When Miss Violet Montgomery, daughter of late Hatton Garden Jeweller Harry Montgomery, writes to Sherlock Holmes asking for his help in solving a theft from her family home, the famous detective takes little persuading to agree to the case. Unbeknownst to Miss Violet, two years previously – and a few weeks before her father’s death – Harry Montgomery had written a similar letter to Holmes, who was abroad at the time and unable to assist. Harry and Violet’s pleas share a common thread, as each refer to the loss of a curious red pin...
Christopher is a Reader's Favorite award winning author and Star Trek Feature Writer.
Described by New York Times Bestseller Michael Jan Friedman as "an up-and-coming fantasy voice", and compared to Roger Zelazny's best work, Abbott's Songs of the Osirian series of works brings a bold re-telling of Ancient Egyptian mythology. Abbott presents a fresh view of deities we know, such as Horus, Osiris, and Anubis. He weaves the godlike magic through musical poetry, giving these wonderfully tragic and deeply flawed "gods" different perspective, all the while increasing their mysteriousness.
His Sherlock Holmes stories, published in the Watson Chronicles Series, have been recognised by readers and peers alike as faithfully authentic to the original Conan Doyle. In 2022, after publishing seven individual Watson Chronicle stories, Christopher teamed up with prolific authors Michael Jan Friedman and Aaron Rosenberg to add a collection of Holmes short stories to the series.
Christopher has published with Crazy8Press and written for major media outlets, including ScreenRant.

As usual, Mr. Abbott delivers mystery and intrigue with our favorite duo. But good luck figuring this one out...I came away feeling dizzy.
A woman has lost her red hat pin. But what does it have to do with a two-year old theft and murder? For Sherlock Holmes, the answer lies in a tangled mess of deceit...
I have enjoyed the previous books in this series and could hardly wait for this one to come out. What a disappointment! First of all, the author has Sherlock (and Watson) discuss how a ‘heel heavy’ footprint means the person was running. Yes, that’s right. Abbott thinks humans run on their heels. He not only does this once or twice, but every time they discuss the footprints. Every. Single. Time.
As if that weren’t enough,
Added to this inexplicable lack of awareness about shoes and running is a plot that is all over the place. Is the solution this? Is it that? No, it’s everything and more. Pretty much anything Abbott can pull out of his butt he throws down on the page.
Unnecessarily sordid, too confused names, not recommended
Mistaken identity both in witnesses, names and photography are taken to highly unlikely extremes while the entry mystery becomes consigned to that rarest category of coincidence. The behaviour of all the police varies between disgraceful, incompetent and unlikely. Only the historical detail seems fine. I cannot recommend this outing. There are finer entrants in the Holmes genre such as Roger Riccard and Ben Clay
This story was hard to follow and had too many holes and questions left unanswered. The plot was all over the place and the solution was very far fetched. I just didn't enjoy this one and kept finding myself lost in the explanations.
