MindLight: Secrets of Energy, Magick & Manifestation

Rate this book
According to Silver RavenWolf, changing our reality is absolutely possible. The bestselling "Solitary Witch" introduces a groundbreaking system-based on quantum physics, magick, and energy-for tapping into the life-changing potential in all of us. RavenWolf puts quantum physics theories into plain English and explains how they can be put into practice for personal fulfillment. She teaches how to achieve a special state of consciousness, including how to create and project a "mindlight," or ball of energy, through meditations, visualizations, rituals, and mind exercises. These techniques-some involving elemental energies, astrology, oils, and herbs-can be used for healing, problem solving, relaxation, banishing negative thoughts, and general wellbeing.

The book that ended my being neoPagan.

Ok, that's an overstatement, but it did start making me question a LOT more. Ms. Ravenwolf presents herself as an absolute authority in quantum mechanics and how it "proves" magic, when it does no such thing. I'm not an authority myself, but I'd done enough research on it prior to reading this to know how off base this was. I had eaten up some of her earlier work when I was in high school, but this was the last one of hers for me.

There are some good tips in here, but the book feels bloated with too many similar meditation practices, unnecessary magical associations, and juvenile clip art. It makes a better reference guide to dip into every now and then than it does an instructional book.

I found this book more useful than her others. A book that I can follow a bit more.
