Cedi, an eighteen-year-old British import to the town of Blackford, Indiana, is determined to be a rock star. No one quite knows what to make of the new wild boy with his blue hair and overpowering-enthusiasm—not the jocks he torments in revenge, nor his new friends Toby and Orlando. Cedi is certain of his future until his path crosses that of Thad, a tall, dark, older man who tells Cedi he has no talent. Cedi is infuriated, but intrigued. He becomes obsessed with Thad, who wants nothing to do with him. Cedi isn’t about to give up, however, and wedges his way into Thad’s life. Cedi finds himself caught between his love for Thad and his dream. Just when he has what he thinks he wants, his adventure truly begins...
I give all Mark A. Roeder books five stars but that is because I am hopelessly hooked. I am addicted to the books because I have been mainlining the Gay Youth Chronicles Series. Someone stop me before I erect a statue of Mark A. Roeder and gay and straight boys of Verona. That's it ! I'll open a Mark A. Roeder Museum in Verona, Indiana.
Let's Rock! Magnificent book. Cedi (short for Cederick) is not a force of nature. Cedi is so forceful he controls nature! He is an unforgettable rock star and romantic lover.
I'm about 2 hours in to the 9 hour story, and just decided to DNF. This story is ... fine? I guess it's fine. I think to the right person, in the right mood, in the right time of their life - this story could be interesting. For me, though, it just isn't that interesting. A little too predictable, a few too many narrative threads that I'm not interested to follow and see where they go.
I don't really recommend this book, but I also wouldn't discourage it if it sounds like your thing.
So I enjoyed reading this book. I feel it’s written more for a younger audience but it still brought tears to my eyes. Yes look to the stars for your dreams. Does have gay guys in it parts romantic.
