I Now Pronounce You… Still Married! It had been a mistake…at least for Jonah Landis's new bride. She'd left him the morning after their whirlwind wedding. And he'd never forgiven her. As quickly as they had once exchanged rings, Jonah filed for an annulment and vowed to put memories of Eloisa behind him.But a year later, due to a technicality, it seemed the millionaire was still a married man. Eloisa had lied about many things, and now he finally had the ammunition to unravel it all. If his "wife" wanted out of this marriage, she was going to give him the answers he still needed… and the honeymoon he still craved….

This was an easy read, nothing more. It lacked the chemistry between the couple. I would have hoped for more angst - especially after being estranged for a year - but alas, there's none. Their connection felt kind of flat. However, it was a short book (130 pages or so), this could work for someone looking for a short breather.
"Oh my what a twisted tale we weave..... Jonah and Eloisa have an interesting and short past and quite the intriquing present. Eloisa seems to have definately gotten caught between two+ family situations. Some very protective (though secretly so) big brothers. Neat twists and fun in this one." Was a cute book. loved the closeness of the Landis brothers and their camaraderie. Though I didn't understand why the connection to her biological father and half siblings was such a big secret.

Listened to this one on Youtube. I really enjoyed the story. A quick wedding and a couple who haven't seen each other in a year. Can Jonas get her to agree to spend two weeks together being married? Or will she run away again.
Nice... Love the fact that the 'hero' comes from a nice close knit family...with a very strong mother and step-dad. Lots of ups and downs in the story...while they both figured themselves and each other out! The 'brotherly advice' given made me laugh... Especially the 'Coach doggie collars' lol I'll have to see if they make those!!
Was a fun read with characters living in a world that most of us can only imagine, a 'true' CInderella story!! :)
Two instead of three stars cause I got pretty tired of that "he won't understand" theme. And there was some mystical threat that we didn't see. Hero was nice and heroine was broken. I'm not sure if it wasn't just authors will that brought them back together. Like in the second book up to the last chapter it was "it won't work" and suddenly "it will". And I totally didn't get that aggression of her brother. He was cool the first time he came and then what happened? Too many gaps.
I am picking up the odd older M&B audio titles my library has. They're not always book I would pick as a first choice but at 5-6 hours listening time, they are undemanding.
Jonah and Eloisa got drunk and ended up married last summer while they were vacationing separately in Spain. In the morning Eloisa regretted what she'd done and made good her escape, sending Jonah the divorce papers. Now, a year later, Jonah is back with the news that they can't get divorced because she lied about her name. Eloisa is really the illegitimate daughter of a deposed king, so she uses a fake name to protect herself from the people who might use her against her father. Jonah insists that he's back to claim the honeymoon that he never got, but the longer he spends time with Eloisa, the more he's convinced he can't let her go. Eloisa is certainly tempted at hte idea of a life with Jonah, but living in the spotlight, and risking her heart (after being rjected by her father) is not something she's comfortable with.
This was a fairly average read for me. Jonah came across as a bit of a jerk at first, but probably because he was hurt that Eloisa wouldn't trust him or stay with him. He came on really strong, pretty much bulldozing over Eloisa and her claims to privacy. He dug up every secret he could and more or less forced the rest out of her... except for the big one, but she lays that one on him later. But I warmed up to him quite a lot there in the middle and end, since he was the first one to want more from the relationship. Eloisa was a piece of work. Not annoying, but she was a hot mess. It was kind of sad to see her circumstances with her family. The situation with her father at least had a somewhat happy ending, but for me, the tragic part was how little her brother cared for her. As I said, a good story and fairly typical HQN stuff.
