Outstanding explanation of the hazy biblical meanings of "prayers for the dead" and "baptizing the dead," et al. These two Anglican priests fearlessly examine the historical and pastoral backgrounds of such Bible verses.

More importantly, the authors mainly tell how prayers of forgiveness, release, and/or celebration for dead friends and relatives can produce significant psychological and spiritual improvements in the lives of the living.

I especially like the authors' humility in discussing these topics. They don't try to pass themselves off as know-it-alls.

Highly recommended for any Christian processing his/her own grief.
