Now that Mama polar bear has another baby in her tummy, Little Cub is bursting with curiosity. “Why do we need a new baby?” she asks. “If we don’t like the new baby, can we send it back?” “Will you forget me when the new baby comes?” Gently and lovingly, Mama and Papa assure their firstborn that the new baby is a gift from God they want very much, just as Little Cub was–and still is. “God gave us you. Now he’s given us two!” The winsome sequel to God Gave Us You, God Gave Us Two playfully affirms a child’s uniqueness and place in the family and helps little ones accept, appreciate, and love their new siblings.

My granddaughter had this library book that I read with her during my visit. This is just lovely to share with an older child when parents are expecting another child. This was absolutely perfect for our family as our granddaughter was a three year old when her twin siblings, a boy and a girl, were born. She concluded the last page with "then they were a family of five"!
Got this as a gift for a friend and baby #2 and couldn't resist giving it a quick read through!😄
So cute! These books never disappoint! I love the curiosity of Little Cub and her straight to the point, child's point of view, questions.
" I've decided I want baby sister"
"Can't promise that" says Papa
"A brother?"
"Can't promise that either"
"What can you promise?"
Little Cub and her mama and papa are getting ready for baby #2 and little Cub has LOTS of questions, but her parents are there to reassure her that they will love her just the same and that she'll be a great big sister.
"God gave us you and now He's giving us two"
Also in a picture book a big part of it is, well.... The Pictures! And I just love these cute wintery yet snuggly settings. (Especially the puffins! I mean, come on!)
A gift to my three year old daughter upon the arrival of her little sister, this book reinforced how important a big sister is to her family while also bringing in God the creator to the parent polar bears' conversations with their cub. While I appreciate the book's surprise ending and focus on conversations with a big-sibling-to-be while their mom is still pregnant, it's not very engaging.
I enjoyed another one of this series of Christian Children's books. It was part of a gift and I voluntarily chose to review this. I've given it a 5* rating. I really like the simple ways the author explains things to a child. Very nice.
Children are a gift from God; they are his reward. Psalm 127:3 "All these snowflakes are bright, white, and wet. But each one is different. Same Maker,"
Such an adorable story about a mommy bear bringing two beautiful little twin cubs into the world and the older sibling meeting her twin siblings for the first time. Very sweet.
This book does a nice job of talking about a baby who will be joining the family while reassuring the first child that he or she will always be special to mom and dad-and the new baby- too
Description: Now that Mama polar bear has another baby in her tummy, Little Cub is bursting with curiosity. “Why do we need a new baby?” she asks. “If we don’t like the new baby, can we send it back?”, “Will you forget me when the new baby comes?”

“God gave us you. Now he’s given us two!”
The winsome sequel to God Gave Us You, God Gave Us Two playfully affirms a child’s uniqueness and place in the family and helps little ones accept, appreciate, and love their new siblings.
My thoughts... This is the second book of the "God Gave Us..." series ~ there is also God Gave Us You (see my review), Heaven, Love, The World (see my review), So Much, and Christmas. I absolutely loved this book! I only wish I could have had this when I was pregnant the second time around!
Little Cub is going to be a big sister to a new baby brother or sister...and in the end you find out she is a big sister to both! Her mama had twins :)
It is such a cute story, with beautiful illustrations! I would recommend this book to any growing family - especially for those with one going on two/three children of their own. I just love how they talk about mama bear's tummy getting bigger and bigger - and it talks about what Little Cub will be able to do when the new baby comes.
Such a cute story...it really touches your heart, and families with little ones will absolutely love it!

Around here we have no shyness about getting excited to read books about adding a new baby. While part of me wishes we had books like this to explain before OrangeBlossom was born, now with AppleBlossom at 30 months old and almost six months of adoring her little sister... our AppleBlossom is very alert and attentive to learning more about this big sister business. I love Lisa Tawn Bergren in every genre she tackles and especially-so in her God Gave Us So Much series. (Have you heard my excitement over the new board books?! God Gave Us You and God Gave Us Love)
It is no surprise to me that God Gave Us Two is a new favorite. In this book using as always incredible illustrations from Laura J. Bryant the mama and papa explain to their little cub how important and precious she is and about the new one that is an addition and not a replacement for her. This a great affirmation and since we added it to our library a few days ago we've read it more than a dozen times at AppleBlossom's request!

I initially got this book for Nate, who is 2.5 and doesn’t understand at. all. that there’s a baby in my tummy and it’s going to come out and then he’ll be a big brother. For him, though, this book was a little long and wordy.
Kahlen, however, *loves* it! And really, I like it a lot too. It focuses on how things will change but how things will still be the same too. The illustrations are sweet and the words are positive and affirming, but real too in the changes that will come with a new sibling.
I would recommend this book to anyone adding to their family!

This is a wonderful book with a magnificent art and will make an unforgettable gift to any child and he/she will ask you to read it until the book is completely worn out. The presentation is gorgeous: a hardcover book with a beautiful art in the cover and inside. The content is great. The book is written in a very easy language appropriate for children. Mama and Papa bear gently explain to their firstborn how important and unique she is for the family and that the new baby is a gift of God and will be loved in the same way as they love her. This beautiful message is passed in a lovingly way. This is a must have in the permanent library of any Christian family that wants to transmit the message of a new baby that is coming to their other child/children.
This book was written by Lisa Tawn Bergren and illustrated by artist Laura J.Bryant and was published in September of 2001 by WaterBrook Multnomah Books. The publishers were kind enough to provide me a copy for reviewing through their Blogging for Books Program.
As the eldest child in my family I know how delicate the subject of bringing a new baby in to the home can be. I have always worried how I would, one day, explain to my child that we were going to have another baby. I know the fear and anxiety a new baby can cause with children. I think this book tackles those issues wonderfully. This hardback book is wonderfully illustrated by Laura J. Bryant. The book takes you through the little cub's worries and fears of not being the only child anymore but in the end the little cub realizes that his parents will still love him no matter how many cubs they bring in to the family. I know now that when we decide to have another child I will have a great book to help get my daughter through any worries she may have over becoming a big sister.

Opening the pages of this book I liked how is stated that Children are a gift from God; they are his reward Psalm 127:3. This book will help children accept getting a little sister/brother. It also shows them how equally important they both are. This book was beautifully illustrated. This book will be perfect for a new sibling. And be grateful if you found out God gave you three.
Again, I got this book to help introduce the idea of a new baby to my 2 year old, but I think this is better suited to an older child. It was wordy and I had to paraphrase what was going on in words she would understand.
