Discover 101 of the most fascinating, most disgusting, and most unbelievable facts. Make your friends jealous with your increased knowledge and amaze people with your ability to answer almost impossible questions! Why is the sky blue? How do birds stand on electric wires without being electrocuted? Could I spontaneously combust at any moment? increased braininess may be only temporary.
This book came on time which i was very happy about! I just expected it to be some facts about everything in life, but then when i opend it there was a a page of the facts and on the other page it had things you could fill in! When reading this book i found out loads of random things that are about life, for example, why is the sky blue?, why is the sea salty? and what is the worst smell ever? Since i am only 11 i have to go to school, so when i went to school i told my friends all about the stuff in my book, and they were amazed about how much i knew! So they said where did i get the book from, so i said Amazon and there going to buy it too! So 100/100, brilliant book!
I didn't realize that this book is aimed at teens until I actually started reading it. It wasn't so much the level of the scientific content, but rather the writing style and some of the activity suggestions. Some of the science content was interesting, but there just wasn't enough to each topic to really grab my interest.

A very interesting and interactive book on 101 matters that you should know about history, science, survival, astronomy, etc. Each question is answered in one page - very precise and concise, followed by a page of related activity to test your understanding. Great book for kids and adults.
If you're looking for a way to simultaneously increase your knowledge and wow your friends with your infinite brainiac abilities, than this is definitely the book for you!
101 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW...AND SOME YOU DON'T! includes just that -- 101 sometimes interesting, sometimes obscure, sometimes downright gross facts about everything from science, nature, and animals to the universe, history, and the human body.
Some of my favorites include "What is the worse smell ever?" Answer: a toss-up between a skunk, a corpse flower, and durian fruit, which smells like raw sewage. Or "Are you only ever a few feet from a rat in a big city?" Answer: pretty much, yes. Which, when you think about it, is quite disgusting. "How much does the earth weigh?" Answer: a little over 13 million billion billion pounds. And you thought you needed to go on a diet!
The book also includes handy-dandy stickers, which you can use to mark your progress when you've learned a new fact, additional facts and data that (mostly) have something to do with the fact you've just mastered, and extras such as a checklist, extra paper, and a list where you can mark down things you'd like to know that weren't covered in the book.
So, although this is a book that can most assuredly make you look smart(er) in front of your friends, results aren't guaranteed to last forever -- unless you put a little brain power into it!
This little book full of interesting facts like "Why we don't fall off the earth?" and "Where ar the most haunted houses in the world?" I'm thinking of using excertps as a friendly way to get kids into reading non-fiction and wanting to do research. Who doesn't want to know "Who invented the wheel?"
The book is full of answers to questions that we think about sometimes but never really search for answers like "Why is the sky blue?". I liked how they present complicated ideas in simple ways. There's also activities you can do that are related to the ideas.
This is so funny! it has subjects like, "Do humans spontaniously combust", "What makes farts so smelly", and "Pus-what is it good for?". Tottaly hillarious!
I'm not sure how to rate this book as I didn't realize that it was aimed at a younger (teenage) audience. The scientific content was still interesting and varied but the writing style was clearly aimed at this audience as well as the type of material included. I still enjoyed it as a fun reminder and would definitely recommend this book to get a young audience interested in science.
