This book is mediocre. I ordered it because I was charmed some years ago by Locklin's poem "The Iceberg Theory," which is one of his best. This collection includes selections of both poetry and fiction. A few of the poems are quite good (funny too); I also enjoyed the story "Equinox." For the most part, though, what's here isn't anything special. At his best, he's witty and plain-spoken; at his worst, he's misogynistic and petulant. The editing in this edition is abysmal.

I wouldn't make the effort to read this book. However, you simply must google "The Iceberg Theory." Viva iceberg lettuce. :)
