Jennifer Balldock is merely existing. Her life is not her own and she sees no way out, until she’s pushed to her limit and takes that first step to gain her freedom from a nightmare situation. Navy SEAL Robert ‘Hank’ Zadock answers her call like the knight in shining armour he is.
The first time Hank met Jennifer he was drawn to her, but he could see the shadows in her eyes…and the fear. There was never any doubt he wouldn’t go to her when she called. Rescuing her was as natural as breathing. Keeping her safe isn’t just who he is, but who he wants to be for her.
Jennifer may have escaped, but her brutal ex still lurks in the shadows, and she knows he’s waiting. Waiting for that moment when she and Hank least expect it. Waiting to take everything good and safe and pure away from her.
This book contains themes related to DV and mental illness. These events may be unsettling to some readers.
USA Today Bestselling author Nicole Flockton writes sexy contemporary romances, seducing you one kiss at a time as you turn the pages. Nicole likes nothing better than taking characters and creating unique situations where they fight to find their true love.
On her first school report her teacher noted "Nicole likes to tell her own stories". It wasn’t until after the birth of her first child and after having fun on a romance community forum that she finally decided to take the plunge and write a book.
Apart from writing Nicole is busy looking after her very own hero – her wonderfully supportive husband, and two fabulous kids. She also enjoys watching sports and, of course, reading.
I'm a sucker for a good Nicole Flockton book. No idea how she comes up with so many plots and keeps all the characters' arcs in place throughout the series.
This one is all about Jennifer, Kaleb's sister and Maddie's best friend (from the last book, Saving Madeline). We knew Jennifer was in serious trouble in that book. She was back with her ex-boyfriend Don. No good was going to come from that.
Sure enough, things have only gotten worse. In an act of desperation, Jen calls Kaleb's brother-in-arms, Hank, an elite sniper with the SEALs. Hank had offered to help Jen anytime she needed it. Well, she needs it. He rescues her, but at what cost? Don will never just let her go.
This book touched on themes of abuse and mental illness but Flockton is able to navigate these tough subjects while still delivering her trademark humor, thrills and of course, lots of steamy scenes. I've loved Hank for ages, so I was delighted to see him get the story he deserves.
There is a twist towards the end of the book that you will not see coming. I gasped. Wow.
I am sooo loving the military guys in this series.
The H is such a bada$$ soldier who’s seen his fare share of evilness in the world. And the h is a strong, beautiful woman who’s been through A LOT at the hands of her crazy ex-boyfriend. A crazy ex who can’t understand the word “no” and is determined to keep the h under his control. Thankfully, our bada$$ H is also determined to protect the h at all cost and to help her find the strength to stand up for herself. LOVE THEM!!!
Overall, the book read well with some minor typos/errors but nothing bad enough to effect the flow of the story. And like always, the evil teasers for the next book are making me want that book NOW. Like yesterday, kinda now. Poor Rocket😢. I can’t believe Ms Flockton left us hanging like that. But don’t worry, will get to find out what happens to him in September *Marking calendar*. Anyway, if you like strong h and protective H, then this book is worth reading. Heck, I recommend the whole series, starting with the first one.
Happy Reading Everyone🖤
Trigger Warning🚩: This story does deal with physical/mental abuse as well as stalking.
I was so emotionally invested in this story from the very beginning!!! Nicole Flockton reeled me right in with her beautifully crafted words!
Ohhh my goodness, my heart went out to all Jennifer has had to endure at the hands of her ex. Hank is the ultimate alpha hero, but it’ll take time and patience if he’s able to win her trust and save her from the evil coming!
Heart pounding suspense with a swoon worthy chemistry that can’t be ignored!
Saving Jennifer is the latest book in the Seal Team Tango series by Nicole Flockton. It is a splendid combination of suspense and sexy times. Hank is Cricket’s teammate, and Jennifer is Cricket’s sister. They met once and Hank told Jennifer to call if she ever needed anything. Jennifer is in an abusive relationship, and one day she decides to call Hank when she can’t take it anymore. Their relationship becomes real quickly when she stays with him while healing. Her abuse isn’t done with her yet though. Can Hank and his team find and save her? This is one of those books that drew me in from the first page, and I couldn’t put it down.
I adore Nicole Flockton and her storytelling. Hank and Jennifer are so good together. I felt all the feelings. I understood Jennifer's predicament and mindset and loved how Hank dealt with it.
I was happy to get updates on the rest of the team as well. This book can be read as a stand-alone but you will get more out of it if you read the rest of the series first.
House is a common occurrence unfortunately. Your either protecting someone else or your being blackmailed. That's what is happening with Jennifer. Hank comes to her rescue, but her peace doesn't last long. She will fight for her life. HEA.
Oh the twists, turns, and suspense in this book! You'll be hooked but boy will you be shocked by what really was going on! I had to pick my jaw up off the floor!!
Jennifer Balldock is Maddie’s best friend. Kaleb is Jennifer’s brother. Robert “ Hank” Zadock is Kaleb’s friend.
Jennifer meets Hank ( who is on Kaleb’s Seal team) at a get together. Hank was interested in Jennifer and gave her his number if she ever needed help to call. Jennifer finally called for help to get out of a bad relationship. They have chemistry at a slow burn to explosive.
Her ex doesn’t give up and has something on her to get her back, but Hank and his teammates , friends come to her rescue.
This book has suspense, intrigue, romance, drama and lots of emotions.
Saving Jennifer is Book 5 in Nicole Flockton's SEAL TEAM TANGO Series.
this one was a difficult read. not because of the Story itself, but because all of the bad Things Jennifer had to live through to at last get her Happy End.
Jennifer finds her Savior in one of her Brother's SEAL Team-Mates, Hank. But what she has to suffer to get there...
hard to stomache Back-Story, lovely Main Characters. A Villain you'll love to hate.
Trigger Warning: Physical and emotional Abuse, Blackmail
👊🪖I really dislike the trope when close "family" members can't tell when something happens to you.
👊🪖She plans to go back? Thn why on earth she called for help?
👊🪖"He just knows that if anything were to happen, his priority would be to get Maddie and their child to safety" Oh wow. I know in western countries the dynamic of family is not same as ours but still......😶 Umm.... you're basically saying you can live with your brother who won't prioritize you or me.
👊🪖Yeah.... they're not as close as they want to appear. At least they're not hiding it. My best friend married my brother? Things will change and it's a fact.
👊🪖Female clan☑️
👊🪖Now we're comparing ourselves to other heroines. Trauma competition.
👊🪖Wait, I thought she told her boss about the violation🤔
👊🪖It was foolish to not check her apartment before having sex.
👊🪖Seriously? She'll get blackmailed by a photoshopped video?
👊🪖Yeah we're living the happy go lucky life and a sudden breakup without any explanation makes sense. She could have made an excuse ffs. Add to that she dropped the bomb just before he was going on a mission. Imagine his mental state. And I really don't understand how that photoshopped video can damage Hank's career. I was enjoying this book but this ruined it.
👊🪖People don't have any way to communicate with them in case of emergency when they're on a mission? That's disturbing and wrong.
👊🪖Recently many authors are doing the thing where fmc gets kidnapped in the third act and others couldn't find her for a long time, like months. I don't like it.
👊🪖Now that I think about it why they never filed a case against Don for domestic violence when they rescue Jennifer for the first time? Why did they all let him get away and just hoped he'll forget about Jennifer? Another thing which bugged me was how the author wrote the relationship between Jennifer and Kaleb. It feels like sometimes she gave Kaleb some dialogue just to remind us that he's her brother cause boiii I keep forgetting that because it was that lacking.

The author delivers another winner in the series about the SEAL teammates of Team Tango. Little by little these strong men are finding their soulmates. All women that are also strong and whose lives have not always been easy. Robert/Hank Zadock is envious of his friends happiness. He did meet a woman that sparked his attention, Jennifer Balldock, the sister of one of his teammates. But as much as he wants to get to know her better, she’s in a relationship. That doesn’t stop him from giving her his number in case she ever needs his help. What no one knows, is that Jennifer is in an abusive relationship and when she feels she’s reached her limits, she calls Hank who comes to the rescue. What begins as a rescue becomes more until the past catches up with Jennifer. This story is at times heartbreaking as it deals not only with domestic abuse but also with mental illness. Definitely, not one for the faint of heart or for whom might have triggers, but still a well written and thought provoking story. What would onr do if confronted with these issues? Looking forward to the next story in the series. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Jennifer might be the most unlikeable female character I’ve ever read. And Hank takes her out of the house she lived in with a man who abused her when she calls him for help. He brings her to his house and within a few days he’s in love with her. What?! Why?! Jennifer leaves a long term abusive relationship and even though she keeps telling herself she needs time to heal emotionally, she goes to bed with Hank and falls in love with him.
Nope. Doesn’t work that way. And her brother is happy she’s with Hank now. Really?? No therapy, no time to heal. Just jump into another relationship with someone she doesn’t really know. *eyeroll
But as bad as all this is, when the abusive ex threatens her and Hank — she breaks up with Hank to go back to Don to “protect” her Navy SEAL. So pathetic. This girl needs some serious psychological help.
My first read by Nicole and I loved it. I enjoy similar books from other authors so I couldn't wait to dive in. The story stands alone but I do want to go back and discover the stories of the other characters. 'Hank' is a SEAL and a protective alpha male, but not in an arrogant way. Jennifer's brother is part of his team so she is family. Jennifer is in trouble, embarassed to be in an abusive relationship. Being blackmailed she cannot escape until in so much pain she reaches out for help. Her ex is a sick man and will stop at nothing to get her back. In the meantime she is with Hank and the chemistry is raw and clean after what she has gone through. This book touched on some ugly themes but it wasn't so dark that I couldn't enjoy it. Their journey was real and I was so invested in these characters. Great storyline, I really enjoyed this book.
Saving Jennifer - Seal Team Tango Book 5 Nicole has once again written a winner in Jennifer and Hank’s story, it’s a super read that flows really well. Jennifer having suffered more than enough at the hands of her abusive boyfriend, takes a chance and calls Robert ‘Hank’ Zaddock. After a brief meeting, Hank had told her he would come for her if and when she called, so he doesn’t hesitate to save the girl. As the slow dance builds between Jennifer and Hank it’s not all smooth sailing as Jennifer deals with her demons and her ex is back with more perfectly timed threats just as Hank has to deploy. There is plenty of drama, happy moments with some intriguing twists and turns as these two get their well deserved HEA.
Hank has told Jennifer that if she ever needed him to call no questions asked. He knows there's something going on, but she won't tell what it is. When she finally calls Hank drops everything and heads out to help her. When he gets there her abuse boyfriend is there. This story deals with domestic abuse, with drama, danger and keeping secrets from your family with a twist. There are good moments also that will make keep you cheering for their HEA.
Who is Jennifer and what does she do for a living? What is so special about her job? Who are Don and Giles? How does Jennifer know or meet them? What is happening with her at the beginning of the story shocked me. How does she know Maddie and Kaleb? Where do we find Hank and what is he doing? What thing do we find out Don has done? Why is he or did he do it? Oh, my, god... I did NOT see that twist coming! I cannot wait for the next story with the ending we were left with!
The character (s) of Don were something. My on!y disappointment was too much sex description, took away from deeper feelings. Hank was a dream character and wish there were some real men like him. That being said there is Rocket next. Of course, got a good tease for the next book.
This book was intense and not for the faint of heart! DV is a real thing in life and this author put the victim’s feelings right spot on Incredible story loving, heartbreaking and inspiring to be strong Loved it and will read again!!
Another suspenseful story by Nicole Flocton involving the Seal Team Tango this time with Crickets sister, Jennifer and his team mate Hank. I adored Hank, strong but not afraid to show his emotions, perfect for Jennifer, abused and needing help and love.
