Story about a girl who is visiting Greece with her family and sees a seal out in the water. The young girls family shares with her facts about Greece throughout the trip but Jenny wants to teach her family something too- She learns about the seal from the fishing attendant and shares information learned about with her family. The book also has facts in the back about seals.

This is a longer picture book about Jennie and her family on a trip in Greece. Jennie is tired of her family telling her, the youngest, bits of information all day long. SHE wants to know something they don't know. When she spots a seal and discovers they are in danger from fishermen who consider them pests, she has something important to decide, something her family doesn't know about. Beautifully detailed watercolors depict the Greek landscape and the azure undersea world. This would be a good tie-in for units about endangered animals and/or human impact on the environment.
