Largely unimpressed with this book. A few good tips but nothing more. It’s a good starting point t if you have absolutely no clue of where to start. If you have read already a few books in the personal development space and have a decent level of education, there is better out there.

Maybe this is a good book for younger readers (15-25). For me (40), it was too shallow, I'd say a booklet really.
Every topic was just scratched and very little was explained in depth. Having recently read 'Never Split the Difference' by Chris Voss (which I highly recommend to anyone interested in the communication topic) , I was especially disappointed by the chapter 'The Art of Diffusion'. It is missing so much information!
What I do like is that there are ample examples and that the author has a direct style of writing. I feel that if the book was 3 or 4 times thicker, he would have filled it wisely. We'll never know ;)

So helpful!
This book offered many truly helpful tips and insights. From body language to starting conversations and keeping them going. There is a good amount of information for communication at work, less for families. A large portion deals with dating. Since I'm married, it was irrelevant to me. Altogether, very well written and helpful. Well worth the read.

As a parent, connecting with my kids, especially my teenaged daughter, has been quite challenging to say the least. However, this book's methods and guidance have proven to be a tremendous help in bridging the communication gap.
Now, we can have more honest conversations and share our feelings without anyone getting upset of stomping off in a huff, which has led to a significant bonding and breakthroughs for my family. I am delighted to see how this has strengthened our bond and brought us closer together. A highly recommended read for parents seeking to improve their relationships with their children.

This should be called “How to Talk to Anyone for Real". So on point in its guidance including well researched information from credible cited sources, this isn’t the usual nonsense/nonscience riddled with outdated author opinions. Personally, I have been trying some of the ideas to boost my communication skills in pretty much every aspect of my life. So far, I have found it most helpful in strengthening my relationships with my kids and partner by learning to “shut up and listen”, and have also been making a significant impact at work by getting my contributions heard by people that matter. I wholeheartedly recommend this book for your collection.

This book is has been an immense help, on guiding me back to having a life after O shit myself away due to something negative that happened to me socially a few years back.
This book delivers its teachings in a clear and somewhat compassionate way and even managed to make me smile with some of its warm and good humoured over tones! The chapters about active listening and also the socialising online have been a real help as I feel that it is an easy in for me to get back out there. Packed with well researched and referenced info, and free from jargon this easy-to-implement communication guide gives exactly what the title suggests and goes beyond the usual cliches that these books are usually riddled with.
I love the character references and stories. It makes it real and feel relatable. The suggested methods are straight forward which makes a nice change and it covers everything from communicating with your body language, to setting up an online dating profile well. Well worth the time.

More than another basic small talk book. This one actually teaches you how to communicate better both verbally and non-verbally. The writing style is fun and non-judgy which makes the experience easy going and the message come across simple. I like the parts about building rapport with someone you’ve just met, getting them to talk about themselves and mirror you, this makes it possible to make connections easily even when introvert or shy. Recommended.

Loved it! This straight talking and rather fun read has helped empower me to inject some much needed charisma and confidence into my body language and into what I say when meeting new people. The impact on my personal and professional relationships has been significant. I don’t feel like another third wheel spinning in place in social situations, or just another face in the crowd as Bailey puts it; instead, I now stand out (in a good way!) with a newfound sense of self-assurance.
