This book is about ten year old Carmen Browne. In this book Carmen and her family were just sitting one couch in the living room watching a movie when they heard police sirens? Carnen's dad decided to go check it out with a few other neighbors and they learned that Carmen's best friend Rian's parents got into an argument and Mr. Thomas hit his wife pretty bad and she is in the hospital. They took Rian's dad to jail and whether school found out about the incident they gave the students hard lessons about domestic violence and had assemblies about it so the students know how bad this type of violence is. This book teaches you about domestic violenEe the power of forgiveness, and believing in God when everything in your world is upside down.

Golden Spirit

In book 3 of the Carmen Brown series we're faced with bullies, gossip, self esteem and how it affects others. One of the more popular girls in school is harassed on a daily basis by another girl. Words sometimes are just as vicious as someone's words.

Out of the series this is by far the one I really connected with. It's not good to hurt people no matter how you may think someone `acts' like a snob or like they are better than you. I really believe that people of all ages should read this book.
