Zoe McClary never imagined an evening jog would lead to witnessing a crime. Fearing for her life, she goes on the run and ends up in a remote town in Montana, where she meets a mysterious man in isolation for reasons as equally dangerous as hers.
Kaiden Hayes escaped a brutal world years ago and has no intention of revealing his whereabouts. But Zoe’s arrival dismantles his once quiet retreat, and for the first time, he finds himself opening his heart to someone.
Emotions intensify just as threats close in on them. This time, they’ll fight for more than their survival.
I'm a writer of contemporary romance, suspense, and fantasy. I live in Rhode Island with my hubby. Aside from writing, I enjoy blogging, reading, listening to music and watching movies.
This was excellent! Zoe and Kaiden were great characters with nice chemistry. The plot was believable and there was plenty of action with just a hint of steamy romance. I picked this on a whim in KU and I'm very glad I did. 5 ⭐!
His arms evoke a shroud of safety I haven't felt in so long--like a promise to protect me from danger.
4.5 stars!
Even though it took me a few days to finish this book (damn you, work!), I thoroughly enjoyed this novel by the lovely Shane Morgan! I've known and have been reading for Shane for years now, and I could really see the growth and improvement in her writing and pacing in this novel. The story starts off right from the first page as we follow along with Zoe in her escape for freedom after witnessing a murder. She happens upon the small town where Kaiden has been hiding and rebuilding his life after escaping his past...a past that is intertwined with Zoe's present. I loved how Zoe and Kaiden's relationship slowly transformed the more time they spent together. There was plenty of action and steamy scenes woven in between the emotional journeys both characters find themselves on. Thank you for the shoutout at the end, Shane, and I cannot wait to see what you deliver next♡
Tropes: heroine-on-the-run, protector hero with hidden past, strangers-to-lovers, romantic-suspense, forced proximity, small town, steamy🔥

ZOE is a simple girl who is a waitress and she is living with her friend Ava peacefully , she sees something one nIght while going for a run, her life turns upside down and she will be on the run from that day onward during her running she ends up in a remote town in Montana, she meets our Hero who is a dangerous and mysterious.
KAIDEN He escape a brutal life years ago and he is in hiding living his peaceful life in isolation and no communication to the outside world with no intention to change that , she shows up and turns his life upside down.
When i tell you the intense emotions in this book make your heart ache i am not kidding i felt someone was holding my heart and squeezing it with the feelings that these two where going through he was fighting his feelings the push and pull between them him not wanting to act on it because it was temporary her thinking she shouldn’t due to the situation she is in.
But eventually there feeling gets the better of them and they surrender to it all this might come as instant love to some but its not its the need for each other that will make the passion so much more than that, kaiden not feeling he is good enough for her for all what he has done in his life and her not allowing him to feel like that he is so protective of her he puts his own peace in danger without a blink of an eye because she is what he needed for a long time 🥹🥹🥹
“ i am not miserable with you. “ “ I am Exhausted. Exhausted from fighting what i feel and tired of this dance of pretending that we do around each other.”
“ I never allowed myself to relax. This place only started to become a home when you arrived. Maybe because you feel like home to me.”
Hide Here was a fast-paced romantic suspense. The first few pages caught my attention, and I was invested in Zoe's survival and ability to keep moving forward despite the circumstances. Kaiden is your typical grumpy and protective hero. He is also dangerous. He can't leave Zoe to her fate, and when it's time to let go, he can't do that either. It took a while for the sparks to fly, and the tension between them grew. There were a few repetitive phrases and some awkward descriptions that made my mind pop out of the story. However, overall, the storyline, plot, and characters were great and kept me reading. I will read more from this author.
Recommended: Small town/isolation suspense romance, forced proximity, and organized crime romance readers

Once more, I am blown away by another Shane Morgan book. If it wasn’t for the number of classes and testing, I had, I would have finished this faster than I had. I have been reading her books for years, and we became close friends through the years. Hide Here is just the type of book that I love reading, romance, and thriller. This book had my attention from the moment that I started reading the book until I turned the last page. Once I reached the last page, I wanted to go back and reread this book. There was so much going on in this story, and as a reader, you couldn’t help but wonder what would happen next, if they would find Zoe, and if Kaiden could protect her if they did. Every page and chapter had me on the edge of my seat, craving more.
You could tell there was a connection between Kaiden and Zoe from the moment they met, even if Kaiden didn’t want to admit it. I know that if it weren’t there, Kaiden wouldn’t let Zoe stay with him if he did. I loved how he did everything he could to protect her when he found out she was in danger. Kaiden wouldn’t have had trouble if he didn’t feel something for her. The emotions in the book, oh man. I couldn’t begin to imagine what Zoe thought during this time, but after reading the book, I felt as if I could. While reading Hide Here , my emotions were all over the place. I also felt everything Zoe felt for Kaiden and hoped he would come to his senses soon.
The story wasn’t the only thing I loved about the book, but the cover and the title. Even if you haven’t read any of the author’s books before, the cover and the title will make you curious about the story. I highly recommend this book, especially to anyone who loves romance and thrillers. Be prepared for a thrilling ride. I wanted to thank the author for her dedication in this book; seeing that made my day.
