As a wedding photographer, Jette is thrilled when her best friend gets engaged. Love, however, has been tricky for Jette as she navigates the world of dating. When her ex, who she hasn’t seen in a year, arrives at her friend’s engagement party, his presence disrupts her once manageable lifestyle. Their unfinished story creates waves throughout each of their lives as they attempt to reconcile their past.
This story hit differently. I was in tears and I don't trigger with anything. But this story was written with such realistic vulnerability, and told so well, that it sneaked under my armor and got me. Gah. So good. Thank you for the cry.
This is not a genre I usually read and I’m glad I took a chance on this book! The Jette was beautiful and sorrowful and joyous all as once. This read was a great journey of healing. I will be recommending it to my friends!
Such a wonderful love story of changes that happen after a heartbreak. Most of it reminded me of dating in my younger years. There’s a certain nostalgia about it that I thoroughly enjoyed. I loved the female main character and her wit. Figuring out who she would “end up” with was fun! Overall, a very enjoyable read!
I will give this book a 3.5 ⭐️ I wanted to read more about Kade and Jett’s relationship/ friendship. I enjoyed the book. I think they deserved more pages on this book. 🫶🏻
Love doesn't always announce itself with a bang. Sometimes you have to go through a forest of frogs before you land the prince. Jette is a one such girl. She has found a job she loves but has yet to find the right person to share her life with. I thoroughly enjoyed reading her journey as she tread the often murky waters of dating.
Jette’s life is finally in order - she has a thriving photography business, and an apartment she loves that she shares with her best friend, Victoria. However, everything changes when Victoria gets engaged, throwing her back into contact with her best friend brother who is also her ex-boyfriend Cade. Yet things are not as they once were as Jette discovers that Cade is now months sober, which allows Jette to begin the healing process with Cade.
Overall this novel weaves a tale about alcoholism, sobriety and the effects that substance abuse has on those around the addict, all while set against the backdrop of the upcoming nuptials for Josh and Victoria.
It was a solid and heart warming story, at times the pacing was a little slow and I wasn’t sure how I felt about Grant.
I really enjoyed THEY DON’T END UP TOGETHER, a contemporary second chance romance set in San Francisco. Jette is a photographer who is celebrating the recent engagement of her friends. This also means that her ex Kade comes back into her life which sends her stomach into uncomfortable flips. I loved so many things about this book. The San Francisco setting was fabulous. I loved Jette’s photography career. I loved the strong female friendships. I love watching Jette go on dates, some hilariously bad, some better, as she tried to find her match. The way alcohols recovery and addiction was handled was really good. I loved most of all the theme of second chances, of all kinds, and figuring out what you really want and need. A great contemporary romance! 5/5 stars.
This book is great for a conversation piece and to truly think about dating and the value of being single. Jette has a career as a wedding photographer while living in her hometown. Jette is single and is ready to mingle. She does meet a guy who is the full package. He is safe and secure. Until her best friend gets engaged to her ex-boyfriend. And, they both have feelings for each other. However, the ex-boyfriend is on his healing journey. Read this story to get to the end... While doing so... Evaluate this story as a dating case study.
If you were Jette's best friend what advice would you give?
I had initially, received this book as an ARC. My review is late but this book popped back up on my radar and I finally sat down to write this. Thanks ADHD. I went in not knowing what to expect but I didn't expect to be hit with such an amazing story that had me in tears. I loved the characters and the realism of the situations they faced. It was easy to fall into the story and fall for the characters. I always appreciate a story where the side characters play an important role to our main characters as well, it helps to bring our mains to life. I loved this book and will be purchasing a physical copy for my bookshelves. I look forward to reading more from Heather.
This book gave me all the emotions and I loved every second of it. Jette's best friend, Victoria, is engaged and that brings up a lot of feelings for her. The past merges into the now, and she has to overcome her own self-doubt to be able to move forward. I found this story so movingly real and can't wait to read this author's other books.
This is a love story about second chances... or is it? How about taking new chances and learning from old mistakes? Maybe a better way to say it.... Will you or won't you? This had me turning the pages to find out the answers!
I came across the author on TikTok and was super intrigued by her book. This book is amazing. I wasn’t sure what was going to happen in the end. I cried a second but also was amazingly happy with the ending. I love this book.
This is the second book from Heather Zinda, and I was not disappointed. I laughed, teared up, and overall enjoyed the hell out of this book. This is the kind of story that leaves you with a satisfied smile.
I like the couple and how they deal with drinking problems that Kade have and I love all the people in the books and how drinking can be a destructive thing and just because your in AA it not going be solved overnight you will still have problems with it and how jette is not perfect either but she still willing to love Kade despite his problems and struggles.
The story sucked me in from the start!! A hilarious contemporary romance. The female lead is lovable, funny, and jumps off the page! I couldn’t NOT root for her the whole time! Such a worthwhile read! ☺️
They don't end up together is a very real story. The emotions are genuine, the situations grounded in relatable terms, and the dialogue would be perfect in a movie. Favorite parts with out spoilers - chicken coop drama, never look at a thumb the same way again, and favorite things check lists.
