Captain Cliff Shephard does not work any cases but when he gets a phone call from his best friend saying Charlotte was missing, Cliff had a big crush on Charlotte but did not want to his friendship end with Charles

Charlotte works for a military contract company, she ends up being kidnapped when she gets home.

Cliff can't believe what is happening and ends up getting help from Seals and Bounty to bring her home safe, so he can tell her how he feels and hopes she will feel the same way.

But when some things come to light will Cliff feel the same about Charlotte and will Charlotte get home safe.

THIS WAS A VERY GOOD SHORT STORY ABOUT A MAN (CLIFF) AND WOMAN (CHARLOTTE) WHO FELL IN LOVE IN HIGH SCHOOL BUT NEVER GOT TOGETHER BECAUSE THE MAN’S BEST FRIEND WAS THE WOMAN’S BROTHER. THEY DID HAVE A ONE NIGHT STAND AFTER GRADUATION IN WHICH CHARLOTTE GOT PREGNANT. YEARS LATER CHARLOTTE WAS KIDNAPPED AND HER BROTHER CONTACTED CLIFF WHO WAS THE CAPTIAN OF A POLICE DEPARTMENT. CLIFF WENT TO HELP FIND CHARLOTTE AND MET HIS SON WHO WAS WORKING WITH THE CIA. HE NEVER KNEW HE HAD A SON AND WHEN HE FOUND OUT HE REALIZED THAT HE COULD FORGIVE CHARLOTTE FOR NOT TELLING HIM CAUSE HE STILL LOVED HER AND SHE STILL LOVED HIM. CAN’T WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK IN THE SERIES.

Cliff and Charlotte have always loved each other but her brother's reaction kept them from a relationship. Years later she is kidnapped and her brother calls Cliff to help get her back. It was a short read with a couple of secrets coming out. But it does have a happy ending.

I found the story too short and a lot of mistakes. Enjoyed the earlier books but with so many mistakes in this one, not so much.
