Hey there! Welcome to my Goodreads page where you can keep up with all my stories - both the ones that are already published and the works in progress!!
I write mostly teen thrillers - plus some teen romance, books for younger children and four adult psychological thrillers.
I'm really excited right now because of...
Boy, Missing, my £1 book for World Book Day and Truth or Dare, my new teen thriller. (UK)
This was another brilliant book from Sophie McKenzie. The storyline was exciting and thrilling especially when Dylan confronted her dads killer. I found myself wanting to read more and more as the story unfolded as lots of the chapters finished on a cliff hanger. Overall I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes books packed with action!
Sophie McKenzie's The Hunted #4 from the series called The Medusa project is a very interesting, exciting, fun, and cliff hanging book. There are 7 important characters in this book which are Nico,Ketty,Ed,Dylan, Harry who helps Dylan find out more and Laura W\which is Harry's Mother. In a mission Geri sends the team to which they need to get the file of dad people and tells murder or accident,Dylan finds out her dad is not dead from a accidental traffic accident but a murder. From the mission she meets Harry and Harry is The son of Jack Linden but is not so mean like him but is kind. He helps Dylan find out more by hacking into computer systems because he learned it from Jack Linden. Laura drives the team and also talks about her father and tells her what to do. Dylan and others think it tis bookman(An old agent in the government) who killed her father but it is actually Geri Patterson. Dylan finds out more but in the room Dylan, Harry, and Nico is Geri puts poison gas. Can they escape?
"THE MEDUSA PROJECT HUNTED" . 14 years ago, scientist William Fox implanted 4 babies with medusa gene-a gene for phychic abilities. Now dead, he left Nico, Ed, Ketty and Dylan , each one with a distinct and special skill. . Dylan, the daughter of William Fox, makes a discovery about her father's death that changes every thing. . In this search she meets Harry, a boy who knows more about her than herself but can she trust him or anyone else??? . . SPOILERS: . I noticed some plot holes....can someone answer?? . First most basic question, Why didn't Ed see through Geri when he himself says that he used to see in her thoughts?? . And why didn't just Geri let Dylan think that Bookman was her father's killer. She could've gotten away without the four knowing??

Can I just say how much I enjoy reading this series? This book is just as good as all the others and you literally CAN’T PUT IT DOWN! The whole time I was reading it, it was practically glued to my hand. That’s probably why I read it in a day.
This book is absolutely amazing, as expected. After reading the first book, I knew I would love this series. And I really do!
I think something that’s really good about this series is that each book is written in someone else’s point of view. I found it really interesting to read about how Dylan feels. The others see her as rude, but they don’t actually realise she’s quite insecure. And, I didn’t realise how Dylan felt before I read this book.
I just adore this series. I’m so excited to start reading the next book!
I thought this was such an amazing book. I was so engrossed in it I didn’t want to put it down! Parts in the middle got a bit slow but during the end it was just so catching and really engaging! I loved the ending especially because it was a complete plot twist from the rest of the book! I would really recommend this book and the books before! Can’t wait to read the next books in the series soon!
Okay, honestly I think this book was the best in the series so far! I loved reading from Dylan’s point of view and seeing her vulnerabilities and emotions. I also feel like the plot of this book was much better than the other books. However, the only downside was that some of the plot was a little predictable and it didn’t really surprise me when it should have. Nonetheless, this book was relatively good.
Not bad, although the 3 typos within the first 50 pages were off putting to say the least.
Also the personality changes among the characters between books doesn't help with consistency. I get that each character POV means their opinions on the others changes, but that doesn't mean they change every time.
For a YA series, it's good. I enjoyed the books when I was 14, but as a 22 year old? Eh, could be better.
When I started reading the book, I hated how the other treated Dylan. So it took me a while to get into it. I thought it was pretty obvious who actually killed William Fox. Overall, this book was alright as things are starting to come together.
This is my favourite of the series so far. Despite finding it hard to connect with Dylan at the beginning, her voice and development throughout meant I warmed up to her. These books are incredibly fast paced, which means they tend not to be boring and the characters are really coming along.
okay book, i feel like the series gets really long and tedious and i feel like the characters really lose charm, maybe i just wasn’t in the mood for reading but i really just don’t find this book as enjoyable as i should’ve
Dylan was not my fav among the gang. I had a lot of trouble getting into the story I kept wanting to kick her all through the book. But I like the quick flow of the action and the plot twist. I'll definitely read the next. Loving this series
This was a great book and I did not expect that Geri Patterson would be against them it also involves a few people from previous books like Dylan's godfather jack but now also his son Harry.

Loved it would totally recommend to anyone, make sure you read the books in order, they don't mak and sense other wise, really dramatic and very shocking and took you by surprise
I am writing these reviews after reading all the books. This book was my favourite one in the whole series😊. I enjoyed this book because the rule in this series is that each of the four teenagers narrate one of the books. This narrater was very chatty and also quite humorous as well. The whole series is like a crime since the objective is to find out who killed William Fox and you get a huge shock on who the murderer is.😱

I enjoyed reading this book as I learned about the 4 teens with the Medusa Gene and travelled with them to uncover the secret behind Dylan's parents deaths. I look forward to reading more in this series.
After really enjoying the third book in this series I was really looking forward to this book, but it didn’t quite live up to my expectations. There were any particularly big mistakes, or areas I would change. I just think I didn’t like Dylan’s narration as much as Ed’s and Ketty’s so I didn’t find the book as natural, and at some parts the writing felt forced.
I enjoyed the introduction of Harry and Laura and I think it was nice to learn more about Dylan’s background because it is different to the other Medusa ‘agents’, and I really liked Laura because I think she was such a motherly, loving character and you can see immediately how different Dylan would be if she was raised by Laura, instead of her aunt and uncle. I also liked the plot in this book, probably more than the previous plots because I think it had more depth and complexity, even though there wasn’t as much action I think it was an interesting and provided us with more information.
I liked how Dylan’s character developed throughout, how she changed so much and started caring about others more than herself, and seeing the effect that this had on her psychic abilities. But, I thought that the reintroduction of Jack was rushed, as well as the scene in the hotel room, although the relationship with Jack, Laura and Harry made sense.
I thought this was a good book, I don’t think it was as good as the third book. But I am looking forward to the next books in the series, but I might have a slightly longer break between this book and the next book. Once again, a great book by Sophie McKenzie.
Hunted was a rollercoaster of a read. It started off really slowly, then it got a tad better, only to get worse. Then, obviously it finished on the best part (which was actually a surprise to me).
Hunted is written from Dylan's perspective, and I can safely say that she is just as annoying with her inner monologue as she appeared. Her character development was non-existent, which bugs me as it would be amazing to see her change from a spoiled brat who only thinks about herself to someone who genuinely cares about others.
Not much happens in Hunted either to be honest. Well nothing worth writing about (that does not spoil it obviously). The only thing that I would say was interesting was finding out more of Dylan's fathers death and how it affects what follows.
It is safe to say that everything has changed after the events of Hunted and with only 2 books left in this series, 1) I have no idea how it is going to be concluded and 2) things are about to get interesting.
A young adult adventure series about four genetically altered teenagers, each book focusing on a different character. Hunted is full of high-octane thrills from chases to an explosion and should keep teen readers on the edge of their seats. Adults can read it too. Four babies were implanted with a gene for varying psychic powers. One was the daughter of the scientist who dreamt up the idea, and this book focuses on Dylan as she searches for any clue as to the strange death of her father, who she'd just thought was paranoid.
The four teens are being trained up as a secret crime fighting force by the British government, called the Medusa Project. While they are learning to use their special powers - telekinesis, thought-speech, hypnosis and generating a force field - that doesn't necessarily mean they will get on with each other or their instructors, being typical moody teenagers made more so by isolation and pressure. Acceptance of authority only goes so far and when they all suddenly decide to rebel, suspicious of what they have been told of Dylan's father's death and determined to escape and find the truth, they are hunted by those who should be caring for them.
The Medusa series to date is The Setup, Hostage and The Rescue; this is the fourth book. Sophie McKenzie has won several awards for writing for young people; for Girl, Missing and Blood Ties, and this book should win her some more fans.
I think so far of all the Medusa Project books I've read (currently on the second last) this has to be my favourite. This specific book contains everything from romance to humour to drama and tragedy, and it really is in this book that the reader is able to grasp the consequences of the Medusa Gene. I mainly love the mystery aspect of it in which the gang investigates who exactly was behind the murder of William Fox, and the suspense! The ending was brilliant, ending with a cliffhanger, but not too much that it makes you want to pull your hair out...and the fact that it was Geri Paterson that murdered Fox. Seriously unexpected. My favourite thing about this book would be the fact that it is from Dylan's point of view - you get to know her so much better and you realise how fragile she is behind the brave face and arrogance she puts on.
