a love that little girls and boys should dream of and aspire to achieve. And if Hallmark had a clue, they’d put in an offer immediately. Although I’m not sure I’d want the compromise that would be necessary regarding the spice. IYKYK. I knew we had the perfect blend of supporting cast to bring the lightheartedness and humor, coming from Reckless Abandon. The family dynamic is chef’s kiss. It was so great to have everyone tougher again. This book is perfection. I can’t think of a single thing I’d do differently. LOVED it. All the stars.
“Oh, don’t you worry, little Queenie. I know exactly what my greedy girl wants, and she’ll get it… later.”
“But my life is going to turn into a whirlwind, and I don’t want you to get blown away by it. Even if we aren’t able to continue doing this… I need you to promise me, no matter what, I will always have my best friend.”
“That’s the scary thing when someone breaks your heart unintentionally… When they technically did nothing wrong, it makes it even more terrifying to open yourself back up.”
i freaking loved this book. i could not put it down! eli & quinn are so precious & are the definition of "it's always been you".
this story was so beautiful (and painful at times, chapters 14 & 15, iykyk). this is THE best childhood best friends to lovers i have ever read and i can't imagine it being done any better.
eli & quinn loved each other so fiercely and i am so happy we got to see them from childhood to now. SO well written!! 🫶
this book had my heart so warm and fuzzy. all of the characters were great; nothing annoyed me about the MCs (which is hard to come by lol), the families were great, the friend group was great. i loved every bit! consider me a big LA Shaw fan after this! 🥰 so greatful to have received this ARC 🫶
• single dad • childhood best friends to lovers • baseball player • 'it's always been you'
Get the tissues ready, you’re gonna need them. Eli what can I say You’re everyone’s person. We all need an Eli in our lives. Quinn you rock, your my hero.
Never give up and fight what is meant for you💕 If you believe that two souls are meant to be and put on this earth to be together, then you need to give Eli and Quinn a chance. You won’t regret it.💗
Thank you to Book Obsessed Babes LA Shaw for the ARC, truly appreciate the read. Love 💕
Update: I had a lovely chat with the authors to clear some things up on both ends and am back to say that my original review failed to mention how much I adored the friends to lovers it's always been you love story here. Also, I always get giddy about supportive and hilarious family members (the parents are top-notch) I will be reading more from this team 💙
I have a lot of questions, and honestly, I'm just a bit confused by timelines and what alternate universe this took place in.
Childhood friends to friends with benefits, but always best friends until a twist. They did get their HEA and the journey was so worth it. Gosh didn’t think this smutty book would get me all up in my feelings and make me cry, but here we are. The FMC was so fierce and the MMC was her rock. They were both each others biggest supporters. He was so swoon-worthy.
Love love loved this book! childhood friends to lovers. Yes please. The angst, the yearning, the best friends no matter what. YES YES YES !! The single dad and nanny !! I have no words besides I absolutely loved these characters and the family dynamic between the 3 family’s, I really enjoyed the first book but this one was my favourite so far I can’t wait to read the next one!!
This book gave me all the feels! I loved following Eli and Quinn from when they were 10/12 all the way to adults. Reading the way their relationship changed over time was beautiful. I really loved this book! It was sweet when it needed to be and hot when it needed to be. Really well written. Can't wait to see what's next.
I didn’t love the time jumps in this. It felt very disjointed and the “before” didn’t really involve enough emotional depth to justify the jumping in time. I feel like a series of chapters based on one timeframe would’ve been better to draw in an emotional connection.
Cami was written a bit too vapid and childlike for my liking - not to mention the unanswered questions about conception etc. it felt like the miscarriage was completely glossed over and used as a completely unnecessary plot device.
The spice was good but the plot felt like a teenager writing fanfiction
Friends to lovers Brothers best friend Single dad Baseball player
These ladies did not come to play, this was everything. I can now say they converted me into liking friends to lovers with this book. 🤌🏼
Eli and Quinn have had years of feelings and one night together changes everything. From that night on they become addicted to each other, can best friends really add in benefits with no harm to the friendship? The answer, well of course not.
Eli finds himself in a position that seems only Quinn can help with, he’s in need of a nanny & it just so happens that Quinn is looking for a new nannying job. The lines throughout the years have been blurry & messy but it’s about to get a whole lost messier. How can she be a nanny to the only guy she’ll ever love?
I absolutely loved that we got to see the multiple years that grew the connect they had.
This is a rollercoaster friends to lovers story that I’ll now be recommending to everyone I know 💕
Side notes - the family side characters are amazing! - check triggers (fertility)
Quinn and Eli's story is the second book in a connected standalone series. We got a tiny peek into their love story in Reckless Abandon, which I also loved.
These two MC's are childhood sweethearts who take their sweet time realizing there will never be anyone else for them.
Eli is a baseball hotshot, single dad, and her best friends brother.
Quinn is the fierce, supportive, fun best friend that you'd be lucky to have.
Together, they make a perfect couple, and throughout this book, you get to see the progression of their romance and the second chance they get to do it right.
This book had me hooked from the very first page and I couldn't put it down. The romance, heartbreak, and suspense will have you on the edge of your seat. The chemistry and attraction between Eli and Quinn was so amazing but yet intense at the same time. This book played with my emotions so much that my heart broke for Quinn, and just wanted to wrap her up in a hug and tell here that everything is going to be okay. This book was amazing and one that I will be rereading again because it was that good.
Whew 😅 what can i even say after reading this story? I am so speechless! What an amazing job that L.A. Shaw has done! I fell in love with Quinn & Eli from the previous books in this series but they could not prepare me for what an amazing journey this was going to be. I feel like we’ve been waiting for their story for awhile throughout this series and we finally got it. I fell head over heels for their story, then it was a mess of crying and a roller coaster of emotions, but then it was time for healing and wow can I just say this series is one to stop what you’re reading and pick this up! Quinn, “Queenie” ❤️🔥, what a strong individual she is! Through thick and thin she remained resilient and there were times I broke down for her but she still remained strong! I couldn’t have asked for a better written female character than what was given through Quinn! Of course I can’t leave Eli out. If you love a good sports romance male main character Eli is the guy for you! The compassion we get from him and even just the emotions he lets shine through has been so good to read about. I enjoyed every second of reading his side of the story. Eli is a baseball player who makes his way into the MLB and the baseball scenes in here are great. The spicy baseball scenes are even better! ⚾️🌶️ Eli is a possessive, dirty talking, compassionate man and he definitely knows how to get a lady hot 🥵. Throughout we get a double POV and seeing things from Eli’s POV has made my heart fall for this man all over again. Every emotion from this book was genuine. I consider myself a pretty tough cookie when reading emotional roller coasters like this one but I definitely teared up a few times with this. I do not want to give much away but I highly recommend this series not just this book! It has been an amazing journey and I knew this book would break me but I also knew I would heal at the end and we 100% needed Eli’s and Quinn’s story to be told! I’m glad L.A. Shaw could give us their story and this series! I cannot wait until more is added!
I’d love to add thank you to L.A. Shaw on shining some light on Endometriosis 💛💛 us ladies are appreciative of this! 🫶🏾
This is my first book by L.A. Shaw and let me say. I AM OBSESSED.
This is the story of Quinn & Eli. Let me preface by saying childhood friends to lovers story is usually not my favourite type, but this book has me feeling some sort of way 🥹 Be prepared for a rollercoaster of emotions.
This story is duel POV and broken up into before & after segments. I fell in love with these characters and the relationship they had for each other immediately. It's hard not to feel the love they have for each other.
Quinn & Eli are childhood best friends, and their families do everything together. They are inseparable and Quinn supports Eli through his baseball, and Eli with Quinn's volleyball. Quinn loses her virginity and was treated poorly in the process, so she asks Eli for a do-over of sorts. They vow for it to not let it ever ruin their friendship. This continues while Quinn goes to school in NYC for volleyball, and Eli at Penn State for baseball. They naturally both start developing feelings, but as Eli gets drafted into the MLB he chooses to never be more than a best friend for Quinn. He feels she deserves someone who can be there all the time. Versus him with his crazy baseball schedule.
A series of unfortunate events leads to Eli having a one night stand with someone else, but Quinn shows up on his doorstep the following day. They finally admit their feelings, and give a real relationship a go. Suddenly things spiral when Eli finds out his one night stand is expecting a baby. This breaks the bond between Eli & Quinn for some time. The babies are born, and suddenly they are face to face trying to rebuild a friendship, and maybe even a relationship. Quinn's biggest hesitation stems from the relationship Eli has with the baby mama.
After this read here I am going back to read Reckless Abandon, and anything else these ladies have written.
Stop everything and read this book now ❤️
Tropes: Sports romance Childhood best friends Best friends brother Single dad Forced proximity 'its always been you' vibes
ARC Review of Reckless Impluse by L.A. Shaw * * * * * A wonderfully sweet and steamy romance with all the drama. A twist of sport, heavy on the second chance, and a pinch of drama!
Quinn and Eli were endgame...it's a shame that they were so close to home base when the thunderstorm hits and soon turns into a hurricane that spins everything out. Years of a building crush unsaid and one event that has Eli make a silly decision when he believes he is about to lose his Queenie. When he believes he's got her back, when Quinn thinks she too finally has her happiness...it all ends with one phone call. Two angels are gained, with the loss of the woman he loved. Now fate has them reconnecting. Eli needs some help with his girls, and the only person he can thing of is his Quinn. However, is she hiding a secret that she fears will have him hate her and end them once and for all?
A sweet somewhat insta-family romance! Love how they all automatically bonded. Eli is such a good dad and wants the best for his girls even when he is trying to make his career work and his baby momma is a massive pain. Quinn is wonderful and always puts Eli first, even if that comes to the cost of her own pain. Thankfully, she also stepped up about her feelings before she accepted a proposal that would have landed her in a more disasterous situation. How Quinn immediately become the love of those small darlings is super adorable! The chemistry between Eli and Quinn is undeniable and watching those feelings go back and forth on how they act out to what the keep in really had you pushing for that happy ending.
UGH. Eli & Quinn have a hold on my heart. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
After seeing little snippets of their relationship in the first book, Reckless Abandon, I was SO excited for their love story and it did NOT disappoint! I loved their story so, so, so much. It's a story filled with unconditional love, heartache, pining, sweet moments, spicy scenes & lots of tears (mainly from me... lol!). This is an epic bestfriends to lovers story, and you NEED to read it.
Has your heart/body ever radiated with empathy pains while reading a book? Like you actually feel the emotion, pain, and love deep in your own soul? That's what my body was doing during this entire read. This story was so well written. You get to see how their friendship & love for one another grows stronger over the years, and the pull that these two have towards one another. AND you get an even closer look at the close bonds of all the family members. Seriously - their parents are all the best & so funny! I loved them in Reckless Abandon, and loved them even more in this second book!
Be prepared to laugh, to squirm & to sob. Because I did all three of those things. Constantly. This book will definitely be a re-read of mine! 😍
Thank you to the bookbabe duo of LA Shaw for writing this beautiful story for all of us to read! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this book!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Tropes: Best Friend's Brother / First Love / Pining / Friends to Lovers
Emotional, Raw, heartbreaking, filled with love, joy & that nice steamy spice are just a few of the words I would use to describe this book.
We first met Quinn and Eli in Reckless Abandon and the glimpses of their love/chemistry for me were shooting off the page then! With their own story of turmoil, IMPULSE and unconditional love you won’t be disappointed.
Quinn is fire, sass, loyal, and just so unapologetically herself that you can’t help but want to be her when you grow up 😉. Eli is loyal, compassionate, and protective but even more so of our girl “Queenie” as he calls her.
The bond these two have starts early in life until one day that magic gate keeping them in the “friends only” zone breaks and they can’t resist that reckless impulse for more. Fast forward to adult hood where Eli is now a single dad and he and Quinn are no longer “Queenie and E” sit back and enjoy the ride while while they navigate the rocky roads of being best friends to strangers to lovers. Be warned, You will need tissues for this ride!
If you want: -friends to strangers to lovers, this book is for you. -single dad, this book is for you -second chance romance, this book is for you -sports romance, this book is for you -forced proximity, this book is for you -steamy spice, this book is for you

Please read TW before reading this book as some subjects may be sensitive for some readers.
- Even though she is Sloan’s best friend, and Wes is mine, Quinn is my person. And if it’s up to me, she always will be.
Books written by my fave duo will always be a hit for me. And although my favorite book (ever) is still Make You Love Me and no one can be more perfect than Greyson, Eli was close. Eli and Quinn are perfect example for childhood friends to lovers + right person wrong time, and waiting for them to finally be truly together was a tough journey. Every time one of them decides to make a move, the other one does something to change the first one's mind. And even though they can’t be together, they are there for each other, they are the loudest fans for each other and throughout the whole book they show how strong their friendship is. Eli becoming a father really affects them and puts all kinds of challenges in front of them, but in the end they manage to overcome everything and become a beautiful family. Sensitive topics are mentioned so I suggest you to check tw!
I really enjoyed this book and although it can be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading book one first, firstly cause it’s really good and secondly you’ll better understand everything.
My absolute favorite part of the book: - My hand goes to my mouth. “Oh my gosh. Do you think?” My tear-filled eyes question Eli. His face has a soft smile as he nods. “Yeah, baby… she means you. Without a doubt.” 💜
