Bryce Rivers is gorgeous, arrogant, and nothing like I anticipated. That’s okay, because I’m not going to be what he expected, either.
Seducing him should have been a piece of cake, until I discover he’s hiding a few indecent secrets of his own.
Secretly infiltrating myself into this land development company wasn’t about the money, it was about making a difference. When I heard that the head of the organization had died and his nephew had inherited the entire corporation, I thought I finally stood a chance to persuade him to my way of thinking.
The new guy wasn’t at all what I’d expected. For a reported “recluse”, he was surprisingly charming, intelligent, and had a rapier wit that matched my own. Our attraction was mutual and scorching hot, which made it incredibly easy to seduce my way into his life and hopefully use that influence to steer him to make changes.
The man knew how to set my sheets on fire, but he wasn’t easily swayed. This might have started out as something impersonal between us, but the more I got to know him, the harder I fell for him, which wasn’t the plan.
I could only hope that once I made my true motives known that I wouldn’t end up destroying something more valuable—us.
And then I discovered that I wasn’t the only one hiding secrets . . .
When Professor Jack Lawton inherits his uncle's business in NYC, he knows he's in over his head. He hires Bryce Rivers, security specialist, to pose as Jack, get familiar with the company, and identify those at Lawson Industries who are eager to see Jack fail.
Lawton Industries has been on Leigh's radar due to their poor environmental practices, and she's determined to bring them down. Posing as a consultant, Leigh finds an in with Bryce, acting as Jack, and it's not long before the sparks ignite between them.
Corporate greed and espionage take a back seat to the fire Bryce and Leigh create with they’re together. Add in a touch of BDSM and some evil players who create some terrific drama and suspense, and you won’t want to miss this scorching hot adrenaline ride!
Indecent Secrets is the second book in the Indecent series, but it can be read as a standalone.
Bryce Rivers is hired by Jack Lawton to pretend to be someone else. Jack’s uncle had passed away, but it was a suspicious death, and Jack wants Bryce to figure out what had happened.
Leigh wants to make a difference in Lawton Industries, a land development company. She is an environmental activist, so when she learns of their practices, she knows she has to go undercover and try to…persuade the young Lawton to her way of thinking by way of seduction. It was supposed to be easy, because the young Lawton is a known recluse. Unfortunately, he isn’t anything like she had heard.
The connection between these two is instantaneous. Both characters can handle themselves and each other. They’re both intelligent and are not easily fooled, so despite their connection, they are wary of each other. That’s not to say things didn’t heat up, because they did. I would say there is light BDSM.
The biggest problem? Both Bryce and Leigh are keeping secrets. They do have a real connection, but neither of them are honest about their reasons for being in Lawton Industries.
There is mystery and suspense and the whole “whodunit” element. This was a fast-paced read, and I enjoyed it.
Indecent Secrets by Erika Wilde is book Two in the Indecent Series. This is the story of Bryce Rivers and Leigh Bristow. Leigh is a Environmental Activist who has been trying to take down the Lawton Industries that have been destroying the environment not to mention taking down local business and families. Jack Lawton is a recluse who has hired Bryce to go undercover to as him to find out who killed his Uncle. Bryce meets Leigh when he is undercover as Jack and the sparks fly between the two. So much so that Bryce hires her to work for him at the company. I enjoyed this book and I hope to read more from this author.
Indecent Secrets is the second book in this series. Bryce is hired by a professor of philosophy when he finds out that upon his uncle’s death, he inherits his uncle’s company. Bryce is asked to step in and impersonate the professor.
Leigh is out to seduce the new owner of the business and sway him to her way of thinking in regards to the company. But the man that introduces himself as Jack Lawton is charming and much more dangerous than she ever expected😳

Indecent Secrets is book 2 in the Indecent series by Erika Wilde and oh my what a read!
What happens when a man, Jack Lawson inherits a company he doesn’t want but known he can’t allow the Board of Directors to have it…he hires Bryce Rivers to go undercover and pose as Jack to uncover some strange happening…
Leigh Bristol an environmentalist is determined to seduce Jack Lawson to shut his company down from all the destruction it’s doing to the land, small businesses and forcing people out…
Secrets, undercover, twists, turns, murder, chemistry, steamy, suspense and more…can’t wait for the next book in this series.
This is a well written book with strong characters in Bryce and Leigh. The author does a great job developing the story and weaves an intriguing story filled with secrets and lies, suspense and romance. She adds in enough twists and heat to keep you turning the pages. She moves it fluidly with her perfectly painted scenes and delivers a fantastic story. Loved and recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Indecent Secrets is a steamy, stand alone Romantic Suspense. I'm a fan of this author but this book just felt different to me and I just couldn't really connect with the MCs. The writing was good, the plot suspenseful, no cliff hanger and a HFN. If you like a imposter, lies, secrets and a steamy suspense then this book is for you.
I was gifted this book by the author and in return I promised an honest review.
Indecent Secrets is the second book in the Indecent series. This book is a wonderful woven story with mystery, secrets, family, corporate espionage, attraction, environmental issues, drama, suspense, and then add in some BDSM and a D/s relationship......phew!!! It is a thrilling read with fantastic characters which are well developed and written, an engaging story-line that has you holding your breath at time to see what the next page brings, and a developing relationship that is intense in several ways.
Well I feel I should begin this review once again with a warning for readers that might not be familiar with this author’s work by saying this was a very different sort of story certainly than I am used to, with intensely difficult situations that most would consider taboo and might not be for everyone. I went into this one knowing I didn’t love the first story in the series mostly for the same reasons, but I hoped I would warm up to book two, but sadly this one, while very sexy, was even more uncomfortable for me. Bryce is posing as his newest client, who has recently inherited a job as owner and CEO of a huge business that he doesn’t want and doesn’t know how to handle. Leigh is determined to do whatever it takes, including seducing the young hot new CEO in order to get his to disband the terrible company, but when she meets the gorgeous man she is immediately over her head. Seduction becomes a game for them both, until they are faced with the secrets they have both been hiding, then they have to team up in order to find a killer that might very well be after Bryce’s client and willing to kill both Leigh and Bryce to get what he wants. So Leigh was obvious a strong, smart, sensual woman but I was not a huge fan of her plans to use seduction to get what she wanted. Don’t get me wrong, I am all about a woman owning her sexuality and female power and doing whatever the hell she wants with her body, but I was seriously uncomfortable with the idea of Leigh essentially selling her body in order further her career—pretty much the textbook definition of a word that I don’t like to assign to women especially in romance novels. Looking beyond that Bryce was also lying through his teeth (yes for noble-ish reasons) when he took a woman to his bed and then proceeded to use their sexual connection against her, which made me feel a certain way too. When Bryce uncovered Leigh’s secrets, through some shady means, he realizes that he has feelings for her, but instead of coming right out and admitting them, he is an asshole to her, putting her in danger, so despite claiming to be a strong protective alpha (which is SEEMS he is) he comes off as a jerk instead. In the end the story rounded out ok, but with those two glaring issues bugging the hell out of me, I just wasn’t ever able to connect and enjoy the story. The passion and sexual chemistry between Leigh and Bryce was off-the-charts don’t get me wrong and the overall plot with the suspense and mystery piece was a fun addition, even though I figured it out pretty quick. All in all I can say that if I didn’t know the series was ending with the third novel, I’d walk away now, but since I know there’s just one more, I will give the last teammate a shot to prove he isn’t a creepy asshole when he finds love and here’s hoping that I’ll enjoy that story a lot more when it comes out. I can’t say I hated the story by any means, because the writing was well done, the characters, while not to my tastes, were well researched and written to their “natures”, and the plot was well developed, but it definitely isn’t a story I will likely ever circle back to for a reread. If you’re looking for something totally our of the box, with lots of sensual fun and definitely out of the mainstream, then you’ll eat this story right up, otherwise all I can caution is reader beware.
🔥Posibile spoilere!

4.25stars-INDECENT SECRETS is the second instalment in Erika Wilde’s contemporary adult INDECENT erotic, romance suspense series focusing on EPC-Elite Protection and Consulting. This is Bryce Rivers aka Jack Lawton, and Leigh Bristow’s story line. INDECENT SECRETS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
NOTE: There are some scenes of Dom/sub play that may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Bryce and Leigh) INDECENT SECRETS follows in the aftermath of the death of billionaire businessman who owned Lawton Industries, who left everything including the business to his nephew Jack but Jack is a recluse, a university philosophy professor who suffers with severe social anxiety, and something about his uncle’s death doesn’t quite add up. In the hope of revealing the truth, Jack contracts with EPC-Elite Protection and Consulting, in an effort to ferret out any and all information about the people who work for Lawton Industries. Enter Bryce Rivers, who will take the place of Jack Lawton, a man whose identity is difficult to find but all is not well at Lawton Industries, when the employees begin to reveal the truth about the late Mr. Lawton, and Bryce begins to suspect that his death was not natural. Meanwhile, Leigh Bristow, a woman who presents herself as a corporate consultant has plans of her own, plans that didn’t include falling in love with our story line hero. What ensues is the building and highly sexual relationship between Bryce and Leigh, and the potential fall-out when Bryce and Leigh get too close to the truth.
The relationship between Bryce and Leigh begins as a lie; fake identities working in opposition to one another but eventually working together to reveal the truth. Bryce Rivers is a Dominant who takes control from the outset but Leigh’s submission may come at the cost of her own investigation. The $ex scenes are intimate, passionate and erotic.
The secondary and supporting characters include several employees at Lawton Industries including executive assistant Rebecca, corporate lawyer David Weston, investors, members of the board, as well as the reclusive Jack Lawton, and the return of Seth Maxwell, a partner at EPC.
INDECENT SECRETS is a story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, secrets and lies, acceptance and love. The fast paced premise is intriguing and captivating; the romance is seductive and provocative; the characters are energetic, charismatic and determined.
I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the second book in a series of three books about the men, Bryce, Vaughn and Seth, who run a security company. I did not read the first book (Vaughn's book) and the synopsis of this book (featuring Bryce) sounded hot, sexy and intriguing so I could not wait to read it.
This story is very different than I was expecting. Its super sexy, with lots of sex scenes, has intrigue, murder, suspense and is definitely a huge nail biter.
Our male main lead character is Bryce, and he has been hired to pretend to be a man by the name of Jack Lawton. Jack is a recluse and when his uncle dies, he leaves him his big corporate company and Jack has no corporate experience. What concerns him the most is that his uncle might have been murdered and he has no clue how to run a company. So, he goes to Bryce's company, and he hires him to pretend he is Jack so he can find out what's really going on and if his uncle was murdered and by who.
The story begins at a networking party where Bryce as Jack meets a smart, driven and very sexy woman by the name of Leigh. They both are pretending about who they are, and their goals and Leigh's goal is to dismantle the company for environmental reasons, and she plans to use any means necessary. She starts a seduction with Bryce/Jack using all her feminine wiles.
This is a light BDSM story featuring the terms of Mistress, Pet and Master in some of the sex scenes in this story and the use of a collar. To some degree I would have called this book sex games because that's really what's happening in this book. Bryce and Leigh play sex games with each other, many times in this book.
If you are looking for a sexy, hot, suspenseful book with many secrets and an intriguing plot then you will love this story and not be able to put it down until you discover the ending to this book. I was totally hooked until I turned the last page of this book.
*An advance reader copy was provided to me in exchange for an honest review.*
The second book in the Indecent Series by Erika Wilde introduces us to former military, highly intelligent, and gorgeous Bryce Rivers. Bryce was hired by introverted college professor Jack Lawton when he inherited his estranged uncle’s land development company and CEO position after his uncle’s untimely death. His job is to impersonate Jack and figure out who may have killed Jack’s uncle.
Leigh is an environmental activist and wants to bring down Jack’s company from the inside. She finds a way to be invited to the party the company is throwing to welcome Jack and puts herself in his path. Not knowing that “Jack” is actually Bryce, she charms him just enough with her intelligence and wit for “Jack” to whisk her out of there and into his hotel room. After “Jack” turns the tables on Leigh in the bedroom, which is all sorts of sexy, Bryce decides that Leigh could be a good ally to have at the company and hires her as his “consultant”.
Neither one knows that the other is lying about who they truly are. Leigh thinks she’s getting “Jack” to change the ways that the company was doing business under his uncle or maybe just sell off the company for parts. Bryce is doing his job by assessing the employees and the Board of Directors to see who could have killed Jack’s uncle and gotten away with it. They make a good team, even after they find out each other’s secrets.
This story is FIRE🔥. The chemistry between Bryce and Leigh jumps off the pages. I’m not a huge fan of BDSM, but the way Erika Wilde writes it makes it feel normal, maybe sacred. It’s hawt, all right. The story itself has a nice little mystery to solve, which Bryce and Leigh were able to do, is woven neatly into the tale. And they even got their Happily Ever After, which neither one was expecting.
Indecent Secrets is the second in the Indecent Series. It can be read as a standalone book. The series focuses around the three men running Elite Protection and Consulting (EPC).
Bryce Rivers is the manipulator in the company. He can go in, pretend to be someone, seduce someone, or use mind games to mold the results into what they were hired to do. In this book, he is posing as a philosophy professor, Jack Lawton, who recently inherited a land development business from his Uncle. The catch? HIs uncle may have been murdered. Bryce is to pose as Jack, go into the business and sound out who is trying to attach themselves for personal gain and who might want to murder again.
Leigh Bristow is an environmental activist. She has been trying to stop the destruction of Lawton Industries striping the land, destroying local business and forcing people from their homes. Now that the elder Lawton is dead, she plans to seduce Jack and persuade him to destroy or close the business so he can go back to his job as a professor where he would prefer to be. She is posing as a small business consultant and offers to "help" Jack as he gets to know the business he inherited.
Neither knows the others backstory at the start. They do become lovers almost immediately. This aspect has a BDSM D/s, master and pet flair to it. There are some steamy scenes, even if that isn't your thing. They start to have real feelings for each other, at the same time questioning if the other is possibly a murderer in disguise. Will they learn the truth and can their "relationship" survive that? Will the real murderer catch up to them and end both their schemes? Enjoy Erika's newest book of duplicity, suspense and romance to find out.
Indecent Secrets is the newest release in the Indecent series by Erika Wilde. This book hit the ground running from page one and kept me pulled in until the very last page. Both Bryce and Leigh are such strong individuals, and their chemistry was palpable.
Both Bryce and Leigh are both playing roles when they initially meet, and while I’m not big fan of lying, it totally worked for me in this situation. Bryce is posing at Jack Lawton, who has inherited his uncle’s company so Bryce can figure out if Jack’s uncle was murdered and who did it. Leigh is an environmental activist trying to find a way to dismantle Jack’s company from the inside. When Bryce hires Leigh as a consultant, she has her way in.
First I liked both the main characters. They are both very strong willed individuals and both seem to have the greater good as their motivations. Now the chemistry between Bryce and Leigh was so freaking hot my kindle screen might have fogged up a few times. Seriously, so many smexy times in this book!!! There are many light BDSM elements in this book, and it totally worked for me.
I felt the elements of mystery were very well done, and didn’t overshadow the building of the relationship between Bryce and Leigh. I love a good who done it, and Ms. Wilde definitely kept me guessing with this story. I enjoy romantic suspense stories, and Indecent Secrets was the perfect combination of romance and mystery.
Indecent Secrets was a great addition to this series, and now I’m ready to read Seth’s story and see him get his HEA//HFN!
Rating: 5 Stars (A) Review copy provided by publisher
Book #2 in the Indecent series, INDECENT SECRETS is a sizzling romantic suspense with mystery, murder, intrigue, passion, chemistry, and of course, love.
When reclusive college professor Jack Lawton inherits his uncle's company, after the man's untimely death, he hires Bryce Rivers to impersonate him. He wants to know who wanted his uncle dead and why. Who would benefit from his death? Leigh Bristow is an environmentalist who would love nothing better than to bring down Lawton Industries. When Leigh attends a party to confront Jack, she does not realise it is Bryce, who is immediately taken in by her. One night together is about to change everything for them. Entranced by Leigh, Bryce realizes that she would be the perfect ally, so as Jack hires her as a consultant.
I loved Bryce and Leigh, their sizzling chemistry, instant attraction, and undeniable heat that exploded between them. Bryce is a Dominant who likes to be in control, and gaining Leigh's submission may cost her more than him. Together they are fire, passion, and erotic. Both are keeping secrets which could either destroy them or draw them closer together, which will it be?
INDECENT SECRETS was a fast paced read with plenty of mystery, suspense, and heat. It was a captivating read from beginning to end, and I was completely entertained. I look forward to reading the next in the series, Indecent Demands.
Indecent Secrets is the second book in the Indecent Series by Erika Wilde. Although I love everything I have read by this author, I hadn't read the first book in this series--although I am definitely going to read it now!
This book was tagged enemies-to-lovers, and I don't think that is the case here. Bryce and Leigh are each pretending to be someone they are not in order to complete their job; Bryce is on a job for the new owner of a company posing as the new owner, and Leigh is posing as a consultant in order to dismantle the company for ideological reasons. But they meet in the first chapter and sparks fly off the page, and they never really think of each other as enemies or even rivals. They have incredible chemistry on page. Their banter is a delight. I love that although each MC is incredibly hot, the most attractive trait they find in each other is intelligence. Each feels truly seen by the other, heightening their attraction. Even when they are not on page together, they constantly have the other on their mind. The heat in this book is unapologetically scorching, and I love that the author uses these scenes to give the reader more insight to the individual characters. The developing feelings feel right for these MCs, and make for an unputdownable read.
It's truly well-written, and I can't wait to read the rest of the series!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I just can't! This book might be awesome, but I can't get past the fact that the main characters are JUST SO FULL OF THEMSELVES! In the first four or five chapters, they both go on and on about how smart they are (they're both the smartest person in the room) and how attractive and sexy they are (every woman/man is watching and wanting them). And with the fact that both of them are pretending to be someone they're not, neither made a very good first impression. At least, not for me.
That, added to the super-fast development of their sexual relationship - it begins within hours of their meeting, (AND is another Dom/sub situation, the second in as many books) - I just lost any desire to read more. It's been weeks (maybe even months) that I've been in a reading slump, simply because so many books seem to be more 'erotica' than 'romance', and it feels like very little is dedicated to the development of the actual love story- i.e., the 'romance'- or really, any other aspect of the story.
Unfortunately with the added plot device of the two of them lying to each other, I only got through chapter 7 (22%) before I was tired of this couple. It's not a bad story, or even bad storytelling. It's just not what I was looking for. I will probably give the last one in the series a try. Hopefully, I'll be happier with that couple.
I was so hoping the series would get better…to me…it didn’t. Things completely my opinion but I just didn’t enjoy this book. I really only finished the book to find out who did the crime.
Bryce and Leigh are both lying as to why they are hanging around this company. Bryce was trying to find out who killed Mr. Lawton and Leigh trying to dismantle the company because she was an environmental activist…until one night when all the secrets came out.
There was one thing that just really got on my nerves…Leigh did nothing but shiver and shudder…after a while, I was ready to give her a coat. The words were just overly used and a lot of times, for no reason at all. I felt no chemistry between the 2 of them. The scenes were definitely hot, but I never really bought in they were in love. I just saw them falling in love because of the bad situation Leah put herself in. It just didn’t feel like this book and the last one was a series about a security company until it was mentioned in a passing moment in the book.
I normally love the books from this author..and again…it’s just my opinion..but these books missed the mark for me and I doubt I’ll read book 3.
This is the second book in this series but in no way do you have to read the first book to understand this on, this is completely a standalone. Bryce has gone undercover as Jack Lawton who is the nephew who inherited the CEO position and company when his uncle suddenly died. Jack is a professor and recluse and knows nothing of running a company and since his uncle died suddenly has hired Bryce to go undercover to find out what is going on. Leigh is an environmental activist who actually wants the company disbanded and is in hopes that now with the new CEO she can do whatever it takes to get him to go along with her. What she doesn't expect is for the sparks and the chemistry she has with Jack (Bryce). When she discovers he has two cell phones and hacks into his laptop and finds out his real name is Bryce all bets are off. Especially when he comes back with his own discoveries after finding out who she really is. Oh, the secrets and the twists and the lies and deceit and that is just within the company. I'm not telling you anything more except this was a good one. I cannot wait for the last one in this series!
**Received this ARC for review from the publisher**
This was an enemies to lovers office romantic suspense.
I loved the twists and turns in this story. The book was a steamy page turner. The characters were realistic and unique. Would recommend! Must read - I don't want to give out any spoilers by giving my usual plot summary.
Leigh Bristow is an environmental activist. She devises a honeypot scheme to bring down the land development company by seducing Jack Lawton into dismantling the company.
Bryce Rivers is one of the partners in Elite Protection & Consulting. He is hired by Jack Lawton to pretend to be him and do reconnaissance at the company to find who in the company or on the board would be best to take over the company.
Jack Lawton is a reclusive philosophy professor who likes birdwatching, is an introvert and is very private. He recently inherited a land development company from his estranged uncle and has no intention of running it. He also believes his uncle may have been murdered by someone wanting to get control of the company.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is book two in The Indecent Series and it is Bryce and Leigh’s story and I recommend you read it. When Jack’s uncle dies leaving him the company he needs to find out if his uncle was murdered and if he was by who and why so he hires Bryce who is in security to play the role of Jack to find out what happened before Jack decides what to do next with the company. When Bryce takes on Jack’s role he decides to hire Leigh as his consultant not knowing who she really is but the attraction between them is instant and there chemistry is so strong that sparks fly and sizzles off the pages but Leigh has her own agenda and nothing will stop her from fulfilling her mission without being found out. There are twists and turns along with danger, secrets, betrayal, suspense, drama and intrigue that will have you turning the pages while keeping you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next and the storyline pulled you in and I couldn’t put it down as it was so addictive and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
Indecent Secret is the second book in the Indecent Series and is Bryce Hughes and Leigh Bristow’s story.
Each of these books in this series has its own HEA. So you can read this book as a standalone. I am always so curious as to what happened and the history of what is happening now.
Bryce and his 2 other friends Vaughn Hughes and Seth Maxwell own their own security company, Elite Protection and Consulting (EPC). Bryce is undercover and acting as Jack Lawton, the nephew who just inherited multi-millions of dollars after his uncle passed. Leigh is an environmental activist and is willing to do a lot to have the nephew come around and see things the way she does.
I loved how the tables turned on Leigh, no leaks here. I don’t want to give the story away.
Let’s say things heat up and the sparks are flying between Bryce and Leigh. Needless to say, I really enjoyed their story. Seth Maxwell’s story is up next in Indecent Invitation. I can’t wait!
Book One Indecent Proposal is Vaughn Hughes and Claire Turners story.
This is the 2nd book in the Indecent Series featuring the exciting, intriguing, unique twist on pretend lovers romance between Bryce and Leigh. In this story we get a unique twist on the pretend lovers genre and we get a smart story full of chemistry, espionage and intrigue that will keep you turning the pages as you go along on this exciting roller-coaster ride waiting to see what happens. Bruce goes undercover at Lawton Industries to try to figure out what happened to the owner while his heir Jack tries to figure out what he's going to do with the company. Leigh thinks that Bryce is Jack so she's trying to get him to see things her way but right away the sparks start to fly between them. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this exciting and intriguing unique twist on pretend lovers romance to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Bryce his hired by Jack, who is the new owner of a company that was left to him by his uncle. Jack thinks foul play is involved with his uncle’s murder and asks Bryce to help him out.
Bryce is hired to go undercover, posing as Jack in this new company. Along the way, he meets Leigh.
Leigh is an environmental activist, who is posing as a consultant for companies, in order to run Jack’s uncle’s company into the ground.
As Bryce & Leigh pose as other people, they can’t help but deny the chemistry and sexual tension between them. It is HOT as they are Master & Pet. But, what happens when they both learn the truth about one another?
I loved learning new things about each character and the twists and turns that came with this book! 😍
Favorite Quote: “Whatever he was feeling, I felt too. I wanted to keep him close and keep kissing him. To have my hands all over him, to have him inside of me.”
A story of intrigue and espionage and chemistry that will fog up your glasses with the heat that comes off the pages. Indecent Secrets is part of a series that takes you on a rollercoaster ride of your life. I love that the main characters are attracted to one another right off the bat and it’s intriguing to watch their story unfold. The story flows from scene to scene and the characters pull of their personalities well. Leigh is headstrong and uses her beauty to get her way but when she happens upon Bryce, he catches her at her game. From start to finish the story keeps you wanting more and more. The only thing that would have made the story better was more interaction with secondary characters that were connected to the main characters. That was the missing ingredient from the story, but I still loved the story.

I have to mention from the beginning that I love Erika's books. I love her talent to paint an incredibly beautiful story with enough twists, mystery, lust and action to have you turning pages 💕 This is the story of Bryce( posing as Jack) and Leigh. He is employed to pretend to be someone else, and she poses as a consultant to "help" him manage a company. Both characters are highly intelligent and their discussions and banter are delicious to read. Both characters are really strong and brave and it was a pleasure to get to know them. Both characters are full of secrets that start to reveal in each other's presence. Both characters have amazing chemistry that will set your Kindle on fire. Both characters will make you smile and swoon and fan yourself 🤭 It is a really well written book, with amazing characters and delicious chemistry. I highly recommend it 💕 I loved the first two books in the series and i can't wait to read the next one and see what Seth's story is.
Bryce owns Elite Protection and Consulting along with his two partners. His latest case is Jack Lawton who inherited a land development business but was also a recluse. So, he hired Bryce to act as the heir and deal with the board to find out who would be suitable to take over the company. Jack also suspected his uncle’s death wasn’t natural. Leigh works for a grassroots company, and then takes down the companies that ruin the environment. Now she is after Lawton Industries because they are destroying the forests in the area to redevelop on the land. Thus, Bryce and Leigh each have their own secrets. They meet at one of the party functions. He hires her as she is posing as a freelance consultant for companies. They are playing against each other while having a D/s steamy relationship, while trying to solve an alleged murder. It’s a fantastic original story!
I loved reading this story! It's unique, intriguing, smoking hot, with a bit of a mystery/thriller thrown in too! Hang on, you're in for a wild ride! I couldn't put it down, I kept wanting one more chapter!
Bryce's company was hired to help Jack Lawton find out who murdered his uncle and to help pave the way for him to decide a he wants to do with the everything his late uncle bequeathed him, including a company that destroys the environment. Bryce poses as Jack to infiltrate and investigate. Leigh is an environmental activist, and is intending on convincing Jack that he should dismantle the company.
Sparks fly the second their eyes met for the first time. And the ruse begins! Will each of their secrets threaten the love that is blossoming between them? Thank you Erika Wilde for this ARC.
Thank you Erika Wilde for this ARC. The above is my own and personal opinion.
