This book follows the rise and fall of the Nazi regime, and specifically the rise and fall of Hitler. The book looks at all the factors that lead to Hitler and Germany's defeat in WWII. Before taking this class, when I read nonfiction I didn't really pay attention to the narrative voice. Reading this book, I was very aware of the narrative voice. The author of this book made it very clear that they did not condone what Hitler did in WWII, and they thought he was a mad man. There were little comments throughout the book that pointed to Hitler's lunacy. I think this is one of the first times that I have been so aware of what the author's opinion was of the history they were telling.
