This was a moving story about a London pastor who gets invited to preach at Moody in Chicago. He travels on the Titanic to travel to America on its infamous maiden voyage. While drifting in the ocean he preaches to those facing peril. The art was really good as well.
Inspired by true events, The Last Convert of John Harper is a poorly written graphic novel from Kingstone Comics. The story follows the life of Baptist pastor John Harper; his birth, ministry, and death on the RMS Titanic during its sinking. But the storytelling is incoherent, rushing through his life without developing any of the characters; even Harper, who it’s supposedly about, is only given a few clichéd lines of dialog from sermons. In fact, the comic seems to be far more interested in proselytizing then telling a compelling story. To wit, the book’s depiction of the Titanic disaster is questionable at best; as it’s full of misleading information. And the artwork is rather lackluster, with fairly generic character designs. The Last Convert of John Harper is a travesty of a comic that turns a heroic story into insipid tripe.
