Struggling with several recent losses, our budding witch sleuth Rosie "Bean" Dodds is looking for solid ground to stand on. However, the town of Shadybight's always rumbling, and this time with a snowstorm of old acquaintances...
Funerals are onerous. Mourning a loved one is a grandiose ask, but mourning a once-sworn enemy is even more daunting. Rosie “Bean” Dodds does so with all the poise she can muster, despite what the funeral has brought into town. Old acquaintances who once called Shadybight home are more than expected, but the snow that arrives with them is not. Snow has not fallen during November for decades. But it’s not just the snow, other strange events start happening, too. Boats are going missing, starfish are washing up in sinks, and power outages are becoming common.
Whatever the guests have brought with them, if the guests have brought it with them, it is only just beginning. Because when a beloved resident washes up dead on the shores one morning, the town’s odd behavior escalates with it. And Bean’s nightmares are no exception, presenting her with visions so detailed that she is desperate to be rid of them.
As the ocean plagues her small town, it also reveals the darkest secret the town has ever kept, leaving Bean to make her most difficult decision yet.
Should she bring the secret to light or bury it back under the snow?
Molly is a Film and Media Arts grad with a passion for story-telling. She fuels her creative mind with a lack of sleep and loud music. Any genre will do, that is, except country—it gives too many of her characters southern/western accents. It also makes her extraordinary use of contractions…far worse.
She loves mountains and avoids the ocean (who knows what could be in there). So most of her stories are based in mountainous, highly forested regions.
Her favorite genres are fantasy, science fiction, mystery, and thriller.
