The concept is Albert Einstein ("The Professor"), Marlilyn Monroe ("The Actress"), Joe DiMaggio ("The Ballplayer") and Senator Joe McCarthy ("The Senator") all cross paths in the same hotel room one night. Read because the Nicolas Roeg film that's based on this play is one of my all time favorites. The film is pretty faithful outside of a handful of variations The Professor throwing his life-work papers out the window is an excellent addition of the film's, as is the chilling and incredible end bomb sequence, though the play gets good milage out of its simpler but also chilling rendition of the same, and of course the film has standard-Roeg visual collages spliced throughout in relationship to subjects the characters are talking about, probably the best use of this signature quirk of Roeg's), and it was interesting comparing the differences, and is just as delightful, thought-provoking and disturbing as the film.
