I messed up big time and broke a reporter’s most crucial rule. Always ensure your mic is turned to the off position between shoots. As penance for my mistake, the network has relegated me to Comic Con. The last place I want to be. It’s hot, crowded, and strange costumed characters surround me. What’s worse, a guy stole my freaking latte. On purpose! All I have to do is suffer through these next four days, but Benton Davis is doing his best to make it impossible.
Benton Another year, another uneventful Comic Con, that is, until a rude and annoying woman had the nerve to interrupt my blissful morning. Immediately, she expected special treatment, but I decided to bring her down a notch or two. Sure, I may have misled her about a particular caffeinated beverage, but someone had to teach her a lesson in humility. I loathe this vain, annoying, and mean-spirited woman, but at the same time, I want to kiss her full lips, touch her all over, and make her mine. I thought the Con would be boring this year, but Brooke Burnette changed the game completely.
Krystyna Allyn lives in somewhere USA with her amazingly awesome husband. Though she works full time, blogs and reads like a maniac, she still manages to find time to write all of her crazy stories. Her hobbies include baking, skydiving, karaoke and general mischief.
This was a cute Novella 😍. Opposites attract for real!!! I loved the banter and wanted more! Definitely recommend this read if you want something short and sweet (freaky hallmark book lol)
I love good witty humor. My god she really went full scale bougie bish with Brooke and it was amazing. Benton’s part alpha part golden retriever energy was perfection!! Then add in just the right touch of crazy chemistry spicy and this was Romcom novella gold!! I’m definitely all in on this series!!

Comic-Complications is Krystyna Allyn's charming addition to the sexy nerd anthology, Smartasses. Each story in the anthology is fantastic! Comic-Complications is a romantic, charming, fandom-based, opposites-attract novella.
“As I retake Brooke’s mouth, I can’t help but feel a small sense of hope that maybe my luck is changing.”
This was my first read by Krystyna Allyn. I enjoyed her writing, her complex characters, and this outrageously fun story set at Comic Con. I loved the tension and witty banter between Brooke and Benton. This quick novella has everything you could want in an enemies-to-lovers romcom. I’m excited to read more of Krystyna’s work.
This is the first book I've read by this author and I must say I like her style. Brooke and Benton are such opposites that fit perfect for each other. They were each others missing piece. Brooke had her entire life planned out with some else and Benton was still trying to jump start his dream. Put them together and you have the happy different life Brooke wanted and the happy life and career Benton wanted but better than they imagined. Definitely a good read.
This is a geek romance written by a fellow blerd. I love geek romances. The name drop of comics, anime and other enjoyments in the background of a romance. I love Benton. The first time I've read a male lead who is the stereotypical nerd (lives in parents' basement) yet cool all the way through. Blair, the shallow one, but the attraction has her tuning to Benton. I could not get enough of this story.
I do not like Brooke and even though she redeemed herself in the end had this been a longer story I wouldn't have picked it up. Also it wasn't evident from the beginning that these characters were black and Brooke was especially written like someone who didn't know The Culture at all. Not just bougie but she wishes/thinks she's.... if you catch my drift.
I loved the story at the beginning with the slow build but then all of a sudden everything got sped up and felt very rushed by the end which took me out of it.
