As a kid I often read the danish translation by Julia & Derek Parker - the cover has a woman with a dove on a blue background. I can't find the danish version here on Goodreads. So this will be the placeholder with the author.

As a kid and teenager this book (the danish version anyhow) was wonderful with interesting illustrations, and an empathic, psychoanalysis litterary style, which helped me tremendously in finding words for emotions and circumstances. Even if analyzing dreams, as a scientific tool is utter garbage, it still thought me to be self-reflective. And reflect on emotional valence.
Why did I dream wolf was shot with a round metal ball and it left a metallic indentation in the otherwise strange canine? How come it happened in the day, wintertime at my homes carport?

Personally I often had reoccurring dreams, as separate tracks over a decade, sometimes with agency in them and even managed to convert nightmares to regular dreams. For instance I talked to a black panther which was growling at me. ..I faced a lot of invisible hardship as a kid, such as parents being sued by my aunt, or a sibling who craved attention so much that I often was left with a Gameboy in my hands and no soul in sight. Despite living on a ranch I would get splinter on the hardwood floor, as I was told to take my shoes off but never had indoor shoes or slippers. This book helped me realize how and why I felt like I did.

I may be crediting this book and author too much. But it's the most important of my early years. Along with the joyful "Findus & Pedersen" which I was forced to add in different languages, here on goodreads.

If you find the danish version, hang on to it.

A book on the history of dreams and what your dreams MAY mean.
I personally enjoyed this book. I love how it has a section to better remember your dreams.
