There was something about this one that bothered me. The writing was fabulous and I love me a Rough man, but something didn’t click for me.

These type of cult escapees turned romance is very hit or miss for me. This was cute ☺️ but this definitely wasn’t as razzle dazzle as the others.

This book was way too similar to Abby and Prairie's story for me to truly enjoy it and find it original. At least it had some action to make it more exciting (albeit a sad situation).

Unfortunately, this one just rubbed me the wrong way. Merit lived in a cult compound and has run away. She had her freedom taken away, was literally locked in a room, was going to be forced to marry a guy she didn't even like and was treated like a second class citizen for half her life. She goes all Goldilocks and Mac finds her squatting in his cabin. Mac knows what she's been through, yet that doesn't stop him from sleeping with her the same day he meets her? She claimed she was of sound mind and knew what she was doing and he wasn't taking advantage of her. But I kind of lost respect for Mac at that point for not putting on the breaks and saying 'no' to her insistence. When one goes through something as traumatizing as what she went through with no access to the outside world, that person is usually going to need counseling and lots of time to adapt to the world they were deprived of for over a decade. So I wasn't okay with how things played out between them.

Now, I found them a cute couple and even though this one was once again insta-love, I was rooting for them in the end. I just didn't like the rushed and unethical sexual aspect of their relationship.

The last of the Rough boys finds his one in the most unusual way. Mac's dad and brother's all have to beg off the annual hunting trip with other family obligations so he decides to go anyway for some alone time. When he gets there he discovered the cabin had been broken into, and someone was actually staying there. Merit had escaped from the compound where her family had lived in the mountains for the last twelve years. Her father was going to force her to marry one of the other members that she hated, and she was never allowed to leave the compound. She planned for days how to make her escape. She felt lucky to be found by someone like Mac such a handsome respectful man willing to help her. Mac was surprised to find it was a gorgeous woman, and she had such a confusing life he knew needed to help her. Actually, he knew from the first moment she was the woman for him. He just needed to convince her of that. The ending was the absolute best as Mac calls all the Rough Brothers and Rowdy Cousins for help when Merit was kidnapped by her father. A fantastic read with lots of romance and action.

Rough Justice is the sixth installment in Frankie Love’s Coming Home to the Mountains series. In it, she chronicles the romantic journey of Merit Monroe and Mac Rough. She is a young woman escaping from her family and the cultish compound they reside in for the last 10 years. He is one of the six Rough sons. He works in the family’s construction business with his father and brother. He decides to head out to the family’s hunting cabin. He finds a beautiful surprise there—Merit. There is an instant connection upon first meeting. As days pass, the attraction grows into love. Out of the blue, her evil father and Gregory, the man she is being forced to marry find her. Take her back to their Free State compound. Realizing what has happened Mac calls in reinforcements through his family—brothers and cousins. Will he and his reinforcements get to the compound in time? Will he rescue his beautiful woman? Is it possible for them to find happiness? To discover what unfolds, you must read this book.

Yet again, I find Ms. Love’s writing style easy to follow and quite enjoyable. In this simple age-gap romance she created two dynamic lead characters thus making this a character-driven plot. The dialog is outstanding. Nice job, Ms. Love.!

Mac and Merit meet up at his family cabin. He's there to hunt, alone since his family all dropped out of the trip, and her because she's squatting in his home. They immediately hit it off and jump into the deep end of love. Of course something bad ends up happening and the Rough and Rowdy boys all swoop in to rescue her. I'm loving this series, but there's two issues I found with this story. First is that she's a virgin and no where does it mention any pain on her part or any care on his part to ease any of that pain. The first time shouldn't involve slamming it in if she's never done it before. Second issue is the lack of protection and how they don't seem to get pregnant until years after the wedding. Doesn't quite seem that they could be so lucky to avoid an unwanted pregnancy. Now there is only one member left of the Rough family who is single and she's never wanted to get married or settle in Home.

In the 6th installment of Frankie Love's awesome Coming Home to the Mountain series, we get the second youngest Rough's love story. Mac has watched all of his siblings except for his younger sister couple up over the past few years, and while he is happy for them, he is disgruntled when the guys' annual hunting trip is sidelined as everyone has plans. He heads to the cabin on his own - only to find a squatter of the gorgeous, curvy variety. Merit has lived the past 10 years on a compound, controlled by her doomsday father and promised to a man she has no desire to marry. After escaping, she takes refuge in the Rough cabin, until she is discovered by Mac. From the moment Mac lays eyes on the beautiful trespasser, he is taken by her - and after hearing her story, he is hell-bent on opening up a world of freedom to her. Will Mac find the HEA his siblings have? A wonderfully entertaining instalove romance that lives up to Ms Love's filthy-sweet promise in spades.

This latest book in the coming home to the mountains series is about the youngest son Mac and Meri a woman he meets when he goes to the family hunting cabin alone. Mac is looking forward to the annual trip with his dad and brothers but recently things have changed in his brothers lives. They now have wives and families taking up most of their time and his father and mother are busy as well. So Mac decides to go to the cabin alone. There he finds the cabin appears to have someone living in it. Meri is a young woman who escapes from a compound she has been living at for the last 12 years. Her parents are trying to keep her there and want her to marry a son of one of the men running the group. Meri doesn't understand why her parents no longer trust the outside world. All she knows is that it isn't for her. When Mac meets Meri he wants to protect her and help her. The two have great chemistry and begin to fall for one another. Mac will do anything to keep Meri by his side. This was a very entertaining book and I loved the story. Great HEA.

The Rough family is changing and Mac takes the trip to their hunting cabin on his own. Also the cabin is not as empty as he thought. Merit, who escaped her somehow cult like family and an arranged marriage, is seeking shelter there. Mac is lovestruck with this wild looking woman, seeing her strong chore. He does not only want to protect her, but help her find her way in life. They figure out that they have very similar needs and dreams and are very compatible. It is very insta. When Merit needs a little space she is taken by her father. But Mac calls for help and the Rowdys and Roughs come to her rescue. Very fast paced romance, betted in the Rough family. There is drama and of course some heat to the story and a very loving family.

Merit Monroe is a sweet, sheltered, and innocent young woman on the run in the woods from the cult compound she grew up in. Mac Rough is a bachelor mountain man visiting his family’s hunting cabin for a weekend getaway when he finds Merit hiding inside. He is immediately smitten with her and knows she must be in trouble. He has the urge to protect her, claim her, and possess her. Mac is over-the-top but gentle with Merit. He was so swoon-worthy!!! Everything for Mac changed and he would burn the world down for his girl. He had the best dirty talk and the steam was off the charts! Such a great instalove novella. I will never tire of reading about these perfect mountain men!!!

Tropes: Contemporary romance, instalove, mountain man, innocent heroine, virgin heroine, happily-ever-after
Heat: 3/5.

This is book number 6 of the Coming Home to the Mountain series and focuses on Mac and Merit. Merit has been raised like a prisoner at a compound her family lives in since she was 10 years old. She wanted her freedom so she spent weeks planning out her escape and when the opportunity presented itself, she took off. She ended up at the Rough’s family cabin and set up there for a few weeks until Mac showed up. The connection between the two of them was instant and took both of them by surprise. They both knew they had found someone special pretty quickly. When Merit’s past comes back for her, Mac is there and refuses to let anything happen to his woman. This was a great story and a great addition to the series.

3.5 stars.

For such a short book, this was pretty well-developed. I felt so bad for Merit, who had been trapped in a cult compound for ten years by her crazy dad. Still, she was determined to be free, so she ran away and took refuge in Mac's family's hunting cabin. And when Mac went up there for a weekend vacation and found Merit living in said cabin it was love at first sight. These two were sweet together, and though they had a little touch of angst between them, it quickly ended with a nice action scene. I liked the Rough family and their close-knit ways, Mac's sweetness, and Merit's determination to be her own woman. This was a quick and steamy read, and I may have to read more in this series.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. This was one of my favorite stories in the series.
i liked both characters and how they interacted together. Mac discovers Merit at the family hunting cabin. She had been surviving the best that she could before finding shelter there. Merit needs to lay low and stay away from her family. Mac is very protective after falling hard and fast for her. Their story has its share of heartache and danger but their chemistry and passion are center stage. The Rough family is involved throughout the story and you have to love them all

Mac & Merit

Mac & Merit were another great addition to the Rough Series. Mac heads up to the family’s hunting cabin, by himself since the rest of the boys were unable to make it to this years hunting trip. What he thinks is gonna be a quiet weekend turns out to be anything but. He finds a squatter. Albeit the prettiest squatter he’s ever seen.

Merit is on the run from her family and their cult, after spending nights sleeping in caves she stumbles across this cabin she thought was vacant.

I loved their hot tub scenes together and their quiet conversations talking about their future hopes and dreams.

Even though Mac is happy for his siblings finding love he wasn't too happy that he would be going on their yearly hunting trip alone until he meets Merit. Merit is on the run from her family and running into Mac is the best thing that could have happened to her. Mac falls for Merit fast and is very protective of her. This is a sweet and steamy, instalove story. This is one of my favorite stories in the series with likable characters, great writing, a great storyline, drama, danger, and a perfect ending. I can't wait to read the next book in this fun series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

This was a great book. I really liked Mac and Merit together. These two have a little bit of a bumpy start, but they are attracted to each other as soon as they see each other. Merit and Mac fall hard and fast, and while Mac is all in, Merit is hesitant. There is a lot of steam and understanding between Mac and Merit but also drama that tries to keep them apart. This was a great book, and I can't wait for the next book.

I have read all the Rough siblings' books. They are a wild bunch. The youngest, Mac decides to go up to the cabin. He stunned that the cabin has had someone living there. Merit escaped from her family compound before she was forced to marry someone she dislikes. Mac is determined to protect her. When she goes missing, his family is there to help find her. It is a great story that keeps you glued to the end.

Perfect Justice

Merit is a preppers daughter..and she wants out. She gets out and jumps into "Rough" waters by sqiatying in their vacation cabin.

Mac is the last of the crew to get hitched... and what a way to get hitched by falling in love with Merit..but first she has to be rescued cause her Daddy comes for her. Which was his first mistake.

Frankie always creates characters that are OTT, but at the heart, the characters are what anyone would want in a perfect world.

Kudos, Frankie!!!!

I loved this latest story in the Rough family. I loved seeing Mac find his girl in an unlikely place. He is feeling a little left out after the annual hunting trip with the Rough men was cancelled so he decides to go to the hunting cabin by himself. He never expected to meet Merit. She left her family and the doomsday cult. She has been staying in the cabin because she is not really equipped for the outside world. Will they have a chance at happiness?

Merit (h) escapes from her family’s cult-like compound and seeks safety in an unoccupied mountain cabin where she’s discovered by Mac (H) whose come for a hunting trip. Mac and Merit are drawn to one another, and thing heat up between the two very quickly. Merit’s family wants her back but that’s not going to happen if the Roughs and Rowdys have anything to say about it. A sweet romantic quickie with a little bit of drama and a side of heat.

Mac is a little down because all of his brothers and sisters have found their HEA, leaving him on his own. This is a fast paced read, with insta-love and tons of steam.

This amazing book is as sweet as it is hot, and as heart melting as it is swoon worthy. I thought that Mac and Merit were simply perfect for each other, and I adored The Feels they gave me. Their story is fast-paced and filled with emotion, drama, intensity and heat. I am independently posting an impartial review.

I enjoyed going back to the world of the Rough family. This time it was Mac's turn. Merit found the Rough cabin when she ran from her former life and Mac fell for her instantly and made it his desire to love and protect her. I loved their chemistry and the storyline was addictive. It's a definite must-read.

This story was enjoyable .
So much going on its crazy to think it could happen. Being held but your family, even though you are an adult they make your decisions, running away, and falling in love. Merit has been through so much it is crazy.
I do enjoy this series and can't wait to read more about this family.

This was a great instalove mountain man romance. It was the sixth book in the series but it could easily be read as a standalone. The Rough children are one by one finding their HEA and this time it was Mac’s turn. I loved his chemistry with Merit and that he just knew that she was it for him. Great story.

good read

I wasn’t sure what rating I was going to give this book. It started off fast. A woman controlled by her father finally escapes only to fall for the first handsome man she meets. And she felled hard and quick. But toward the ending was so good that I gave it four stars. Loved the epilogue.
