4.5. Whoa! A wonderful historical fiction read. Well researched. David Easterman, of interest, studied Persian, Arabic and Islamic studies. Additionally he lectured at Fez University of Morocco. This understanding of Islamic culture and religion was strongly reflected in the story. Especially the fanaticism that the religion can engender.
Essentially the storyline concerns how a Holy war can arise. Can it be stopped before it starts? A British agent us on the trail - with a few key players to aid his goal of stopping a Holy war.

I have not read any Daniel Easter man books before but will certainly be reading more. A very well told story on a familiar theme of death and destruction for the world.Interesting facts and sub plots make a real page turner the only disappointing part was the end which seemed to tie everything up in the space of a chapter, that said I would still thoroughly recommend this book.

So enjoyed this book from the shocks & twists at the start thru to the end, found it hard to put down. Not overloaded with characters so was able to follow the story easily. Look forward to another by this author.

It was ok until the last hundred pages or so, towards the ending: I think it was very rushed in. I felt in a roller coaster where the anticipation and the rythm of the book lead to an impressive and unforgetable ending... and it wasn't. Such a waste. The beggining of the book was good because you could see, the bad boys wheren't fooling around; but.... some things in the middle of the book involving hacking, militar knowledge and so on was very unrealistic in the mean of who had it a how. The ending though... and what happened to Rashid, i don't know... it didn't quite came to the height of things. It's more like two stars and a half, but I most say this author has the talent to transport you to places very well, although sometimes it trew a descriptive paragraph in a page where the action was on point and you only wanted to know what happened next, not if the sand reflected something or things like that. It was a little distracting sometimes, but good, nevertheless.

A last thing, really? all the women around the main character are super beautiful and have hacking habilities? really? I think this is borderline hollywood style. Well, towards the end too, the book really turned out to be very hollywoodesque.
