LINDA SOLE also writes under the names of Anne Herries, Emma Quincey, Lynn Granville and one as Juliana Linden.

Linda was born in Swindon. Her family moved to Ely in Cambridgeshire when she was nine, and Linda attended the local school but left at fifteen to work as a hairdresser in her father's business. She was married at eighteen and ran her own hairdressing business for some years before moving to Cambridge, although Linda has now moved to somewhere a bit quieter in Cambridgeshire. She started writing in 1976, combining this with helping her husband to run his antique shop.

Writing as Anne Herries, Linda won the 2004 RNA Romance Award and the Betty Neels Trophy. She lives in Cambridgeshire. After many happy years of taking their holidays in Spain she and her husband, now have a second home in Norfolk. Being only a short drive, they can visit for a few days at a time, which suits their busy lifestyle these days. They are only just across the road from the sea, and can see it from their windows. At home and at the sea they enjoy watching the wildlife and have many visitors to their gardens, particularly squirrels. Anne loves watching their antics and spoils both them and her birds shamelessly. She also loves to see the flocks of geese and other birds flying in over the sea during the autumn, to winter in the milder climes of this country. Anne loves to write about the beauty of nature and sometimes puts a little into her books, though they are mostly about love and romance. She writes for her own enjoyment and to give pleasure to her readers.

Underdeveloped plot and character development.
Almost instant attraction and love from the fmc and it was just not realistic. Many plot points were not developed enough:
The sickness in Jack’s family
His time overseas as a kapten
Proposing to Olivia bc they were caught in a compromising positiob but it was never addressed. He said it that he would have done it either way but still something did not sit right with the situation.
The earl being Jack’s father.

I think the miscommunication was also poorly executed and alot of monologue was in the book.
There were many themes which could have been explored but instead it felt like they were thrown in to create a story but really it just felt lacklustre many times.
There were also many characters to remember in this book or rather their positions were not explained enough.

What I did like was the main characters individual personalities which were realistic in thought and sometimes in action.

What ultimately let me down with this book was the central plot, the love between Olivia and Jack was poorly executed, too fast, no ground for the feelings, very passionate suddenly which we do not get any backstory to at all, which made their passionate or mainly Olivia’s passionate attempts to keep her husband at her side weird to understand. As was Jack’s love declarations which were very profound but the book did not illustrate his love enough to grasp what he actually felt.

un libro muy lento, y que a veces se hace tedioso y que justo cuando ya se vuelve un poco más interesante, termina.
Me gustaría que hubiese habido un poco más desarrollo en la parte final, y no fuera tan abrupto.
