I thoroughly and completely enjoyed this simple and sweet little romance, and am surprised about the low rating. It isn't often that you find straightforward love stories without any silly pretentious plot devices that get in the way of the romance. This one did it. Girl and boy meet, boy and girl fall in love, boy and girl overcome anything keeping them apart, boy and girl live happily ever after.

I loved the characters, they were very lovable and true to their time period. They were completely believable, their romance was sweet and healthy, no abuse of any sort occurred. They loved and respected one another. There were a few misunderstandings which were quickly cleared up before they ruined the tale. At times Jack's expressions were incredibly angsty and his verbal interactions with Olivia were poetic and oozed with flower nectar. I loved this about the story, it was just what I wanted to read and had difficulty finding. My only complaint is it ought to have been longer, I didn't want it to end.

There were a few minor historical inaccuracies that I won't bother pointing out. They were so minor, it was easy to look past.

If you are looking for a novel with a big adventure, lots of fighting and a forced seduction, you will be disappointed. If you want a sweet, simple and charming little love story to warm up an afternoon, you will probably love this.

CLASIFICACION: 2 ESTRELLAS
