Whoever said marriage is bliss clearly wasn’t talking about my marriage.
I’m on vacation with my husband in an attempt to save our marriage. I expected to be wined and dined, treated like a queen, and to rekindle our dying spark. Instead, I walked in on my husband cheating on me in our hotel room.
Still reeling from finding my two-timing husband in bed with someone else, I meet a man who seems too good to be true—and he’s all too willing to help take my mind off my failed marriage.
But something this perfect can’t possibly come out of this disaster of a vacation…can it?
Now that I’ve developed an unexpected love with someone new, my deceptive husband is back. He has one goal in mind…to win back my love.
Wrapped up in uncertainties and unknowns…which decision should I make? And when I come to terms with the right decision…will it be too late?
Hours after arriving in Hawaii in hopes of repairing her marriage, Lilah’s world is flipped upside down. While grieving a failed marriage she finds hope for a future in an unlikely stranger in a bar.
Ever After wasn’t as spicy as some of the reads I have been reading lately. But that doesn’t mean a thing. It was still a fantastic, slowburn of a romance that kept me intrigued the entire story. I loved the instant chemistry between both Lilah and Jay and how they would banter back and forth. And even if they were not conversing, they always felt comfortable in the silence. There is something to be said about a couple who finds comfort in one another. Especially in such a new relationship.
Skye’s debut book was such a fantastic, sweet and semi spicy read. I can’t wait to see what this new to me author comes up with next. 5 Stars!
That’s some seriously messed up ex’s. Jay and Lilah are perfect. Getting past their pasts and being open for each other ended up being harder than they thought. But when they got it right it was perfect.
The writing was rock-solid, as were the characters and their development. I have to admit, this was one of the most adventurous premises I've come across lately. I can't say more without spoilers.
Jay was swoon-worthy, and the wisdom, kindness, and patience he has shown were amazing. I do have to admit Lilah had far more guts than I ever will. Nonetheless, facing the horrible situation she found herself in, I need to praise her for her courage. And the "crazy" moments, lol.
All in all, this book was very good, and I'm intrigued to read more by Ms. Skye!
💔 Angst: 4/5 🔥 Spice 3/5 👤 Character development 5/5 🌍 World-building 4/5 📝 Plot 4/5
What a beautiful read. Mia does a marvelous job giving us a tale into her character's lives. The broken heart of both characters. Especially the male and giving us a true look at a man with a broken heart and standing his ground for what he feels is healthy mentally for him. We are used to the perspective of the broken hearted female but it's a look at a non alpha man and his need to protect himself in a healthy way. I give this give stars because the author did her story telling so well. Take a chance I am pretty sure that you will enjoy this read.
A couple trying to save their marriage goes on a trip to Hawaii only to leave with a possible divorce and new love. Lilah must decide does she save her marriage or move on. Follow this journey with Lilah to see the outcome of her life.
this book took me on a rollercoaster. at first, i didnt think id like it because i dont usually like the tropes that were given, but i thoroughly enjoyed this read and LOVE jay! 💗💗
The couple in this novel, decides to go to Hawaii and try to recommit to their failing marriage. She finds him with another woman. Mia finally realizes that her marriage is over and starts the divorce proceedings. She also finds love in Hawaii with another man.
Thank you to Mia Skye for the chance to read an ARC of Ever After. Lilah and her husband have been struggling in their marriage. They decide to take a trip to Hawaii to work on fixing it. Damage was done and Lilah finds herself in a bar and on her own. She meets Jay, who is going through something similar. This story explores their friendship and finding comfort in someone that you don’t expect. Lilah has to make a choice. Who and what does she want in her life?
"It always made me feel like I wasn’t worth his time. Like I was one of those ex-wives where the husband doesn’t put in effort but puts in effort with his new wife. The effort that the ex-wife was needing. Those situations have always crushed me when I see them. Why wasn’t his first wife good enough for him to save the marriage?" This couple's road in life was so hard and hurtful for them, Jay most of all, because of his hard life with foster care and loneless and after being cruelly hurt by two of the people he trusted most. I am happy they found a quiet and peaceful life after all this grief. A very dramatic story!
I saw this in a reading group and it sounded interesting. I'm glad I read it. It was a good read, I was just expecting more angst from what the topic was about. I liked Jay and wanted him to get the girl but she was all over the place with her feelings of guilt and what she felt for Jay. And drank way too much, he really took a lot from her. Allah needed to end things first and not jerk him around.
Ever After is the debut book of Mia Skye. It is a story about second chances at love and finding happiness in the most unexpected places.
Lilah and her husband are vacationing in Hawaii, trying to salvage their crumbling marriage. Less than twelve hours later, her marriage is essentially over when she walks in on her husband with another woman. She doesn't know where to go or what to do next until she meets a handsome stranger. Jay is trying to cover from his own broken heart and the last thing he wants is to start a new relationship, until he meets a beautifully sad woman.
Mia Skye certainly gives you all the feels in the book. You experience the heartbreak, pain, realizations, and acceptance that Lilah goes through as her marriage implodes. Lilah's connection to Jay is palpable and you can't help but hope for a happily ever after for these two. Sometimes the dialogue and writing was a bit repetitive, but other than that it was well written, quick paced, and kept me racing to finish the book so I could find out how it would end. I will definitely keep an eye out for more books from this author.
I really enjoyed Ever After. Well thought out and the writing was impeccable.
Lilah is hoping this trip to Hawaii will help her marriage but after some exploring Lilah goes back to her room and discovers that her marriage can't be saved. I'm not going to say anything else because it would just ruin the book for other readers.
The writing is flawless and a great story. The author did an excellent job with the storyline and characters. I wanted to wring Lilah's husbands' neck and when I get that vested in a book you know it is good. I read it in one sitting and I highly recommend.
This is a cheating ex / new love romance book. I thought it was a pretty quickly read.
Not completely angsty although it deals with.a woman who walks in her husband cheating on a trip to Hawaii that they took to save their arrangements ( no previous infidelity). Then through a twist she mets s man who's ex gf left him. She leaves her scummy husband immediately to spend tome with the new guy.

A raging alcoholic h, dumb story and the variations of the word embarrassing appear 43 times. Talk about the author's limited vocabulary and descriptive language...
Lilah and Jay meet at a bar in Hawaii after their partners cheated on them. Both are heartbroken and hurt but from beginning on they find comfort in one another as friends. In the coming weeks and months both must decide in which direction their relationship should go. Try to save existing relationships or move on?
