Really great painting book, lays out all the basics, very explanatory, very readable and offers some interesting insight. I really like his composition section, and his color section. I would say as a reference book it is ideal for students and masters just as a fresh'n up read.

The author is a pretty decent painter as well, sometimes you find them not to be so, but his color is great, and his style is pretty cool, in that it's his own.

Excellent book for all mediums. I paint in acrylics, but I found enough in the book to inspire me for a while. Highly recommended to anyone who would like to see the world differently.
